As Strife listened to Mercy's intended ambush, she decided she would likely soon be confronted by adversaries up close and personal, and opted to draw her rapier in anticipation of melee. As the rest of the group took up positions where arrows posed no threat, there suddenly emerged from the doorway a group of Duergar. It was evident they knew where to look to find the Jingle Belles, and that they wouldn't hesitate to swarm around the columns to engage with their warpicks.
Rather than forfeit her cover, Strife readied an attack to welcome the first Duergar to move next to her.
Carrhae knows that even with her successful attempt at hiding herself, it's only a matter of time before her enemies figure out that she's behind a pillar. She grips her sword in her hand and readies an action to bring it down upon whichever Duergar decides to attack her.

Strife lunged with her rapier, aiming for the creature's heart, hoping not to embarrass herself as one with only passing familiarity with melee. She knew a thing or two about Duergars, however.
Zephyr's hands are clasped over his amulet, whispering a prayer to the Traveler before casting Spirit Guardians. Little fey creature's spring from around the cleric, not giving a rat's ass if the dwarves see him or not, as 3 fey spirits glides their way in Strife's direction, surrounding her. There are still a few hanging around Zephyr.
The next enemy that gets into Zephyr/Strife's vicinity/makes an attack on them needs to make a WIS Save of 14 or take 21 radiant damage. On a successful save they take half. Also their movement is halved!

Zephyr's magic dick attack is enough to fell Dwarf1. It falls down dead with a shocked look on it's face. Cuz a magic dick. Strife is now clear. Dwarf2 rears around the pillar at Carrhae, triggering her readied attack. Now is the time to act, mon ami.
You add your WIS modifier (+1) to initiative rolls. At the start of your first turn of each combat, your walking speed increases by 10 ft., which lasts until the end of that turn. If you take the Attack action, you can make one additional weapon attack that deals an extra 1d8 damage of the weapon’s damage type on hit.

"All will become equal now" | "Cause we're going to shout it loud, even if our words seem meaningless. It's like we're carrying the weight of the world"
Strife missed her foe's heart but managed to pierce his lung, and Zephyr was able to finish him thereafter, but not before the Dwarf's reprisal drove his warpick through Strife's armor to pierce her left side. She cried out in pain and covered the wound with her free left hand.
The burning pain was intense but served to confirm that all the nasty looking wounds her friends had sustained through the battle actually felt even worse. Strife was highly alarmed when two of the Duergar turned invisible, but having quickly found positions from which to strike at her unwary friends, they reappeared to inflict further injury to Zephyr and Carrhae.
Zephyr’s vengeful fey spirits brought down the first attacker, and Strife rushed over to assault the backside of Carrhae’s foe, drawing her short sword with her off hand. She was angry and frustrated that it was already too late to prevent Carrhae from being struck.
The last dwarf didn't stand a chance. He didn't even scream as he died. Dead bodies litter the floor. Surely, someone roaming the halls will be introduced to a slaughtered mess in this hall. You take a moment to catch your breath, as you all can feel your hearts pounding in your chest.
You hustle into the room the dwarves came out of.
The crumbling masonry in this old guardroom illustrates the great age of this dungeon. To the north, a long gallery leads to an arrow slit in the western wall. To the south, piles of rubble choke a small inner chamber. Half a dozen plain bedrolls and an iron stove furnish the room. A pile of firewood nearby keeps the stove well stoked.
It is very strangely quiet now. You are unsure if your battle has alerted other occupants in this part of the Temple.
Carrhae smiles upon seeing her bard friend slay the Dwarf that struck her. "You claim to be a lover and not a fighter, but I think that the Dwarf you impaled might have a different opinion." She teased. "Can you help me get that Burrowshark's armor? I think that it's cooled down now and it looks like it should be able to provide me with more protection than my current set of armor. Provided that no one decides to roast me in it, of course." Once Carrhae has relieved the burrowshark of his armor and put it on, she puts her old armor away where it'll be safe. "This new armor doesn't look as good as my old set, but at least I still have these." She says, motioning towards her red scarf and the rose in her hair that Strife gave her. "Perhaps one of you lovely bards can help make it look more presentable once we've finished with this."

Mercy scoped out the room the dwarves came from and returned with an arm full of bedrolls. “Someone help me hide the bodies, then we can bar ourselves in that room and rest before continuing on.”

With the battle won, Strife saw Carrhae's demeanor immediately brighten with a smile, and the paladin's thoughts turned to the practical matter of adopting the Burrowshark's armor, along with a blithe yearning to have it made to look more attractive.
But you almost died! I saw you, fallen, helpless, a crumpled broken heap beneath a mesh of steel. They might have killed us all. They might still, thought Strife, incredulous at Carrhae's ability to shrug off disaster. Strife clasped Carrhae's hand in her own to cast Cure Wounds with her final level two slot, erasing a portion of the warrior's injuries (2d8+4, for 15 hp). She then turned away to vomit, and crouched down to sob as quietly as she could manage.
