On celebration day Scupper will take part in much of the celebration, the weight of concern over his friends reaction lifted with their acceptance of him, as always to this point, seemingly without reservation. Mood lightened, he'll party and maybe even dance...a bit...
He'll politely as possible refuse to have "blasted flowers draped around me like some elf but thank you much all the same". Upon seeing the new arrivals, he'll keep near but make no attempt to introduce himself...waiting instead for a crewmate to start diplomacy and instead just looking imposing and dangerous in case they choose to be a problem.

After Varinth seems to have things at hand, he'll relax some and jest be ready for his friend.
Lotta timelines here, I'm putting this in what I believe to be chronological order
Incantis' favorite illusion for the keeds is a replica of the luminescent bats in his homecave.
"Nena, I'm pleased to meet you, you can call me Incantis. And I suppose I'm practicing thinking, in a way..." Incantis gives a rare chuckle. "It might be something you're interested in. I'm curious, why didn't you approach and play with the others? And why have you remained after they've gone?"
As the ceremony is being prepared, as well as during, Incantis will keep an eye on the musicians, wincing at the occasional off-key note. He'll pay a more keen mind to Hester's speech and how it's succinctness and brevity was so invigorating to the crowd. He takes a mental note. When Vaz approaches the three strangers he follows, lagging behind. Should they attack I've got your back; silver tongue I'll be among.
At the tavern, Incantis listens unwaveringly as Scupper recounts his tale, nodding knowingly at the effects of his new arcane powers. He pats the halfling's hand reassuringly, ignoring the chill that begins the slowly spread up his own arm. "Dark magick needn't be evil my friend, and mental whisperings are something I've oft a hand in. I'm always an ear, should you need one." He looks at Dekhan as the aasimar reminds them of their optional quest. "That seems like something I'd be interested in, I remember this banshee she mentioned and I'm always intrigued by the arcane."He gives Vaz an affectionate glance at his erratic input.
At some point, Incantis will return to the crevasse upon hearing Scupper's experience. It isn't often you meet a friendly abomination, and Incantis wants to make sure he stays so; he's curious if the creature knowledge regarding his Elder Star's movements.

