Dario looks over at Asher, but his attention is drawn to Incantis and his brief flash of magic.
Asher sees the new man, assuming to be the source of the voice, given the magical energy in his hands. "Well, another odd one, but he does seem to have some knowledge of the arcane arts. He may prove useful yet. We needn't waste too much time here, I say we take a short break for maybe an hour if most of us need a little time to recover."
Dario sighs, and then looks up at Asher. "I apologize for my shortness earlier. The fray of battle has shortened by nerves a bit. But I agree with you, A short rest will do us a good. Maybe the seven us should split up too," Dario says. He squat down on his haunch and takes out the remaining Goodberries and holds them out in his hand "If anyone wants to their share of berries, here they are."
Incantis nods gratefully at Dekhan's words, his face making a subtle smile, while at the same time making a placating gesture in Asher's direction. This goblin isn't to be trusted though, not after ambushing Incantis alone in the woods with several goblins and taunting him, chained next to the wolves. Projecting his telepathy to include everyone in the room, Incantis fixes the goblin with a piercing gaze. You're not lying to us, are you greenskin?
Very astute of you, my friends. If we can persuade Yeemik and his goblins to fight with us against Klarg it would make things a great deal easier.
if the party agrees to speak to Yeemik Dekhan will pick up Ko’s dagger
Ko, here you may need this in the coming fight. Lead the way, and um, make sure Yeemik knows we’re coming to talk. And how terrible a foe Scupper is when he’s angry, and while we’re on that, the man, with the glaive? Impress upon Yeemik that he is NOT to be trifled with. I’m on his side and I’m scared of him.
"That would explain the two forces going against each other we found near the mouth of the cave. It would be nice to somehow find out whose forces came out on top, so that we may exploit that."
" If he wants to talk, I doubt he won. Might be the bugbear would swap this Yeemik's head for our employer? All of him, ideally. I'd wager that would be the easier fight too"
"Let's not forget that Klarg works for someone...this spider fella. He's not likely to trade on that. We'll get no honest deal from him without his employer's permission"
"Let's not forget that Klarg works for someone...this spider fella. He's not likely to trade on that. We'll get no honest deal from him without his employer's permission"
"Scupper brings up a good point," Asher agrees. "Maybe we can aid Yeemik in taking out Klarg and he can aid us in overtaking the Black Spider and getting our employer back?"
Varinth weaves his way through the crowd to Incantis. They seem to have the goblin thing in hand. he thinks
Evening Sir, name's Varinth but most call me Vaz. I know you've been through a bit but can I ask if you have seen a dwarf by the name Rockseer whilst you've been here? And have you heard mention of this Yeemik before?
As Vaz is talking to Icky he will search the antechamber for flammables, an amount equivalent to a bedroll. Straw and the like. Then if there is sufficient about, he will tie it up with Icky's bindings and heft it over his shoulder, satchel like.
"That would explain the two forces going against each other we found near the mouth of the cave. It would be nice to somehow find out whose forces came out on top, so that we may exploit that."
No on top. Many goblins dead. Too many. Tribe small now. Two small small tribes. Not good. Not win. Ko says all this very matter of fact.

No. Not lie. Not fight. Incantis, you can see that Ko is exhausted, defeated, that the events of this day have shattered his world and that he has no idea what the future holds. He’s been given a mission, to get the party to come and talk to his boss, and he’s clinging to that purpose because it’s all he can think of to do.
As requested by Dekhan, Ko leads the party along the tunnel to the north. As you leave the wolf cave behind, the light from the cave mouth dims and eventually disappears, so those of you without night vision will need some sort of light.
After perhaps eighty feet, the tunnel splits into two, left and right, and Ko signals down the left-hand path. Yeemik, he says again, pointing left. Chief. Klarg. he says, pointing right. Stupid. Mad. There seems to be real anger in his words, but it only lasts a moment before he deflates and once again points left. Come.
