Belailuin, in your attempt to grapple the gnoll you get tripped up dodging between Parth and the lookout and the gnoll pushes you to the side as your fire bolt goes astray. The gnoll takes the opportunity to try to bite you (ooc: sorry, he got a really good dex roll)
Knowing the fight is soon to be over and that the last gnoll isn't long for this world, Wormsquirt lowers his arm. Turning his back on the fight and sniffing the air intuitively he begins to walk away. He pauses a moment looking back over his shoulder and says, "You may want to keep that one alive for questioning."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zarbof, slightly amused by the notion, calls out to Wormsquirt, "Questioning? What are you hoping to ask it? What's for lunch?" Then he mutters under his breath, "Keep it alive...foul creatures...I'll have its head!"
Zarbof is just getting into this whole 'killing Gnolls' thing, and - slightly disappointed there aren't more to keep him entertained - rushes in to hopefully deal a death blow to this final Gnoll.
(OOC: Assuming I can get close enough for a melee attack?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zarbof trying to find an opening between the workbenches and the last remaining gnoll can't find a good angle for a proper swing and misses the gnoll.
Parth hearing both Zarbof and Wormsquint mutters half to himself "The little urchin may have a point" He uses his first attack to swing at the gnolls legs in an attempt to hobble it and then yells to the lookout next to him "Grab Him" and launches himself to grapple the gnoll to the ground. The lookout tries to pile on in a tackle hold of the gnoll at the same time.
Attack: 18 Dmg:10
Opposing STR check to subdue the gnoll: Parth: 7 L1: STR check: 12
Parths swing connects with the gnolls achilles tendon almost killing the gnoll. In the next moment the gnoll finds itself buried beneath a large half orc and a human. The final gnoll is subdued.
Parth stands up instructing the lookout to bind the gnoll well, wipes some blood spatter from his face and says "Well, that's one way to find out how you all handle yourselves! Well done my charges! You all held your own!" He starts heading towards the main house. "If there are any others wandering around the lookouts will inform us. Come let us get this mess cleaned up and see if this creature can tell us anything useful"
"Yeah I'm starving now and could really use a rest." Mysti says. Before leaving the battlefield she looks up, give a short but sweet thank you to Tyr for his guidance through the battle and then retires inside.
Zarbof picks up a leather scrap from the workbench, wipes the Gnoll blood from his axe with it and throws it back down on the workbench. He takes a long look at the workbench and tools, taking it all in, and turns to follow Parth into the main house.
"Parth, do you have an armourer here? Or at least someone who keeps the training weapons in decent condition?"
Parth starts dragging gnolls corpses towards the east gate. "Lets get them piled up here and we can see if they have anything useful"
He gives you an appraising look Zarbof and says "Truth be told young Dwarf I haven't had one here for some time. I have a feeling this is something you'll not let go so i might as well tell you all now." He raises his voice for all to hear and continues dragging and dropping gnolls by the gate. "Ive not had any new charges in almost a year. There were some... unfortunate, rumors spread about the last group I trained. The group was well trained and began to gain some renown in the area taking on tasks too difficult for locals to handle. It is said that while in a town to the east known as Longmore one of them went mad and killed several citizens of the town." He shakes his head "These are of course just rumors. Nothing was ever proven and i've not heard from any in that group so I cannot say for myself. But you know how rumors can fly and my business suffered. Some started saying I was responsible, or perhaps I had put the madness in him. Utter nonsense, of course" He says "But there you have it"
Parth says "I have a business to run here Zarbof, even though I had no new charges there is always much to take care of. The rumors are completely absurd and I didn't want to give them any credence by investigating"
You do get the feeling that he is not being completely forthcoming. While his tale seems to have some parts of the truth you can tell it is not the whole truth.
"Well, I guess it makes sense that you've not had time to investigate for yourself. If you'd like, I'll happily lend my services as a smith to repair any training weapons. My skill is more with metal than wood, but I'm sure I could at least keep things serviceable. I assume you only have the means to work with wood here? There's no forge on site presumably?"
"I'm sorry Zarbof there is not a forge on the property. Any of that kind of work I send to Ringer, the smith, in 3 Roads Town. I would be pleased for you to take a look at the practice gear. One of my men claims that he keeps it all maintained but I'm sure his skills pale to that of a dwarf."
Just then a couple of the lookouts return saying "All clear sir. Looks like that was all of them" Parth nods and motions to the rest of the dead gnolls "Give a hand getting this filth to the gate for the moment and give my charges a chance to look them over. I doubt they have anything useful but you never know. A couple of you prepare a bonfire far enough away that the smell wont reach us when we dispose of this mess!"
We're out of initiative so let me know what everyone would like to.
