Flameskull? Wraith? Young man, I am busy, please approach me with more sensible questions. I am here, as you should already have been informed, to ensure that no unauthorised persons gain access to the Forge of Spells. It looks briefly over at the brazier that stands atop the stone pedestal, before the large main eye looks once again at Strix and Dekhan. If you are authorised to enter, please show the pass document, signed and stamped by Archmage Crellethar. Otherwise, please maintain a safe distance.
The floating eyeball definitely said Archmage Cuticle, who is a figure from a comic fairy tale you recall from your childhood; he got his comeuppance at the hands of a humble, pious young street urchin if you remember rightly.
Someone should tell the poor bastard what we've been telling all these poor bastards. The Black Spider got around you and already has access to yer bleeding forge and while every pass from archmage whatsawhositz is likely 1000 year old dust by now, a drow wizard of evil intent, who also doesn't have a pass, is about to start up the bleeding forge under their feckin noses...or something te that effect.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"so.. what year lotseyes think this? Forge lost. Cave stroyed. How long lotseyes been here? .... How long Strix been here.... Days? Months....?" He shakes his head till the bad thoughts fall out. "Lotseyes - vreeone dead. No stamp. No pass. Nuthin. Not want forge. Keep forge. Want help. Lotseyes help?"
And God help me, that sounds like an attempt at persuasion : 14 -1 so 9
The creature blinks its massive eye a couple more times. Lost? What in the world are you talking about, it's over there and perfectly fine. With one of its eye stalks it prods in the air towards the brazier. The archmage has clearly departed on business, but we are expecting him back very soon. I suggest you return to your assigned quarters and speak to him about a pass when he returns.
Scupper, can you confirm who you're talking to - was that aimed at Strix and Dekhan, or at the creature?
Strix makes a twirly finger "this guy is nuts" gesture at his head.
OK he's mental. But he's not a ghoul and he's not a skull and he's not a ghost. So far, everything we've had to worry about has been dead. And he's saying that brazier in the corner is the forge, and talking about this place like it's still running. The wraith knew he was dead, and the skull in the furnace room can't be an original feature, he'd have been a nightmare for health and safety in the workplace. Ditto the ghouls and the big ****-off jelly. But this guy *is* an original feature, or at least thinks he is. Can one of you smooth talkers try and convince him that the Archmage sent us? Or maybe we can find something that would pass for a pass in the Wraith's room now we know what we're looking for (I'm guessing the magically preserved books were in there?) or that room with all the crumbling papers from aaaaages ago? If we can convince him we're with the mining operation he might even tell us how the forge works, then we can get Strix the awesome kung-fu dragon wrestling mask he's always dreamed of...? #squadgoals
Scupper starts to walk over to the door...expecting the worst but stopping short of actually verifying whatever demon they've happened upon this time.
If someone is attempting to talk down a monster or some shite like we tried with that flamin' skull, let me know. I'd be willin' te bet I can offer a few choice words. (I can give advantage to someone if I know they're going to speak)
I nominate Dekhan since this will be more about charisma anyway and I'll be able to give you advantage, "tell him about the Spider..." Type stuff. Also, I think weekends are bad for Incantus
Why don’t we see if we can locate the “pass” back in the wraith’s room, or at least a little more info to make our story more authentic? Then we can give it a shot.

What are the chances Dekhan has heard of Archmage Crellethar? Or that he knows where Archmages hang out?
Make a History check.

ALRIGHT!
The floating eyeball definitely said Archmage Cuticle, who is a figure from a comic fairy tale you recall from your childhood; he got his comeuppance at the hands of a humble, pious young street urchin if you remember rightly.
Yes... that sounds right.

Scupper is just yelling from his current position since he can hear it in his head...his attitude has softened somewhat about telepathy.
I nominate Incantis for taking the lead as Dek is completely out of his depth arcana wise, he will aid charismatically though.
Jolly good. Incantis, you're up. Dekhan, how are you helping?
Generally speaking just piping in to Incantis’ explanation. I’ll have to see what he says first.

Yes, that's true. I'm not going to pilot Incantis for something like this, so we can wait or Dekhan can take over, it's up to you guys.
Truth is, I doubt we're gonna convert this thing. Maybe just shut the door and "go back to our quarters". Spider awaits.

We can check but Strix looked through the chest. Scupper will start tearing through the place looking for anything not previously discovered.

But this us NOT my specialty (if anyone else wants to try looking with me, I'll give them advantage)
