Incantis looks out and the fungus, grateful he did not venture forth. "Are we to proceed this way then? Strix you spoke with the skull, did he provide any insight?"

At the moment, a great many of the spores are still intact, as Varinth has only burnt one small patch away. You reckon that he could burn most, perhaps all, of the fungus away, with Scupper's assistance, in only a few minutes.
(I will wait for Tobbence to confirm what he wants to do.)

Much as I'd love to hit the Spider with a bunch of spores...and anything else...we may find ourselves getting hit just as much in the harvest. Still...i xan always assist from out here...givin' advice and the like.
(I believe I can assist any one person within 30ft in each round and give them advantage with the Mastermind perk...that I continually forget I have)
Does anyone have the kind of survival skills needed to make anything worth while out of something like this? Poison maybe? I know what yer thinkin' but I only use it...not makin' the shite.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Strix shrugs.
(My understanding of 5e is that it requires proficiency with the poisoner's kit and a bunch of downtime to do. Alas, I have no such luxuries! Proficiency in Survival might be enough to recognise the fungus though? Survival : 16)
Strix, you know enough about poisons to know that someone else could possibly craft a useful poison from this fungus, but you don't have the required skill or tools. It's unlikely that simply grabbing a bag of mushrooms and throwing it at someone would have much impact in a combat situation. As for this particular fungus, you don't recognise it as such, but it looks similar enough to others that you've seen that you believe this poison gas is likely its only defense.
Slowly, patch by patch, Varinth and Scupper set about the task of cleansing the cavern and burning the fungus. It takes time; the gas would build up too fast if you rushed it, so you spend close to half an hour slowly and methodically purging the area of fungus. When you are done, the floor is covered with blackened charred stalks and ash. The route to the north exit seems clear.
Strix, you fail to notice several piles of broken, charred stalks and kick them as you pass; however, they are not particularly noisy. You pass through the burned fungus cavern without problem.
On the far side, the short tunnel leads, as you might have expected, to a familiar cavern with glittering gems dotting its ceiling; you are at the far southern end of the cavern, with a large man-made building to the right, and then, further ahead and to the north, a similar building.
Scupper, you're tracking along with Strix, much quieter and able to see a little more. You see pretty much what he does; the cavern, the two buildings, and not much else so far. If you want to go take a look at anything in particular, let me know what.
Strix, if you want to roll an extra d20 for advantage on the stealth roll you already made, be my guest. So far you don't see any creature in the cavern, nor do you hear any movement from inside the nearby building.

Well it'll take some time but it's better than finding out what that gas does to us...that said, I tink I can help a bit.
(If Vaz does creat bonefire, I can use control flames to expand it another 5 feet each time)
Strix keeps an eye on the fungus's reaction time to Vaz and Scuppers shenanigans, gauging that he can cross it in about 3 seconds.

Anyone think they could harvest one of those spores without setting it off? It could give us an edge with the spider...
Varinth, obviously a little grumpy, says
Am I burning this lot or not?
He wiggles his fingers at the fungi, apparently to portray his readiness to burn.

I’m not sure it’s advisable, or even possible, just an idea. But if we’re not going to try to harvest I say we blaze a trail.

Varinth, upon seeing Scupper expand the flames, does the same.
