(Woohoo! 2 - but you're setting a weird precedent where we'll help eachother and scout in advantage-rolling pairs :D )
Strix will go take a listen at that door. Perception : 17
(Gaaah! Help me, Scupper! you're my only hope!)
EDIT : quick point on the map - while that snippet Steve has shown us looks like it's the same cave we ran through earlier, that cave begins a good 40 feet north of the end of the snippet above - so it's a really big cave and the 2 buildings have 2 different entrances.
Or my cobbled together MSPaint map has a glaring error :D
We'll explore how to make it work in a way that makes sense and is balanced. But as far as I can see, what Scupper's doing - making his own stealth check and assisting yours - is strictly RAW. Help is such a big part of the Mastermind subclass, I feel it should be usable as much as possible. However, in this case I would say he's already helping your stealth and can't do your perception at the same time.
Strix tries the handle and if it turns, he'll move to one side and push it open with his staff.
Gotcha. I'm not complaining, by the way - it just sounded too good to be true!
Edit : It *is* too good to be true - Sorry, I never noticed he's a Mastermind. D'oh! So he can help me but I can't help him if I'm doing other things. I feel terrible - it's ages since I looked at anyone's character sheet!
The door doesn't open; you didn't notice before, but now that you are actually trying to open the door, you see that the hinges are partially melted and the door will need to be forced.
Is everyone else coming up behind Strix, or staying in the cavern of burnt fungus?
Dekhan will move forward slowly and as stealthily as he can to maintain a safe distance behind Scup and Strix. When he sees that the door is stuck he’ll move up to attempt to force it if that’s what we want to do and if neither Scup nor Strix give him the sign to stay put.
Assuming that Scupper and Strix don't objective, give me a Strength check. This is something that others could help with, so you can make it at advantage.
Dekhan sets his feet and leans into the door gritting his teeth in exertion 6 ((if athletics is usable here it would be an additional +2.)) ((wow, that’s fantastic.))

Dekhan claps his hands together forcefully Come on! he’s used to his supernatural abilities being unreliable but his own physicality failing him threatens to infuriate him. His face takes on a rictus like snarl and he slams his shoulder into the door with a growl. 22 ((Wooo! again +2 if athletics applies!))
(Let me know who's helping, though it doesn't matter enormously...)
Dekhan, with the power of teamwork and your mighty muscles, you push again at the door, and this time you feel the strength surging through your arms and legs as you push, and push, and... the hinges give way and the door flies off and lands at the back of the room with a crash. You just manage to steady yourself and avoid tumbling after it.
You are now able to see inside the building. Dust, ash, walls blackened by fire, and heaps of debris beneath the sagging ceiling show that this room was damaged by a destructive blast - probably long in the past. The furnishings — tables, chairs, bookshelves, beds — are charred or splintered, but otherwise well preserved. A scorched iron chest stands near the foot of one of the beds. You can see that there is a small closed door leading south.
Dekhan, you don't even really get a chance to look around. As soon as you enter the room, a shadowy figure emerges from the floor, floating upwards between you and the iron chest. It is a spirit, but definitely humanoid in shape; you would guess human from the face, though it is twisted in anger and hatred and its eyes glow orange as it gazes at you. A horrible, whispering voice comes to you, cracked and broken but still clear: Your presence is offensive to me, your life forfeit. My treasures are mine alone, not yours to plunder!
My fate is my own choice, living creature, the wraith responds, the broken, dead voice chilling you as you look upon the hideously twisted apparition before you. My possessions will not be taken by thieving hands. I have made many servants to keep bandits and brigands from my door; have you cut your way through them, I wonder. It matters not. You shall take NOTHING!!! This last is delivered as though a scream, though the volume does not rise and the wraith does not, as yet, move to attack you. Yet you see it tremble with the force of its anger as it utters the word.
Dekhan looks back to his compatriots for a sign of what to do and tries to remember what he knows about Wraiths. (Religion? History?) We did not know they were your servants and we did not come here to steal your treasures. Only to recover a friend who was brought here by an interloper, the dark elf who violates your sanctum.

Dekhan, the door creaks a little but remains unopened. You can continue to try if you wish, though the DC will increase.

Dekhan lowers his sword and makes a placating gesture. Hold, spirit, I am not your enemy. Who doomed you to this fate?

"you are friend of Skull? He ok. Broke, but is all better!" Strix announces, giving a thumbs up.

Dekhan, you can make a Religion check. Anyone else who wishes to do so can also make the attempt.
I doubt you could defeat it for long. It has been a useful watchdog, yes. The sneer on the wraith's expression is unmistakable.
