Varinth, you watch the two come closer. The elf appears to have silvery grey hair and probably several hundred years old. He looks at ease, and is chatting to his companion. You notice now that they are coming near to you that the other is not a mounted rider but is in fact a female centaur. The elf nods to you without much interest as he passes, and pops his head into the temple and speaks: Ah, Sister Garaele, you are not alone. Is this a bad time? Should we wait, or come back later?
Varinth will keep a casual eye on the goings on while waking over to Soodi. He grabs an onion and feeds it to Soodi.
See that My Dear? A real live centaur. And a pretty one at that! Must be confusing to you huh? Always a horse though... never the likes of your hind quarters I notice. Although I've heard tales of ones with a lions keaster. What was the name?... Womac? Windtac...
He leans casually on his best friend. This quiet town is getting curioser and curioser.
Incantis smiles reassuringly at Garaele's wariness, he might not have much social experience outside his cult-I mean sect, but he has good emotional intelligence when he needs it. "Just a couple friends. And a camel."
Persuasion: 11
As the elf and centaur approach Incantis' eyes widen; this is the first time he's seen a centaur, though he's heard a few tales. He stares mutely, telepathically asking Dario "Centaurs are real??? I'd heard stories but I'd not believed...It seems I put the sister on edge though mentioning the rest of the party, this seems like the perfect opportunity to deflect."

Dario continues to lean against the stone wall of the temple, keeping one eye on Vaz as he questions the lady and one eye on the temple door. When Vaz gets up and heads out of the temple, Dario lingers a little making sure Incantis. As he is about to leave the temple an elf with grey hair pokes his head into the temple and asks Sister Garaele if she is busy or not and if they look over at Dario and IncantisDario says, "please don't mind us. We were just seeing if the dear sister here needed any help. I'm Dario Dandolo, from the Misty Woods."
Dario, not understanding Incantis at first, peers behind the grey haired elf to notice the female centaur standing behind him. He looks over at Incantis, wanting to reply to him, but waits to see how the grey haired elf replies.
Incantis, Sister Garaele smiles in response to your words, and appears to relax. Oh, the camel is yours? I did wonder. She's magnificent, I wish I could pet her, but I like having the two hands, you know?
Dario, the elf responds, Good to meet you, Dario. Daran Edermath, at your service.
Sister Garaele chimes in: I think Dario and his friends, oh did Master Vaz leave already? Well, they're just off to meet their friends. She turns back to look at you both. Please do take care. Come back if you are interested in the job, and I can tell you more. And be careful of the Redbrands. Although, if you have friends... How many friends do you... Never mind. Look, there's a lot of Redbrands. Just, be careful, alright?

"It's a pleasure," Dario says to Daran Edermath. Dario thinks if he recognizes the name or at least his elven surname (History: 11). He then turns to Sister Garaele as she speaks and says "yes, the sister is right, we were just about to leave to meet our friends."He then nods to Sister Garaele and says, "we appreciate you putting up with our questions and maybe we will take you up on your offer after we have disbanded the Redbrands. Oh, just one last question. How many Redbrands do you think there are and if my friends wanted to say, run into any of them, how might best we go about it?"
Dario, you've never heard of a Daran Edermath. If he is well-known, it is perhaps not anywhere near your home in the Misty Forest.
Sister Garaele says, There are a great many Redbrands, more than a dozen, maybe more than two. Though they rarely travel all together. If you face them all at once, you will die. Please don't do anything foolish and brave. She puts her hand on your shoulder, squeezes it, and lets it drop. If you must do this... Some of them go drinking at the Sleeping Giant. In the east part of town. She points unenthusiastically down the street to the east. Make sure you have your friends with you if you go there.
Dario looks in the direction that Sister Garaele points to and makes a mental note of where the Sleeping Giant could be found. He turns to the sister one last time before leaving and says "again, many thanks for all the information you have bestowed upon us. Do not fret, peace will soon be a common friend instead of a stranger in these parts."
While Dario waits for Incantis to finish and they both leave the temple, he turns to Daran and says, "What news do you bring from your travels? And who is your centarian friend?"
Dario, Daran looks curiously at you. Well, on my long journey today from my house over there; he points over to the orchard on the other side of the Town Green, to here, he points to the shrine, I did behold a marvellous and ferocious camel, from far off and exotic lands no doubt. Does that meet your thirst for news? He grins at you. Son, my bad leg and I haven't been travelling in many years, but I will happily tell you stories of my adventures if you want to visit me later. He turns and enters the small shrine; the centaur regards you curiously, and then follows.
Strix starts wandering back up the street towards the inn, giving the Lion Shield a ruefull sideways glance as he passes. If he sees a cart outside any building, he'll take a closer look - at this point his rasher side is suggesting that maybe he should go back to that cave, load the cart up with the bags or boxes or whatever they were and ride the bloody thing right through Lion Lady's front door screaming "Boxes!" . But he's just looking for now...
What do you say, Scup, shall we gather our companions and take another shot at talking to the Thornton woman? Setting in place a firm plan first this time?
Aye. Probably important to find out jest where she stands on this. Get the feel of where all her loyalties lay. I doubt she's the type to openly support us but nor do I want her warning anyone o' tings to come.
Strix, as you walk up the street back in the direction of the temple and the inn, you pass by a street that leads east further in town. At the junction, you notice that there are five men strolling down the street in your general direction. They appear to have noticed you; one of them says something to the others and grins, and they pick up their pace. They are about thirty feet away at the moment.

Jeez Louise! You eat one goblin's face - ONE! - and they never let you forget it! :D

Varinth has a big stretch and checks out the Elf and rider. Always curious when Soodi's attention is peaked, as it's so rare.

Scupper also suggested Vaz be in charge of killing their next victim with alcohol after interrogation. He just likes to keep score. 😀

Strix, please give me a Perception check.
Scupper and Dekhan, how close behind Strix are you following?
(On the map, the red dot is the five men, and the blue dot is Strix.)
OCC: Uh-oh!! Sounds dangerous!!!

where's the church Dario Vaz and I are in on that map? The shrine of luck? Basically I'm wondering how far apart the two party halves are

Yes. I think you're standing just outside it now, as Daran and the centaur have gone inside to speak with the Priestess.