Incantis, Nena replies Nice to meet you too. Incantis. Of course I'm interested. That's why I asked. Sometimes I join with the others, and sometimes I... don't. Sometimes it's nice just to watch. I like watching, and sometimes what I see is interesting. She looks at you quizzically. So, watcha doin'?
On the evening following the hanging, Strix puts the finishing touches on the etching.
Nice, though a bit to much self-aggrandisement if you ask me...
Didn't
...I mean putting aside how disappointingly ordinary and obvious your tendency towards male patterned fantasies of violence, revenge and affirmation are - an owl defeating a spider, reeeeeally? - are you not worried that you're getting dangerously close to some form of self-actualisation, which lets face can't actually happen because you have no self.
Quiet. Busy.
No your not. I am. Look up.
Strix is in a cave. It's not a bone dagger or a fine tipped scribe in his hand, it's a box with a lion on it. He knows this cave.
Yes, yes you do. Now be a dear and go back to sleep
If possible I'd like to retcon that the interaction with Nena takes place after the ceremony, if only for a minor detail below.
Incantis smiles in return, an increasingly frequent occasion for him. He's finding himself taking a liking to the young halfling; he enjoys her inquisitiveness and appreciation of the neutral jing, and sees in her a potentially like-minded spirit that he might inspire and leave a mark upon. Stars knows he could have used a role model, or at least someone to actually talk aloud to. "Sometimes the best thing to do is watch. And listen. Like I said, I've been practicing." He closes his eyes and begins to perform for Nena, softly at first so as not to startle her, but increasing in fervor and confidence as he proceeds. While before he was simply practicing the tones of his telepathic music in the same way a singer might run through their scales and exercises, now he puts on his song. His polyphonic and normally discordant voices coalesce into layers of eldritch harmony that weave against each other in cosmic counterpoint as he recites a verse to the young halfling in psychic song.
Nena the halfgirl, watchful and keen
peers from the shadows, and up in between
folk twice her size, with some half her brains.
She has many questions, yet silent remains.
I think you'll go far Nena, you have my blessing.
Never stay idle and always stay guessing
So keep an eye out upon heavens above;
great adventures they tell, of tragedy and love
With that, he opens his eyes and removes the wreath of flowers from his neck, bending down to place it around the halfling's instead.
Scupper gives one last good hard stare at the strangers and then smartly salutes Vaz and stands down. Looking and listening to the town party but there if needed in a shout...bodyguard style.
That's a total of two successes, which means that of your original stake of one gold piece, you recover the stake, and win an additional 1 gold and 5 silver pieces.
The card players are genuinely impressed by your skill, and you have a good time in their company. However, you've definitely cleaned them out; it will be a few weeks before they have any gambling money. You do learn, however, that some of the local business owners, including Tolben the Innkeeper, sometimes gather for a higher stakes game.
Incantis, Nena seems rapt as your telephathic music resonates in her mind. She looks less surprised that you might expect, though. As you put the flowers around her neck, she looks down at her feet for a moment, and then directly into your eyes. That was... beautiful. Can you come and visit my mama, please? Tonight or tomorrow. It doesn't have to be now. I think she'd like to hear your music. She looks at you hopefully.
Varinth, the leader of the group nods as the other two look on. Yes, indeed. That is to say, your mother sent us to follow you and deliver the letter if we could. As to whether you're in trouble, I wouldn't know. Just a messenger boy, me. He grins and shrugs affably.
Zoria, you passed a few evenings gambling to get that result, so if you want to join the bigger game, it will be at the end of the downtime tenday. Is there anything else you wish to accomplish during the daytime?
Scupper, some of the young halfling women are very keen to dance with you; do you join them?
Nothing in particular, other than talk to Sister Gaerelle about the details of her job that Daran wanted me to hear. Other than that, just the gambling!
Zoria, you find Daran Edermath enjoying a drink with some friends at one of the tables on the green, and he's happy to join you for a chat
You seem to be getting along well with those lads, doing some good work. It's a fine thing you've done for the town, the lot of you. I wish I could have given more to the reward fund, but I gave what I could.
Yes, well, I do have something I wanted some help with. But as I say, no money to pay, not right now. I heard reports, spoke to a miner or two. There's trouble at Old Owl Well, so they said. People have seen undead roaming round the place. It's an old watchtower, see, but old old, if you get my meaning. Hundreds, maybe a thousand years old. From old Netheril, is what I heard. Places like that, well, they throw up dangerous things from time to time. Things that should stay buried, or maybe be taken away. I can't be sure you'd find anything of value there, though you might, you might. But you'd be doing me and this town another favour getting rid of them before they become too big of a problem. What do you say?
Zoria trots to the table, pushing one of the chairs out of the way and listens to his words. "Yes, well, these guys aren't so bad. Can definitely hold their own in a fight. Seem to be earning a fair wage as well, so that's always an upside. You see, brother Daran, my time as a centaur is extremely valuable. I have to know things are worth my time." Zoria taps her finger on her chin. "Tell you what, I'll talk to my guys and see if they want to come along and take care of this undead problem, but I have to have some kind of assurance that if I don't find anything worth my time there, I will have something here waiting on me? You picking up what I'm putting down?"
Varinth, the leader of the group nods as the other two look on. Yes, indeed. That is to say, your mother sent us to follow you and deliver the letter if we could. As to whether you're in trouble, I wouldn't know. Just a messenger boy, me. He grins and shrugs affably.
Well Sirs followin' me of late must of been none too pleasant. Please, join the festivities, have a drink and thankyou for the letter. Varinth says amiably.
Vaz will find a quite table, or the nook of a Sitting Soodi if available, and read the letter.
Varinth, the man nods. That's right fine of you, sir. You come find us if you need us, all right? He turns to his friends, You heard Master Tannerman. Go easy on the ale, though. The other two groan, but nod, and the three head over to join the fun. You sit undisturbed by the decorative Soodi and open the letter. (Check your DMs.)
Zoria, Daran looks exasperated. I wish I had more to offer you, but as I say, you and your friend pretty much have everything I can spare. Same for most folks here. That fellow Sildar seems to have access to coin, though. I heard he was looking for some friend of his. That might get you some profit, if that's what you care about.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
It's a good day. The friends all seem fine with Scupper's changes and they know about Blinkie (who hopefully understands not to attack anyone from the town or the party...)
So he WILL accept a dance or two...and a drink or two...and another dance or two or three...though it will probably become clear that he doesn't control the icy temperature of his skin and his dancing in more in line with sea shanty jigs than any kind of couple dancing (and not necessarily all that good). Still, if the ladies don't mind dancing with the intimidating, icy cold, two left footed pirate...who is he to argue?

"Whoa whoa whoa friend, 'if that's what I care about'. It's not a matter of what I care about, it's the matter of what the world cares about! You just really have to think about it! Or maybe don't think about it too much. Anyways, gotta run!" Zoria nods to Daran and leaves to go inform the party of this new potential job.

He makes a little sign behind his back to indicate to Scupper that no one needs scalping here.

Sitting by Festive Soodi, Varinth tears up a bit while reading his letter. He folds it back together and rubs the seal for a while, deep in thought.
He then gets up with a look as though a decision has been made and starts off in search of something.
