Incantis joins the general team effort, holding an Eldritch Blastready for any goblin that flees or attacks.
D: Goblins 1, 2 and 3.
And flee and attack they do. Goblin 1 bolts first, headed for the curtain leading south - the one not on fire, that is. Sildar's bowstring twangs:
Attack: 9 Damage: 5
but the arrow goes wide.
Incantis' spell blasts next:
Attack: 8 Damage: 12
also missing. Goblins 1 and 2 disappear to the south, running as fast as they can.
Goblin 3, on the other hand, cares about nothing but the dead creature lying on the floor. You can see tears in its eyes as it launches another arrow at Dekhan:
Attack: 9 Damage: 5
The arrow hits Dekhan's shield, but does no damage. And the goblin drops his bow, draws his scimitar, and rushes into melee with Dekhan.
Round Three:
A: Scupper and Varinth B: Sildar C: Incantis, Strix and Dekhan D: Goblins 1, 2 and 3. Goblins 1 and 2 are fleeing somewhere to the south.
Scupper, the goblin is consumed by its rage, slashing and stabbing with almost no skill or thought; the wildness of its movements prevents you from getting a clean strike in, and as one swing of its scimitar comes down, your arm is knocked aside and you miss.
Vaz walks into the room and snaps his fingers, putting out the curtain fire.
Sorry Stixy, meant to give that to you before. It's all yours.
He eyes up where the goblins fled. If those are more curtains to the south that the goblins fled through, Varinth will throw a fire bolt at each and use control flames to funnel the smoke out of the room.
Varinth you step closer, and set the other curtains alight. The first are burned away now, and you and the others nearby can see an apparently empty and rather dark room on the other side. You don't have a clear view of the fleeing goblins, though you can still hear them.
B: Sildar
Sildar, struggling to get a clear shot, puts his longbow away, draws his sword, and moves a little closer to the battle, but he's not within range of the remaining goblin 3.
Strix shoves past Scupper and assaults the goblin 15 for 11 / bonus 11 for 6 (any chance I can convince you that I can use the ultralight staff for bonus attacks?
Dekhan points Talon after the fleeing goblins. Well, boys, if they didnt know we were here before they do now. Shall Sildar and I go in loud and proud, try to draw their attention so the rest of you can get angles of attack or shall we still try to be sneaky?
Strix, you search the unconscious goblin, and find a few sticks of incense, but nothing more. However, as you are searching, your eye is suddenly caught by a glint of light off the golden items on top of the altar, and you move over to investigate them. They are human-made, and quite beautifully too, from gold. It will be a challenge to find a buyer outside a large city, but the chalice is worth 150 gold pieces, the knife 60 gold pieces, and the censer 120 gold pieces.
You hear the sound of a door slam in the room to the south, as presumably the fleeing goblins have made their escape.
I'm stymied, Dek. Yer right and sure we'll be faced with more soon but I'm leery about splitting up. It's less important to sneak but it's still the best option and might confuse them enough for a tactical advantage.
Scupper peaks around the curtains for a full room view...
That said, probably not if we follow them directly. What options do we have? One door or back te the kitchen?
Scupper, you look past the sorry, charred remains of the curtains, into the room beyond. The ceiling is high, and it looks as if it might have been part of a chapel or shrine at one time. Angelic figures are sculpted along the room’s upper reaches, looking down on the floor below. Near you, between the archways to the north room where you are, is a cracked but ornately carved stone brazier.
A door leads east from the chapel room that Scupper is looking into. You are only aware of one other path forward, which is the door leading east from the banquet hall.
Dek weighs Scupper and Strix’s words considering for a moment. Well, if we’re going to proceed stealthily I’d say we’d best do it sooner rather than later. I don’t know if we have time for an interrogation. Strix, didn’t you have some manacles? Could we restrain this one? I’ll move into the next room to see what I can see. Dekhan moves cautiously into the next room and puts his back to the wall next to the door and listens to see if he hears anything on the other side.
Dekhan, make a Perception check as you try to hear through the door.
Strix, as the goblin is unconscious, you are able to put the manacles on with no problem. The goblin is unconscious and badly wounded; without magical healing, it will awake in 1 hours.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Throw the wee shite in with the dead hobgobs. We should be done or dead afore he wakes.
I'll see if I can't find another tentacled death trap up ahead.

That goblin is occupying the space Strix said he ran into. Not that I want to be attacked...

Corrected. :)
Scupper moves to intercept the one attacking Dekhan
Attack: 11 Damage: 10 sneak attack 1
Maybe ye can get a new beastie if you live long enough to talk

Strix, one blow thuds into the goblin's head, and it collapses, unconscious, its hand reaching out to the dead creature nearby.
Does anyone want to chase the two goblins who ran away? If not, then combat is over.
No, not really. The feature is very strict about it being an unarmed strike - not even a dagger.
Dekhan points Talon after the fleeing goblins. Well, boys, if they didnt know we were here before they do now. Shall Sildar and I go in loud and proud, try to draw their attention so the rest of you can get angles of attack or shall we still try to be sneaky?
"vote sneaks! Gut worm, wear skin, walk in no probs!"
Strix begins searching the unconscious goblin. "We keep, or... skwwwwwkkkkkkt?" (He makes a dead duck noise while drawing a finger across his throat.
