A warm sun has just risen over the horizon, spreading its bright rays over the land, but it seems to be a curious sun as if multiple suns, slightly out of phase occupy the same space. Exhaustion from the long night weighs heavily on your limbs.
Old Party
In the strange light of the new risen sun, you see a diminutive figure in chain and a shield stand up. For a moment, you think it is Terrance, but Terrance was never so svelte.
Seraphina
In the strange light of the new risen sun, you see five figures standing just on the other side of the road. The most striking stands nearly seven feet tall, in chain mail and a shield, his scales reflecting and refracting the sun in the sun, so he seems to be surrounded by color. Next, to Dragonborn you see a Human female with curly, long, dark hair holding a quarterstaff at the ready, her robes smudged, dirty and ripped in places. Standing next to her is a short Man with broad shoulders and red hair in leather armor. On the other side of the Dragonborn, his slightly pointed ears and features showing his half-elven blood, stands another male with a staff. Lastly, is an Elven Male, a Wood Elf by his complexion, dressed in leathers and wielding a bow.
Area
This is obviously not the same road as you were traveling the evening before. Gone is the well maintained road and open farmland. You find yourself in a small meadow beside the remnants of an ancient, overgrown road running north and south. Surrounding you is a forest of mixed broadleaf and conifers, the broadleaf trees just beginning to change color give hint that Autumn is not far off. Far and hazy in the distance to the East and West you can see the snow capped, rocky, peaks of giant mountains.
“Well,” says the man. “You’re not Terrance. Who are you?”
He’s wearing a thick, somewhat tattered sweater, and backpack, with a staff strapped to the pack and a belt with an awful lot going on: several pouches and daggers are strapped to the belt, although they are not obvious from far away due to the sweater covering it mostly.
(2 Quick OOC logistics questions: (1) consumable items (arrows, torches, etc.) used in the tavern are gone or do we actually have them? (2) And nothing we found in the tavern we still have (gold, scrolls, dagger, longswords, etc.) correct? Just making sure my inventory is correct.)
Andolin, the elf, stands and looks around, studying his surroundings, taking particular note of the multi-phased sun. Standing off from the newcomer a bit, he studies the horizon, trying to determine where they might be, or if they are even still on the same plane.
Something seems off to you, besides the sun. The sky is the right color, birds seem the same, the buzz of insects is the same, the smell of the grass all seem correct. But something is off. One thing is obvious, you entered the tavern in early spring, and by the looks of nature, summer is winding down.
Darwin stands and flexs his scales out, stretching as he does so. He tests his shoulders and arms, Not finding the ache he expected to be there. Looking about the group Darwin seems a little worried. "Terrance? Wheres Terrance?" The Dragonborn begins prowling the road side looking for his friend. Seeing the newcomer after some time, Darwin pushes pass Horus; Practically shoulder checking him.
"Have you seen a small man around here by any chance?" Darwin is worried and considering the worse for his friend.

Cellica had already figured that Terrance was not among their party anymore. Where he was she had no idea but she was too worried about other things to really pay any heed to it. Terrance probably got send somewhere else. Cell eyed the newcomer for a moment and let Horus do the talking before walking over to Andolin who had a worrysome look on his face "What's up ?" she asks and looks around to see if she sees anything out of order except the fact that it was getting colder then when they arrived that blasted Tavern, that Terrance was nowhere to be found and that they seemed to have been brought somewhere then where they had been before. Her eyes shot over the treeline to see if there was anything lurking there.

Slowly, Seraphina stirred, both her mind and vision hazy. A brief moment of confusion swept over her as she tried to recall what on earth had happened for her to wind up in her current state, but that was soon forgotten as she caught sight of five figures on the opposite side of the road. Perhaps they knew something as to what had happened to her in the tavern, or if everything was simply the result of one drink too many.
A hand was offered to her as one of the newcomers introduced himself as Horus, but before she had the opportunity to answer him he was shoved aside by the Dragonborn demanding if she knew the whereabouts of someone by the name of Terrance.
"I'm afraid not" The female Halfling said slowly, almost apologetically "You five are the first other living beings I've seen since I retired to my room yesterday"

Andolin looked over at Cellica as she approached. "This place seems wrong somehow...different in some way. Wherever we are, it's not where we were anyway. Or when we were...look, the trees there. See how the green is beginning to seep from their leaves? And you noticed the touch of cold on the wind, of course. We went in that tavern in spring, and autumn is nearly upon us here. Where are we?"
Hearing Darwin beginning to panic, he looks over to see him interrogating the newcomer. "Poor fellow." He sighs, and walks toward the dragonborn. Placing a hand gently on the scaled arm of the large paladin, he gestures to his quiver, then his pack, as he says, "I don't know what that place was, but it was real enough that my quiver is lightened, and 5 torches are missing. I saw Terrance fall and I tried to save him along with Wren and Horus. There was nothing we could do. I don't know that he's dead, I suppose. But he didn't make it out of there with us. I'm sorry, friend. He's gone."
OOC: BTW, since you all did such a great job, i awarded you each an inspiration. I will continue to award about every "long rest" should it be warranted. And no, spending the day in a tavern drinking, no matter how off key you sing, doesn't warrant.
“Darwi-“ Horus splutters getting a face full of dragon “Will you ease up??” Sighing, he straightens himself up.
”Miss, I’m afraid that tavern was most definitely evil and likely to have left you someplace other than where you started. We aren’t sure where we are.”
Waking up with the sky above him, Wren smiles briefly. Then he remembers the night before. Bolting upright, he looks around, dagger drawn. Seeing no immediate threat, he begins to walk the area. Finding the sign, he picks it up briefly, dropping it to the ground as he finds that it has changed.
"The road has changed, it would not have become so overgrown over a season would it?" Seeing the new comer, for the second time Wren reflexively draws a dagger. Seeing that the stranger seems non aggressive, Wren sheathes the dagger and walks over.
"Who are you? Do you know what happened to us?"
((We dont recognize Seraphina from the tavern do we?))
Darwin seizes Andolin his shirt and picks him clear up off the ground, His eyes becoming the narrow vertical slits of his Ancestors in this moment of fury. "YOU LEFT HIM TO DIE!?!" Darwin snarls and bares his teeth.....Before dropping Andolin and walking away from the group. Finding a nice, grassy area;Sitting down and mourning his friend.

Unafraid, Andolin stares with sympathy into the slitted eyes of the dragonborn as he raises him off the ground. He says nothing else as Darwin walks away, leaving him to mourn their friend in peace.

You do not recognize her... She was in an alternative alternative reality. Starting in a different place.
Cellica's attention was drawn to the panicking voice of her Dragonborn friend and like Andolin, she left her surroundings for what it was for now moving towards Darwin. "There is nothing we could've done Darwin...we don't know if he's dead ... but he might be. He also might have been send somewhere other then we are now." She whispered to him, trying to avoid him punching one of their companions in the face. Cellica turned to the newcomer "I apologize for the behaviour of my friends. My name is Cellica Goldryn." she introduced herself and eyed the young woman from head to toe.

For a moment Seraphina looked around, almost as if she was attempting to spot some sort of familiar landmark even though she was well aware it was a pointless effort. "Truth be told everything I don't remember very much at all" She said as she finally rose to her feet, one of the group introducing themself to her as Cellica Goldryn. "Seraphina Braekanfel. I'd say it's a pleasure to meet you all but given the circumstances, I'm not too sure if it is a pleasure or not"
