OOC: I'm not saying we release him, leave him in the care of someone while we do what we have to do. Then when the redbrands are done, we can release him because it won't matter. Besides, what if something comes up in the manor we want to know about? We already have someone who is willing to answer our questions.
Ooookay then. Varinth looks around. Good. Now Mr Apple, are you going to be a good fella? Nod to agree and shake to disagree. I will get more capable people to organize the appropriate signals for our crawl into your dungeon. Good then.
In character: All the Gods' favored are "priests" to Incantis, as a former cult member (& an astrological/astronomical one at that) he looks down upon religious folk.
OOC: As far as only acting at Daran's bequest, I'm only on a sacred task for my people; I'd do some thinking about what it is that ties Zoria to the well-being of the group.
Incantis gives Dario a side-eye, backing up half a pace. "That seems a little...crueler than what I had in mind. I was going to suggest a merciful sleep, not this tortuous servitude. Stars below, what were you involved in before this group?" The warlock eyes Strix. "It seems your puppy is to be kept alive, for now, but I agree. Leaving enemies breathing is only asking for trouble. Don't think for a moment I trust you." He directs his last words to the redbrand.

OOC: I understand your concern. Zoria will become an integrated part of the group and I'm sure she'll eventually become tied to the well-being of the group. But like I said, as of this point in the plot, Zoria doesn't "know" this group will be where her loyalties lie for the time coming. If that makes sense. But I'm glad you informed me on Incantis' biases, that makes me feel better because some of your responses I thought might have been targeting me personally because of how I made Zoria lol but I'm glad that isn't the case.
Well it's both. Part of it is definitely RP, I think in an online post where tone is difficult to convey that was important to state. But the other part is, if you're gonna play the card of "oh I don't know you guys yet why would I be a team player", why wouldn't the response be "well we don't know you yet either, why should we care if you sacrifice yourself for the Redbrand."
The answer of course is because OOC we're playing a game together, and have therefore (I'd hope) designed characters with this group activity in mind, and taking RP to the point of PvP is no fun for anyone.
Whatever, I didn't expect to climb this hill let alone die on it. Let's just move on I'm sorry
Now then Apple, say Goodbye to your comrades. Varinth will set alight to the Pyre. He will do all he can with his knowledge of natural and unnatural fire to make it burn as quick and as hot as possible without getting out of control. This may give away our location but perhaps we can dwindle their numbers when they send out a scouting party to investigate. Let's get our gear together and skedaddle when I put the fire out(Which he will do when the bodies are burnt enough that disease will never be a problem.
No worries, guys. But let's keep far away from any PvP. Disagreements are fine, but for the party to work, please don't reach quickly for weapons, even if you don't intend to go through with it. If you're not sure how to square that with your character, then PM me and we can talk it through. :)
Tying him up as a Guide. His dead friends we are burning. Away from town to prevent disease and distress for the townsfolk. Which reminds me Steve, what would like me to roll for the pyre, if anything?

I guess my thought on that is that characters view points conflict, as we've seen. If something crosses moral boundaries for characters then they should stand up for that.
I wouldn't do anything to break up the group and I understand what you're saying, but I also think that if two characters become physical due to moral conflicts, I think that increases the narrative. And I've always enjoyed the collaborative story telling part of D&D and controlled character conflict enhances that. Again, obviously neither player would "kill" the other character, but in the story it make sense.
I think we have a difference in thought process on that, unless I'm misunderstanding.

I hope I was clear in my "as long as nobody rolls" comment that I was not looking for PvP, but I need to square a player move towards a party line that my character does not agree with. Unfortunately I've painted myself into a corner where I can't have an eloquent reasoned debate in character, but the upside is I can literally beat myself into submission if needed and it makes sense (to me at least). I would hope that as I resolved my own weapon waving internally in a single post that it didn't come off too PvP and was purely theatrics. However, narratively Squigs, you painted me into a corner where S had to either agree with Z or roll. I would echo Jsmall's point - "I don't know you" is a two edged sword with no pommel and a greasy scabbard.
I guess if we need to hash it out further we can take it to the PM trail? So let's burn this guy! I mean tie him up and keep him alive!

I saw the as long as nobody rolls thing and I was in agreeance with that, I never intended to do any rolls. I was trying to voice that Zoria wholeheartedly did not want this person to be killed, UNLESS she got some gold for it. (I understand that confuses some of you though because she isn't the traditional cleric mold lol). So that was my way of, my character doesn't want to do this, but if it's what the party wants, this is how to get Zoria to agree. Again, I never intended to do pvp, but I can see how Zoria saying she would fight says the complete opposite, so that was a lost in translation from my mind to character's mouth. Zoria's actions were purely theatrics as well, admittedly, I could have done a better job of conveying that.
I was never trying to put Strix in a corner of "Agree with Zoria or else". So i apologize 100% if that's how it came off! I was trying to give an out for Zoria as well. Also, the "I don't know you" line was only to explain the character reasoning, not a way to justify a pvp that I wasn't trying to force into the story.
Zoria pockets the silver after biting it to make sure it's legit. "Should we put it to a vote? It seems there are six of us." [We are all here right?] "Majority vote of 4 decides what we do with him? If we kill him, we add him to the bodies of his allies. If we leave him alive, we ask that Sister Garaele watch over him until we empty Redbrand Manor? Tie vote, we flip a coin? My vote is for life; however, I will change my vote for 2 gold pieces."
I realize I'm rather small compared to you Miss Horsey Lady, but I have been talking. We are taking him with us. He is going to be our Canary in the Mine. This is not a negotiation. The wine is good. He feels emboldened. We are not murderers. We may be many other things but we are not that. Let's go.
Varinth will arrange Apples bonds so that his legs are free, his hands are tied behind his back and his gag is sturdy but not uncomfortable. He will attach a sturdy rope around his waist entwined with the other bindings. He will then hand the rope to Dekhan. He's a little too large for me to handle on my own. I trust I can leave him in your capable hands?
Varinth will then fetch his wineskin from the ground and his Staff from Soodi.
Lead the way Apple.
