Strix is not getting lost; he's a bit more familiar with the sewers that he was, and though it takes half a day for him to feel confident, he is fairly sure he would recognise these particular tunnels if he found himself here again.
That it is, lad, that it is, the man says to Dekhan, fixing his eye on him. You have something to say? His tone isn't unfriendly, but rather implies 'let's get down to business, if there's business to be done.'
35 gold will purchase not quite the finest of fine fashions, but something silken and respectable in the colour of Varinth's choice. The shopkeeper measures you up and adjusts the pantaloons as you wait - they are the most expensive, and flashiest, you have ever owned.
Dekhan smiles Right to it, then, I admire that. My friend and I are looking to get the lay of the land, as it were, and you seem like one who does a good bit of noticing without your noticing being noticed. He smiles winningly, he hopes. Wouldn't you say, Canits?
Uh, yeah, sure, the man replies. I mean, I notice things, except things that might bring trouble down. No-one wants trouble, friend, he says, eyeing Dekhan's well-armed and well-armoured form.
Scupper, you manage to find a contact who has a contact who gets a message to you to be in the common room of the Blushing Mermaid tomorrow (8 Kythorn) at sundown, and watch for a gnome woman with a temper.
If there's time in the day, Strix will try to apply what he's learned below to get an idea of what buildings are above, especially any that look abandoned, and then head back to the Mermaid to skulk in a corner.
Incantis snaps to from his extraplanar reverie, looking the man in the eye. "You seem a busy man, I'll get to it. My friend and I are looking into a noble family, the Divlaynes?"The warlocks gnarled hand withdraws from its sleeve, a gold piece held twixt its fingers. "Any insight you may have would be valuable."

The man smiles and takes the gold piece. The Divlaynes are an old family; I suspect you'll find out more from someone up in the posh parts of town. But everyone knows they've fallen on hard times - too many idiots in charge of the coin, and not enough new blood. It's not a new story, but it's always good to see nobles come crashing down to earth. At least, I find it funny.
Scupper's headed to the boat, and Strix and Varinth to the Blushing Mermaid - is that the plan? Or do you want to retcon that you all agreed on the same meeting point?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dek gives a good-natured chuckle. A tale as old as time. That's the low going high, what about the low coming high? Do you know anything about these fire mages causing so much trouble? the ones who call themselves the Forsaken? And let me say, we're friendlier than we look. we're the good guys, friend.Persuasion23
Dangerous folks, or so they say, but I don't know about them. Except to stay away from the burning. I don't want to meet them, and I don't want to meet the Watch neither, if you know what I mean. Son, if you're looking for information about that type of folk, then.. he shrugs, suggesting he doesn't know much of use.
"Well thank you for the information, good man,"Incantis says, handing him the gold piece. "Tell me, any particular stories you heard of the Divlaynes? Other families they might by fighting with? Short of that, if you know anyone in those circles to be a good source of information."

He takes the gold piece happily. Oh, well, the Divlaynes. He eyes the gold piece. I could make something up, but you folks seem on the level. If you want the truth, you'll need to ask someone who knows this kind of thing. That would be in the Grinning Lion, up in the North Ward. That's where you hear all the good stories, about the nobs I mean. The bar staff can give you all the gossip, and if you pay well enough, some of it might even be true.
The man nods, and grins back. If you see Solani, tell her Frell says hello.
Your investigations and shopping have taken most of the day; you might want to gather tonight at the Blushing Mermaid before sunset and discuss options. Or Incantis and Dekhan could head straight for the Grinning Lion, if you prefer.
Well, Cantis, I'm for heading back to the Mermaid and letting the rest now what we've found out. These aren't times to be caught without friends to back you. What do you say?

Varinth has 35gp to blow on a pretty dress! Or something snobby looking ;)

Scupper considers that good enough and heads back to the boat to see what others may have gotten started on.
Once Varinth is happy with his purchase he will take his fancy self to the Blushing Mermaid to see if he can find the lads and show them off.
If there's time in the day, Strix will try to apply what he's learned below to get an idea of what buildings are above, especially any that look abandoned, and then head back to the Mermaid to skulk in a corner.

I’ll switch to the Mermaid upon finding it empty
