Hearing Incantis's plan, Strix squints a little and tugs at some shadowstuff, forming a crude image of 4 men in armour. He rolls this up and stretches it back out into a dynamic image of strix punching an inexpressive face. Then he balls this one up to and pizza-cheeses his hands apart, revealing Strix again but in the blank faced man's armour.
I suppose the most interesting thing we've been hearing about recently are these magical bandits. Have you heard anything about them? Dekhan says as he takes a sip from his beer.
as Strix does his shadow panto Dekhan watches with a smile on his face giving a solid golf clap at the end.
Before when Incantis mentions the thugs. Perhaps we should follow the men when we finish our drinks. Catch them unawares and while they're on their own, thin their numbers out even further.
Well, of course they've been causing no end of troubles for folks and burning down the city and everything, the bartender replies. People are talking about how the Watch isn't having much success against them, but our lads and lasses in uniform will get the job done, mark my words. Or if this is something more sinister, there are always brave souls ready to take up the fight, isn't that right?
My goodness, that's quite some skill there sir. They both pause what they are doing to regard Strix's handiwork. Are you a performer?
(I think that's enough to save a drink from spilling.)
Clown? Oh, how marvellous. Yes, it was very good. A little hard to follow, but I imagine the full show is something to see. You are also an adventurer? A bard perhaps?
Being that Scupper is unfortunately well familiar with halfling friendliness and hosting, he's interested in whether these two match the surroundings (is this a rough place?) And if they appear at all elusive or overly optimistic. He sits in a corner waiting for Incantus and watches the pair like a hawk. Are they genuine? Are they a front? Do they seem overly rosy? Do they appear more interested when someone mentions the mages? Do they disguise any overt interest?
The sound is strangely appealing - not pleasant as such, but striking and engaging rather than off-putting. The patrons seem unsure what to make of it, but the two bartenders seem genuinely enthralled by the performance, and lead an enthusiastic round of applause as you finish.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Dekhan smiles with pride and admiration as Strix comes out of his social shell a bit and taps his foot with no small amount of enthusiasm as he performs his flute solo. Well done, Strix! Well done! Dekhan then turns his attention back to the bartender and tries to decide from what she’s said so far if she’s on the level. Does she really support the watch? Did she let anything slip subconsciously while talking about the bandits? insight19
Dekhan, you don't get any sense of dishonesty from the bartender, more that she's putting a brave face on something that worries her a bit more than she's admitting.
Dekhan smiles at the bartender in a reassuring manner. I admire your bravery and your strength miss, and I can tell you that your faith is not misplaced He leans in a bit and says in a more hushed tone My friends and I happen to be some of those brave souls you're speaking of. My doughty fellows and I have already done for quite a few of their number and we will not be satisfied until they are completely routed and brought to the Light. He smiles his most winning smile So, any detail you may have gathered, however small or seemingly unimportant it may seem, could in fact help us in our mission to free Waterdeep of these bandits.
I... don't know anything that can help you. Only that the Watch is worried. More than they've told folks. This is a bad business, but... if you can find a way to face them down, I've no doubt the City will reward you well. But be careful. You seem a good sort.
Some more patrons enter and come to the bar; the bartender seems a little relieved to be able to speak to them and get away from you; her face loses its worried look and returns to its apparent normal state of bubbly good cheer.
Yes, actually. Varinth replies to the bartender. He downs his beverage and stands at the window looking out. The knot in his stomach gets a little tighter.
Are we waiting for something here? I've forgotten what we're doing? Are we meant to go to a hideout?
Dekhan's face falls a bit as the bartender walks away but with a quick shake of his head head his smile returns. Aye, Vaz, we could head to the hideout, but I think taking the ones Zhudula is following by surprise could be a good way to thin their numbers a bit. Any information we could get from them could be invaluable as well. He finishes his ale and sets the tankard back down on the bar. I say we be about it. Let's waylay these bandits while they're separatedfrom the herd.
Not today my friend, the bartender replies breezily. Why, have you lost one?
Zhudala appears so far to be unnoticed by anyone.

Scupper is happy te talk with Incantus and see what's on his mind. He'll keep far from the happy halflings as they make his skin crawl.

When the bartender addresses him, Strix jerks his arms in suddenly, hiding his hands between his knees.
Sleight of hand : 13 <- I'll let you decide if he spilled a drink or not :D

"Bard? Ha! No. Am travel. Am seek peace. Well... Mebbe... mebbe seek peace, be bard too. Have dream!"
Strix pulls out his flute and starts mutilating the bar's sonic ambience
