Varinth is now functioning in a different reality.
Burn, burn them all. Burn it all. It doesn't deserve it. No one. Oh Gods THE TROLL! THE TROLL IS IN THE CAVE! ohgodsohgodsohgods
Varinth suddenly jumps up screaming, eyes wild. His deafening scream turns into a guttural chant as he strides, then jogs toward the cave entrance, tearing off his burning jerkin. His determination defying his inebriation, you could swear his large tattoo is pulsing red as though all his blood is pumping into it. Ignoring all else, if he manages to get to the entrance of the cave, he stops, swings his arms and points them into the inky depths.
Burn them all. KATHOOM!
Burning hands : 9 Damage: 5
Tides of Chaos: 14
LOL. I'm not sure casting Confusion on himself is not going to make much of a difference right now.
Scupper aims his shortbow at Goblin 3 and fires, but the arrow goes wide.
Strix sees Asher wounded and surrounded by goblins, just as the unknown man had been moments before. He rushes up to Goblin 3; his first attack with the staff goes wide, but the second unarmed strike hits and the goblin goes down, dead.
It's Asher's turn, and he faces three goblins in front and to his side (Goblins 1, 2 and 5). Goblin 1 looks confident, but then looks surprised; though Asher is wounded and momentarily the pain flashes on his face, it is almost immediately followed by a cold, hard expression that promises death, and there's a whistling as the glaive swings through the air. There's a ripping sound, as the weapon tears into Goblin 1, almost casually parting its head from its body, then a crunch as the weapon spins and strikes Goblin 2's chest, caving it in entirely. The two goblins before Asher fall to the ground, almost in unison, and as Asher turns to his right to face Goblin 5, there is an unmistakable promise in his smile.
Seeing the path before her cleared, Mistweaver darts forward, jumping over the bodies of goblins, and reaches the unconscious form of the unknown man. If nothing else, we know this man is no friend to these creatures; I believe he will aid us now. She grabs the one Goodberry she retained from the earlier fight, puts it in the man's mouth, and massages his throat so that he swallows it.
Dekhan, you come suddenly to consciousness; you are lying prone, but your training kicks in, and you are alert and can see the battlefield clearly. You are at 1 HP.

Goblin 7 rushes up to aid Goblin 5, who now faces Asher alone. Asher barely needs to move; it's almost a flick of the wrist, and the glaive aligns with the running form and Goblin 7 is impaled, instantly dead. Asher, you feel a surge of courage and determination spread through you, as you know that you have single-handedly turned the tide of this battle.
Asher, take a DM inspiration for being such a beast.
Goblin 8 backs away about twenty feet, alarmed at the deaths he has seen, and draw his shortbow. He hesitates as he seeks a target, and finally settles upon Asher as the greatest threat.
Attack: 16 Damage: 8. That hits, but Asher's expression does not waver, and it would take a practiced eye to know how close to falling he is. Goblin 8 backs away still further.
Vaz stands and moves to the side, avoiding the goblins in combat with Asher, and then heads towards the cave mouth. He screams, removing hsi burning clothes, which seem to extinguish themselves as they fall to the ground. After a few feet, he stops, and turns back to the battle; After fifteen feet he stops, turns his hands toward Goblin 6 (who is hiding behind a tree), and shoots a cone of flames in front that catches Goblin 6 from the side: 2114. (6 damage). The goblin blazes and falls down to the ground, instantly charred.
Vaz, Tides of Chaos doesn't have a roll associated with it as such. You can just use it, and then give yourself advantage on the next roll, whatever it is. You seemed to give yourself disadvantage on the Burning Hands attack roll, so I interpreted Tides of Chaos to mean it was supposed to be advantage, is that right? In which case, the 18+1 hit.
I (as in me) is going to jump in a pool for an hour as it's roughly four million degrees here right now. As Varinth is drunk and confused I believe he will be handled by the Indomitable Mr Steve for now. Should Varinth come back to his senses at any point he will do as follows;
Should Varinths brain return to him he suggests to the party members that he set up a fire at the mouth of the cave and blow the smoke in, getting the rest of the vermin out for our own ambush. If all are in agreement he will do just that.
On his turn Dekhan blinks up at the woman kneeling over him. He stands and nods to herI owe you one, maybe more than one, thank you. He then lays hands on himself for 5 hp. feeling somewhat renewed, he bangs his sword against his shield and charges towards the nearest goblin.

