Zakon will move closer to the doorway, watching Viaya and looking around to see what he can see from outside the room. "Anything interestin' in there?" he asks.

Looking around at the scriptorium after passing the amulet to Kelvin, Viaya shrugs at the other party member's questions. "Dust, old scrolls, writing desks. I'd have to go deeper in to see more." Something she isn't sure it would be wise to do alone. Remains standing in the hall as Kelvin comes in after and hands the amulet back out to the others, scanning the dim room beyond before turning to the shelves of scrolls to see if anything catches her eye.

Ruggero nods at Theoand takes the amulet from the magic hand. He turns to Theoand Zakon and smiles at them before saying "see you two fellas on da other side." He looks back at the door, sighs, and steps through, joining Kelvin and Viaya. After crossing through Ruggero gives it back to the magic hand to be passed back to Theo and Zakon. He then grasps his battle axe and looks around the room ready for what might strike.
Theo, to answer your question, I was trying to rationalize why this particular mission chose a charisma check to get past the spell. I figured since it was a temple, it would have something to do with faith or loyalty to the temple's deity. Trust me, there are some things that are detailed and nice about this mission and other things that are not. When we get to the end of this one, I may share my own personal review of the mission.
As the group, one by one, enters the room using the amulet, you are able to see the whole area. Eight wooden desks and chairs are arranged neatly for work in this chamber, covered in undisturbed thick dust. Several shelves reach from the floor to the ceiling around the walls and each shelf is piled high with scrolls.
Viaya: [Since you guys aren't actually reading the scrolls just yet, we'll put that good investigation check to another use]. Taking a few tentative steps into the scriptorium, you run your fingers along some of the dusty shelves. Just as you walk by one, you notice that the back of one of the shelves is slightly askew, as if the board in the back of the shelf had been dislodged, but why would that be, unless...it's a secret cubbyhole!

Once he enters the room, Zakon heads straight for the shelves. He hasn't seen this many scrolls in one place since he was back home. Absently rubbing the tips of his fingers together, he looks over each shelf thoroughly, careful not to disturb the scrolls in case they are more fragile than they seem.
Theo stays near the doorway so that they won't be surprised if something comes through.
"It appears this room has been undisturbed. It is doubtful that the boys calamity was caused here. Perhaps the cure is here though. Are there writings regarding the removal of curses or restoratives? I wonder if there is a journal that details the safeguards or hazards of this place? I'm unfamiliar with the elvish writing but I can keep watch here. Vianya what have you found?" Theo sees her peering closer at something she discovered.
Zakon nods absently in agreement with Theo's words, his eyes still searching through the piles of scrolls. "Aye, it's clear the boy didn't make it into this room, or indeed even the building. So again, we have more questions than answers," he says. "I wonder what happened to the folks who were here? Why did they leave? And leave all this behind?" he asks, gesturing to all the items still left in the room.
Ruggero looks around the room in wonder. "Aye, I agree with ya gents. Seems like we're de first guests in a long time," he chuckles as he wipes away a cobweb from his face. Ruggero places his battle axe in it's sling on his back and walks towards the center and with a clap of his stubby hands says, "So,"and then starts rubbing them together, "should we start looking fer this cure?" He cocks his head up towards Viaya,"and what exactly are we lookin' fer?"

Ruggero walks over to some of the books and scrolls and looks to see if he can remember anything from those history lessons his uncle Toki would drone on about when he was a wee lad.
Zakon smiles with amusement at Kelvin's excitement. Must be nice to get that excited over something, he thought. I haven't been that excited over something since, well, a long time, anyway, he thought to himself. At Kelvin's words, he looks over towards Viaya. He'd been so caught up in the scrolls and his trip down memory lane that he hadn't realized she'd discovered something. Focus, he chided himself sternly.
Viayasmiles to herself as her brief but thorough search uncovers something. And not a trifling something either, a hidden hatch. A section of the wall giving beneath her hand with the right bit of pressure. Half the party notices as she finds it of course but Viayadoesn't mind terribly much. Pushing the hatch open further as the others ask after what she's found. "Hopefully something interesting." She replies, keeping her attention focused on the hatch. The elf has her fingers crossed for a cure or answer for whatever happened to the farmer's son but she's not entirely expecting it to be this easy.