Please confirm that you wish to follow Ko to the left, or not. :) Wherever you go, I'll also need a marching order, unless you're happy with the same plan as before. Also let me know what, if any, light source you have with you.
If someone could cast light on something, Scupper'll carry it (or he'll use a torch) so those with darkvision can stay to shadows. Scupper will walk towards the front keeping Ko within the sphere of that light. Anyone without darkvision would be able to keep within at least dim light nearby.
Any objections to that?
"I'll certainly not be wandering into a lair where lay a bugbear with wounded pride. They's bastards enough when they's feelin's aint hurt"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Asher follows the group. He doesn't have darkvision, so if someone is holding a torch or the light cantrip he will be behind the source of light that is closest to the beginning of the march order. Hopefully that makes sense. Also, leaving for work so if combat is required, Asher's rolls are in the spoiler:
Action: Glaive Attack: Attack: 22 Damage: 10
Great Weapon Fighting: If the damage is 1 or 2 use the following roll, otherwise ignore: 10
That's a majority in favour of going ahead, so we'll move forward. No-one so far has indicated they will use a light spell, so we'll assume for the moment that Scupper is carrying a torch. Feel free to retcon that if you wish.
You follow Ko, and after walking forward and slightly down for a minute or so, you emerge from the tunnel into a cavern, perhaps forty feet across. Half the chamber opposite from you is raised about two feet, and there is a small staircase that leads up to the raised level. In this raised area, you can see four goblins, one holding a wolf by a chain similar to those you saw before. One goblin steps onto the topmost stair as you enter the area, scimitar drawn, looking at the leaders of the group and at Ko; she’s not actually hostile, but gives the impression that this could change easily, if things go bad.
On the near side of the cavern where you are, there are four wounded goblins lying on the ground or on makeshift beds; Ko walks over to them and slumps to the ground, the fight apparently gone from him now that his mission is completed.
From the raised far side, one of the goblins shouts. Stop. He reaches down and pulls up something that was on the ground. You see that it is the shape of a human, a man; he has been beaten and severely wounded, so much so that it’s easy to see dried blood and bruises at this distance. Those of you who met face to face with Gundren in Neverwinter (Dario, Scupper, Asher and Varinth), you recognise this man; his name is Sildar, and he was with Gundren in that meeting. You remember that he watched you all closely and said very little; Gundren let you know that he and Sildar would be travelling together to Phandalin together.
As the goblin pulls Sildar up, you see that he is awake, bound and gagged. The goblin’s scimitar is at Sildar’s throat, and the goblin eyes you and repeats: Stop. Talk. Or human die. Ko raises his hand and points to the goblin holding Sildar. Yeemik he says.
"Yeemik, me Strix. (Oh gods, I sound like the oaf.)
Ko say Yeemik want talk. Ko say Yeemik make deal. Ko no mention Yeemik timewasting savage.
That Human no pay me. That Human barely acquaintance. So kill human. Then many goblin die. Choppy choppy, stabby stab. But Yeemik live. Yeemik eat many dead goblin. Then Yeemik puke, make room, eat rest of dead goblins. Then Yeemik eat puke. Then... Yeemik get the idea, Strix very patient when it suit Strix, but Yeemik do much recycling, let's put it that way. Then Yeemik beg. Then Yeemik die. Maybe.
Or... Yeemik admit that Yeemik very much up creek and Yeemik forgot paddle. Yeemik stop wasting Strix's time. Yeemik tell Strix what he want. Yeemik help Strix find other prisoner, him pay Strix. Then Strix and Yeemik...um... Heap big friends? What says Yeemik?
By the way I don't speak for the group, but I warn you I'm the reasonable one."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
It’s true, Strix doesn’t speak for the group. In a gesture of good faith, if you release the human I could provide some small healing to one of your people. Then we could begin negotiations. Yeemik, we can be of use to eqch other. Please hear the wisdom in my words.

If Scupper would prefer one of his blades be blazing or something else we can retcon that Dekhan cast light on said object. Sorry, speaking of big boy steps I’ve been looking at engagement rings...
