Erika looks down at the food she’s eating, back up to Basiel, and tells him, “I’ve got zero experience with cooking. But if that’s where you want me on this boat, I guess I can be the cook. Just don’t complain halfway through.”
As Basiel goes about getting things organised, his obviously military experience showing as he gets straight to business, Filli sits back and watches the exchanges with a wide smile on her face. We chose the right person to run the ship. she muses to herself.
As Benagol departs to inspect the ship she chuckles at Erika's comment and adds "From what I have seen friend, you are certainly talented with knives! But worry not, I suspect food will be the last thing we are thinking about for a while."
Standing up from where she is sat at the table she says to the rest "Shall we go and have a look at her then?"
Hearing Basiel introduce himself, Dara gives him a small smile as an acknowledgment. She thinks on the question regarding the jobs of quartermaster, and she quietly responds with,
"I can attempt at maps and navigational equipment. I have some experience looking at maps, but given my time, I would like to think that I have sufficient amount of experience with them since I am a quick study. And regarding charting our progress throughout this travel, I can do that."
With that, Dara extends her hand to get her familiar, Aspen, on top of her shoulder once again as she gets ready to head out with the new group of people she has met. She makes sure to have all of her belongings when they all head out to the ship.
Following the group to the boat Erika walks up to Dara and says with a small smile, “Your weasel’s cute.” She immediately falls back behind you after saying that.
The ship is well-built with a four oars on a side, and two levels. The storeroom is in the back of the boat ((the six tiles)). You can get to the second level of the ship with a ladder. There is a square sail. The sail is tan in color, and has the emblem of a wheel and spyglass, the symbols of a trade ship.
The storeroom has the following items: Cartographer's Tools, Cook's Utensils, Navigator's Tools, Painter's Supplies, Woodcarver's Tools, 3 Explorer's Packs, Spyglass, and a large tarp to cover the boat when it rains.
Filli, did you take the map to the Goldenfield vault? Also, if you are making a copy of the map, you can do it without a skill check.
Erika looks at the cook’s utensils and then takes them to the kitchen/galley to try to figure out cooking. ((Is the ship stocked, or will we need to get some food for the journey? What does this galley look like?))
The extent of the kitchen is a small desk in the storeroom. There's a basin there, for fresh water or for mixing the food. ((Given y'all's love for soup, it indeed can be cooked here.)) There are also a couple bowls, plates, and utensils (all wooden) sitting in a small pile in the corner.
Your rations are food, and can sustain you for your travels, but they will not taste so great. You can stock up on some fruits, salted meats, and grains at the docks. You will also need fresh water. You can't consistently drink seawater and expect to live long.
Erika goes up to Basiel wherever he is on the ship and says, "Just took a look at the galley. Unless you're good with the most basic definition of food, we're gonna need supplies. Any idea on how to pay for that Captain?" When she says Captain, it comes out forced and awkward, as she is not used to having to talk in ship terms. "Also gonna need fresh water, but I assume you know some people we can get all of that from?"
The trip from Stormhaven to Blood Shoals should take about 3 days. The Captain (or all of you) should buy fresh water before you depart. Also, decide what activites you want to do each day. Some activities are shown in the UA article.
If needed, Dara will buy a barrel of water if other people do so. Each day, Dara has her moments where she finds a quiet area, learning spells from her book. People would see her sitting, with her hood up, reading the book. Her familiar Aspen would be curled up on her shoulder.
Erika pays for the food and water after someone gives her it, or if everyone pitches in, whichever. Then she’ll either spend the day up in the crow’s nest looking out at the sea, or in the galley trying to make food for everyone. Other than that, she’ll spend on day writing a letter to Jimmy about what she is doing now, and the rest tossing a knife in the air to catch it.
Basiel nods to Erika when she reports on the need for supplies. He quickly calculates the needed amount of gold for foodstuffs and water, and digs into his pouch. As he hands her the gold pieces, he says, “Here you are, for the food and water. You should be able to have it delivered to us at the ship, and we will help load it on.”

Basiel will spend most of his time at the helm of the ship, guiding it along their route. Periodically he will ask someone to take over this task so that he can work with Dara to update a map of their route and chart their remaining journey; or so that he can take a tour of the ship with Benagol. He will keep an eye out for hazards and other ships at almost all times when he is on deck.
He will try to get to know more about the others, when he has any free time. He will share anecdotes about life at sea with the navy, and will tell anyone who asks that he has been retired from that life for a few years. He will explain that he is now living in Stormhaven and works by contract as a private guard.
((How much will the supplies cost? I see 100+4d6 for crew and resources cost, but I can’t imagine it’s that expensive for a weeks worth of food and water...))

((ooc: are we already in fron tof the ship or are we still having breakfast? if the first...))
in game: Benagol goes to check the ship and to tell if there is any mending to be done before departure
As Basiel goes about getting things organised, his obviously military experience showing as he gets straight to business, Filli sits back and watches the exchanges with a wide smile on her face. We chose the right person to run the ship. she muses to herself.

Benagol, smiling, agrees and he is ready to go

((I'm back! Sorry I was out for the weekend))
Here's what I've gathered, tell me if it's incorrect: Basiel: Captain, Filli: First Mate, Erika: Cook, Dara: Quartermaster, Benagol: Bosun, Mugs: Surgeon.
At this point, you've reached the ship with all your belongings. A map of the boat is shown on the google drive folder: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1UpVp9vAprmD-fjOL2iJhmK-PK54D3NOC

Filli, did you take the map to the Goldenfield vault? Also, if you are making a copy of the map, you can do it without a skill check.

Dara gets on the boat, quietly looking around, stroking Aspen, not saying much once again.
Benagol gets on the boat, gets himself comfortable places his trunk downstairs, looks at the ship.
He strolls around, pretty content, commenting with the little Basiel about it
((ooc: comments depending on the status of the ship))

During the travel, Benagol helps the captain first thing in the morning, then checks if everything is alright.
in his spare time , he find some sort of excuse to be next to Dara : her crow-black hair and her silences renders her intriguing to Benagol eyes
