Sorry to be thick - So does that mean Strix caught an arrow and threw it back as per rolls in last post? Or he can react to anything that happens from now?
It means you get to decide, so just let me know. Do you want to go with the reaction you already described, or choose something else?
Sorry, Scupper can only take reactions at the moment, until the next round starts. And I don't think he has any valid ones, because he wasn't attacked.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Okay, so to move things along, Strix does indeed deflect missiles with his reaction, the third arrow goes back towards Goblin 7 and strikes it dead with an interrupted squawk.
Group C: Vaz is up, but is surprised and cannot move or take an action.
Group D: Goblins 1, 2 and 3 are up next.
Goblins 1 and 2 move to strike Incantis, who is prone:
Attack: 24 Damage: 11
Attack: 15 Damage: 7
Goblin 3 attacks Scupper:
Attack: 18 Damage: 4
All three attacks hit, the vicious little scimitars digging into your flesh.
(Incantis and Scupper can both take reactions if you have them, as your turns have already passed).
Shield spell would stop that last one so I'm going to spend it. Even for 3 hp.
I'm going to activate mage armor, move action for cover now and cunning action for hide. I'll crawl if necessary since I'm just looking for a bush or tree.
Mage armour has faded and requires a full action to cast. Scupper is engaged with four enemies, and will provoke four Opportunity Attacks if he moves away, unless he disengages. He can crawl, but at half speed, so only ten feet. Please give me an exact grid reference for this if he moves. 4
(C5 is the campfire, and there aren't any bushes, only small trees nearby).
I guess the map popped up late for me. I didn't realize i was hosting a boot party. So no spell casting, still prone, can I withdraw 5 feet towards Inky or do they still get opportunity attacks...not used to being prone. Can I drink a potion or is that also an AOO? Deception roll to play dead?
Spellcasting doesn't provoke an attack of opportunity. You can use disengage as an action or, because of Scupper's rogueness, as a bonus action. On balance, I would suggest he stands up, so that future attacks on him don't have advantage. You might also consider dodge?
Sorry, saw the map just before bed time but it's blocked at work and I picked today to forget my phone! If I recall correctly, Strix was engaged with 1 guy, there were a bunch around Scupper, Dekhan and Vaz were north and east of the campfire, incantis and Zoria were above scupper and also get pin-cushioned. And there's no convenient cover nearby unless Dekhan counts :P
Am I right in thinking that if I cast Darkness (which Darksight can't see though), while that puts the Goblins at disadvantage attacking it also gives them advantage against a target that can't see them so they cancel and there's no material gain? Unless it also cancels advantage due to prone targets? I think it would prevent opportunity attacks though so you don't need to spend your action Disengaging. But it slows movement which you're already short of and sure Scupper's a rogue and doesn't need a full action to disengage anyway? Not sure that's a great plan then. That would leave me with trying to beat up the guy in front of me and running like ****, while you guys distract them by blocking their knives with your vital organs...?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OK, I'm going to have to trust my memory of the map that there's no convenient cover, and that I'm only in range of 1 of the goblins. I don't think any of my limited casting options buy us any time. I don't have any area-of-effect options. I'm on 5HP and have a mediocre AC so I can't just dive in front of our beleaguered halfling. So I guess I'm just punching the guy in front of me and hoping for the best. Plan is to hit him with advantage (spending my inspiration), hopefully put him down, bonus action to Shift for the 5 temp HP and hopefully survive another round, then move in between Zoria/Incantis and Scupper to split the next round of attacks and cross my fingers there's another round :D
BTW, can anyone remember who took the 2nd healing potion from Blinky's chest? Would now be a convenient time to try to convince yourself and your DM that it was you?
Strix continues screaming the alarm while thrusting his staff from the shoulder down towards where he assumes a goblin's loins are
stop thinking about Ika, this is life or death, man!
Quarterstaff : Attack: 21 Damage: 11
(Bonus action : Shift. Temp HP : <level + con mod> = 5)
The sickening crunch of wood on loin, the scent of blood flowing from his own wounds, the clamour of goblins, the whootsch of arrows - it's all a bit much really. He feels the animal overtake him as he bounds towards (Grid ref unavailable, north of Scupper, south of Incantis, 10ft from Goblin line) and screeches.
I can heal Strix on my turn! May not be a super lot, but it should still help.
Thanks, but with the Deflection earlier negating 1 hit and the Temp HP from shifting, Strix is back to 10 HP and can probably take another hit. (I have assumed his last hit killed it's target though, otherwise he wouldn't have moved!) Scupper's probably in worse shape. Alternatively it might be worth looking at how many HP you can heal vs the potential loss in damage output the goblins suffer if you put one down. They came looking for easy meat in a 10 v 6 situation. Now it's 8 v 6 and we're no longer surprised or prone. If you can make it 7 v 6 so much the better!
The reason I chose healing word is because it's a bonus action, so I can still whack a hoe and heal! But if Scupper is lower, then I can heal him. Whoever is closer to death, and more likely to hit 0. You guys just let me know.
Strix's vicious quarterstaff goes straight for the goblin's private parts, right through them, and then up in a skewering motion. From the goblin's brief but intense screams, it was as painful as it looked. You see Strix transform, as you have before, his animal form coming out as he moves (to D5).
Scupper, you manage to stand, somewhat shakily. Seeing yourself surrounded, you rely on your nimbleness and dodge around, avoiding several scimitar swings and you sprint to D6, as Strix is blocking the path towards Dekhan. You take a defensive stance and stare at the goblins, daring them to give chase.
Incantis is up.
Need confirmation from Incantis about whether he cast Shield at any point. But I assume that Mage Armor would have faded by this hour, so his AC is 13?
I think that Darkness does what you say, and cancels out all advantage and disadvantage. It definitely prevents Opportunity Attacks.

Remember that everyone except Strix starts prone.
Sorry...yes. I have no reaction moves available if they're at range.

Group E: Dekhan and Zoria are surprised and cannot move or take reactions. They are still prone on the ground.
Group F: Goblins 8, 9 and 10 are up.
Goblin 8 goes for Strix:
Attack: 19 Damage: 6
Goblins 9 and 10 for Scupper:
Attack: 22 Damage: 5
Attack: 15 Damage: 3
More vicious pinpricks, now starting to add up.
(Again, take reactions if you have them and we'll adjust damage accordingly).
Group A is up: Strix, Scupper and Incantis (in any order) Scupper and Incantis are prone.
Yeah, Zoria has no reaction options for that round.

Based on the watch time...guessing no mage armor
So my AC is what right now? 13 or 10?
Shield spell would stop that last one so I'm going to spend it. Even for 3 hp.

So i can dodge while prone?
How about dodge (action) - stand (move) - disengage (cunning action)?

Towards those with HP haha...Dekhan and Zoria -- D6? Help me my heroes! 😍
"Aigh! By the 22 hells! They've killed me! Avenge me! Or at least wake up and kill sometin' and get me a drink!"
