As you all begin to move forward, let's roll initiative. Scupper, you can make an attack as well if you like, though it will be at disadvantage if you're using your shortbow.
No need for any more initiative rolls. Scupper and Varinth take down the lone guard effortlessly, and there's no indication that anyone from inside the cave, or anywhere around the area, has taken notice.
Strix, you approach, snapping a few twigs and rustling a few leaves as you go, but fortunately there's no-one around to hear or notice you. The cave mouth is about four feet across, partly obscured by the exposed roots of small tree that grows a few feet further up the hillside. You can't see far in, because the narrow tunnel takes a sharp turn to the right immediately. You see tracks on the ground; lots of boots come and go through here regularly. And listening, you hear... something. Sounds coming from inside, though indistinct - you would need to enter the cave to get a better idea.
On the ground lies the pierced and burnt body of a half-elf, wearing similar armour to the bandit corpses you burned earlier.
The rest of the party does not approach, at least not for the moment.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Varinth lobs his wineskin over his back and grabs his staff off Soodi. He then gives her a peck on the cheek, pops his pipe back in his mouth and gives her the stay signal. He then crouches down low and sneaks toward the cave mouth.
(Yes, Varinth can fill his wineskin back at Thornhold, and it would still - for cheap wine - be covered by the bag of money he provided.)
Varinth sneaks up towards the cave mouth, while Strix enters following the tunnel as it swerves to the side.
Strix, after about twenty feet, you emerge into... a dinner party. There's a decent-sized cavern, round and about fifty feet in diameter. In the centre is a single long table piled with food and drink, and at the table, eating and drinking heavily, talking, laughing, are ten presumably bandits. There's even a guy at one end with a lute making some half-decent music and singing, and though the singing is less impressive, it still adds to the ambience of general revelry.
Clang.
A halberd which had been leaning against the wall near the entrance, is leaning no longer but has fallen to the ground. Ten heads turn to look at you. The music stops.
Vaz winks at Scupper
Three, two.... one. FTUMCH!
Fire Bolt
Attack: 21 Damage: 7
Having failed to telepathically send his message back, Strix whispers to the Imp "Cave. Guard. 1. Mebbe more. Can't Tell. Should go quiet."
A bolt of fire streaks past him, striking the lone guard. "Or that. Could do that...."
Sighing, he runs up the hill at a low crouch.

Varinth slowly turns to Scupper eyes wide and mouth agape.
Pushing back a smile he mouths wow!
Feckin hell, lad. That was brilliant! Nice shot!
And you sir! Varinth pops his pipe between his teeth and grins.
Scupper puts his thumbs in the lapel of his black leather coat and struts over to the others with Vaz
Tutting softly, Strix approaches the cave mouth and takes a look..

Having no means to signal the group other than to hold up a hand, Strix props the guard back up in some semblance of life and creeps forwards.
In case the imp is still with him, he whispers "not clear...many tracks....noise ahead...caution?"
Same again?

Btw: Can I retro fix that Vaz would definitely refilled his wineskin at the dwarven outpost?

At the sound of the clang from within, Dekhan decides stealth is presumably off the table and runs forward after Strix and Vaz.
Vaz gives a sigh and runs as well (tank the gods for tese magic boots)
(Presuming he's now Scupper since Scupper is now Vaz :))
Scupper will make haste into the cave.