Dario breaks the arrow sticking out from him and winces in pain, but regains focus and watches Asher take down a handful of goblins. The psychopath can fight at least, Dario thinks to himself. He notches another arrow into his bow and moves forward towards Goblin 8 and takes aim at the green ugly beast as it retreats.

Goblin 8 drops instantly, its unmoving form now almost completely hidden in the tall grass.
Goblin 5 turns and flees, not into the cave, but off to the east. It gets 60 feet and then attempts to hide: 15. Unsuccessfully. It is still quite visible to all, moving through the long grass up the hillside. Scupper, Strix and Asher can go next, bearing in mind that the goblin is already 60 feet away.

Can Strix use his movement and action to throw Scupper to decrease the range of Scupper's shot?
Otherwise I don't think he can close enough distance to throw the handaxe well. But, after 30ft movement west, throwing 30ft with disadvantage, here goes
If Scupper misses, that definitely hits and kills the last remaining goblin. Scupper, please do take your shot though, as the kill is probably yours if you hit.
Either way, the immediate threat is over. The bodies of eight dead goblins litter the area, and there is a stranger - who was fighting the goblins, but otherwise who you know nothing about - standing in your midst. There’s also the wide open cave mouth - there’s no sign of anything coming out, nor any sounds that you can detect. What do you want to do?
I reload this page a half dozen times with no change. Then after i post something, i find out there's been a half a dozen posts this whole time. Evidently i have to find a different way to reload pages on my phone.
Dekhan sheathes his sword and slings his shield onto his back. He sighs and then laughs. I am in your debt, all of you. I'd be finishing the night in a stew pot if you all hadn't showed up. My Name is Dekhan Vale, I'm a Paladin so if I can be of service to you, my sword is yours. And although you didn't see the proof, I do know how to use it and I can offer a little bit in the way of healing as well. Who are you all? And how did you end up outside this goblin den?
Goblins don't make stew much as you think. My guess is you would have been roasted on a spit. Slow turned while they laugh and squeal at their fortune. We're here because our source of coin was captured. Though i guess there's sure to be some kind of moral imperative or some such thing for a couple of us...or straight blood lust in Asher's case. That lad splits goblins open like they was sacks of gold. Good work at that by the way, Asher.

Scupper will aim for the retreating goblin and try to get him before he escapes.
We'll be having none of that! You joined this fight. No backsies!
Shortbow 8 damage 8
I think we're saying he's no longer threatened and I lose my sneak attack (if Im wrong then here it is: 2
I havent hht the broadside of a barn yet so no harm but i realize my short bow damage dice is wrong
Dekhan, you are conscious, but prone, and have 1 HP, but you have your full turn now.

Dekhan, Mistweaver seems startled by your words, but says nothing.
Initiative Order: Round Three

I'll see your pool, and raise you another intercontinental flight. I'll be on tomorrow afternoon-ish. :)
Smoking them out could kill our employers if they're not able to leave...but with 15+ goblins left, I'm not sure we want em all at once

To hit 7 for 9 dmg
Edit : last of the Mohicans!
Scupper has dibs though in init order.
Strix, Shifter Shadow Monk in Lost Mines of Phandelver ¦ Sihegiall Human Soulknife Rogue in In Search of Molly McGuffin
If Scupper misses, that definitely hits and kills the last remaining goblin. Scupper, please do take your shot though, as the kill is probably yours if you hit.

Scupper will fire another shot at Goblin 8 if and when he can. Otherwise he'll go for any wounded target.
Attack 18 damage 4
