Ruggero nods at Theo. "Aye, good thing we came in through the back, eh. Me thinks we should move on to the next room and keep an eye out for more traps." Ruggero smiles at Theo and looks over to Zakon, Kelvin, and Viayaand says "If ya's want, I can take the point," and then slowly moves over to the open corridor (E7) and checks to see inside the room.
"Aye take point Ruggero, you're combat abilities saved us in Kolovoro and I'm not much of a brawler. Which door should we check out first?" Giving it some second thought, Kelvinlooks around."Though, if we're to be on alert for any magic or religious rites, maybe Theo or I ought to take the lead," he finishes thoughtfully.
"I'm not much of a front tank, but I can easily watch and/or flank as needed," Zakon says. "I agree we need to investigate, but this place seems . . . wrong," he says with a frown.
"Aye, that it does. If no one has any other suggestions, I say we take a peek off the veranda see if there's anything relevant we can spot, and then go through the north door."

Sorry for vanishing yous! The internet at my dorm has been on the fritz all weekend and is still going on and off at random intervals. Apparently they're working on it but I'll likely be spotty in the evenings because that's when it seems to tank the most. Perception check coming right up. We'll see if it's still useful or not, lol.
Viayafollows the others as they decide to make their own way inside. Impressed by Ruggero'sability with the stonework but also growing more and more concerned the more they see of this temple. Uncertain if this is what they are looking for or if it's just a ruin, something that might cause them trouble if they're not careful but also may not be the cause of what happened to the farmer's son. Then again, the atmosphere of the place feels off and surely it can't be a coincidence that the symbols carved into the doors match those they found hanging in the trees. This has something to do with something and she doubts they'll have to wait much longer to find out what. The she elf taking her time examining the space they've found themselves in and staying quiet as the others talk about their next steps.

I was going to send MysPost perception results in a PM, but with chancey internet I think it would be wise to do otherwise. I mean, Viaya,'s a nice person; I don't think she'd not tell you what she figured out.
Viaya: You notice something very odd indeed about this place. In the center of the room, directly below the chandelier, you realize that there is a circular area of floor that has not been coated in a layer of dust like the rest of the floor. You kneel down to touch the edge of this circle, only to find that your fingers disappear through it. The floor is false and anyone who steps in would have likely fell.
Ruggero:You look through the north door to see that it leads to an empty hallway, which leads to the rest of the rooms on this floor of the temple. Directly across from where you are standing, you can see the entrance to what appears to be the dining area for the acolytes.

Thankfully yes, she is most certainly nice enough to not want her companions to fall to their deaths. XD
Upon sticking her hand through the floor, Viayaquickly retreats to the edges of the room. Eyeing the ground cautiously with every step. "Watch it there gents." She cautions the others. "The floor near the center is at least partially an illusion. And there's no telling what's underneath."The last thing they needed was for one of them to fall in order to find out. The hall Ruggerohas found looks far more safe a place to travel but then, looks can be deceiving and where there was one trap there tended to be more. "Let's be careful about where we step and what we touch from now on alright? I don't like this place."

Shock crosses Theo's face then a bit of a scowl. Theo knew this place didn't feel right, as did his new found companions, but what kind of temple had illusionary floors and pit traps?
"Good Call Viaya, I have no desire to find out what's at the bottom of such a trap." He follows the example of the Viaya and moves to the edges of the room.
Zakon's eyes widen in surprise as Viaya shares the information about the illusory floor. Good thing I didn't head that way first, he thought to himself. "Why would someone place an illusion in the floor in the middle of a temple?"he asks. He leans down to inspect the floor a bit more closely. "We certainly need to be extremely wary as we move - although again, it doesn't seem like Vall made it in here, so we still aren't any closer to figuring out that mystery." Zakon moves carefully around the room, on the lookout for any other traps.
So, for future reference on the map (I can't draw the pit because I'd like to be able to use this map again for future sessions if I ever start up another group or something like that), the pit is a circle on squares F7, F8, G7, and G8 under the stairs.
Zakon: [I'm assuming you're still near the main entrance]. Glancing off to the side, towards the west door [F5], you notice an odd shimmer in the doorway, perhaps a spell or another trap to guard the door.

"Is is worth it to peek through the false floor and see what lies beneath?" Kelvinasks, looking around at his companions."This clearly is no normal temple."

"This isn't like any temple I've seen." Theo carefully lies prone so his head is over the illusionary ledge. He lowers his head a bit so that he can use his dark vision to see what's in the hole.
Zakon motions to Kelvin, pointing at the west door. "D'you see that?" he says. "There's an odd shimmer there - more illusions perhaps? But why go to all this trouble in an empty building?" he wonders aloud. This place makes no sense to him, as it is unlike any other temple he's seen. Although now that he thinks about it, some of the priests he's known would have loved to have magic like this in their temples. It would make fleecing the faithful so much easier, wouldn't it?
Ruggero steps back from the hallway he was looking and makes his way over to Kelvin and Zakon as Zakon points to the shimmering door. "Are me eyes playing tricks or am I seeing what I thinks I am seeing," Ruggero says. "So what should we do. Make our way down the hallway I was just peeken' at or take a chance with this here magic door?"
Theo: Looking down past the false floor, you see what is roughly a 10 ft drop into a circular pit. Anyone, especially the smaller members of your group would be hard-pressed to climb out of that.
So, you appear to have 4 options: go out to the veranda, go across the hall to the dining room, attempt to cross the warded door into the scriptorum, or go up the stairs. I am out on Tuesdays attending graduate class, so I do not have the campaign booklet with me. Any checks and such would have to wait until tomorrow, but as a group, be thinking about where you want to go next.
"Good Eye Ruggero," Theo whispers. "There are a couple of more doors over there do you want to have a look as well?"
I'm guessing that we came in at H6. Ruggero checked E10. There are doors (or hallways?) at E7 (West) and F4 (North and under stair case).
Ruggero nods at Theo. "Aye, good thing we came in through the back, eh. Me thinks we should move on to the next room and keep an eye out for more traps." Ruggero smiles at Theo and looks over to Zakon, Kelvin, and Viaya and says "If ya's want, I can take the point," and then slowly moves over to the open corridor (E7) and checks to see inside the room.

I think we may need a moment to react, it might be easier to do that if we aren't leading the way. I've noticed nothing unusual*.
