During Asphodels watch, at some point he'll slip out to pray, he'll go to the new spot where he found the glowing fungi. Still new and conscious about talking to Kiri, he'd rather awkwardly pray for guidance both on their journey and his own. "Hey, so, hi? It's me, your favorite. Man, a guide would be great. How am I suppose to know you're listening? For all I know you could be up there.. I dunno, talking to the sun.." he spends a good fifteen minutes talking about the day, about the people he's met, the awful state of his hair, how confused he is, and the like. He's trying to be respectful but it comes out more like he's talking to a close friend, despite being alone in the night. Every so often he'll make himself glow and try to focus it into making patterns.
But as morning rises, Asphodel, having decided to lay down on his sleeping bag rather than meditate sitting all night, rolls over to see the camps fire put out. He sighs and sits up, rubbing his sore neck. “Meditating on land sucks more than having my makeup smudge..” he groans. His unamused gaze wonders the site until his eyes fall onto the centipedes. “ICK!” Instinctively, he lets out a disgusted squeal.
"As if. I bet it's gone back to whatever hole it came from." Asphodel comes over and begins poking the fire with a nearby stick he found. He puts his hand on his hip and tilts his head in curiosity, looking back over to Makani.
"I've been meaning to ask - how did you grow those? Your wings. Are they real?"
(Assuming this is taking place directly after makani headed to sleep)
The Avariels wings unfurl from the cocoon like shape that they had taken around his Meditation-Sleep ready form, and he looks up with an expression of slight confusion, although it looks more like irritation
"How did I *grow* them?... The same way I grew my arms or my legs.. The same way I assume you each grew your limbs."
He pauses for a moment-
"I knew my folk were uncommon.. Well.. Anywhere aside from home but I at least figured we might be known of."
He flares his wings slightly at the end of his sentence- punctuating the glimmer of pride showing through his words.
Asphodels eyes glimmer in awe. "From where I'm from we don't see many folk with wings, few like them as well-" he points to Trinity and Katznii. "So are they sensitive? Or do you shed some feathers like hair?" Curious, Asphodel approaches him to get a better look at the wings. "In truth - I didn't know we came in that flavor."
He nods in response. "Sort of like fins.. would you mind if I touch them? I've never actually 'felt' feathers. Dry ones anyways - I'll be gentle!" He adds on quickly, seemingly a little more conscious about how strange the topic is.
Asphodel smiles and walks behind Makani, Uncertainty written all over his expression. Very carefully, as if hesitant to actually go through, he runs the back of his finger along the edge of the primary feathers. His eyes widen in surprise and he retracts his hand. Confused by the softness of it, he pokes the feathers again, this time touching the greater secondary covert feathers. Eventually brushing against the full wing, his hand traces the base where the back meets the lesser secondary covert. Realizing that he one hundred percent rubbed the back of this poor man's spine, he steps away. While pulling back his nail gets stuck under one of the feathers and tugs lightly. 'Oh no.'
Makani recoils swiftly and winces, his wing likely buffeting some embers from the fire in the swift motion. His head whips to look back at Asphodel before pulling away-
"I was!" He raises his arms defensively, "My nail got caught! On a high note - we're learning more about each other. For example; your wings are more comparable to my gils than fins. Gils are more like your nose.. I think.." he stops to consider if that comparison is logical.
Based off general perception checks, it seems the trail Trinity was keeping an eye on isn’t going to help anymore, but you do know the general direction it had been heading the day before. You also remember the sailor had said the temple was heavily encumbered by the forest, but resides in the cliffs.

I know Kath isn't a ranger but... can Kath roll something to see if she can narrow down the general area of the forest where the temple might be based on the things said by the sailor and direction the pirates were heading, relying on her own experience with the forest?
(Yeah, I would actually have Kathleen roll a knowledge check + your pick of Nature, survival or history. Only because this was actually something Kathleen had heard about as well.)

Makani had averted his eyes from the corpse after the ordeal, seemingly trying to pretend that it never happened.
Before turning in for the night he'd look to those staying up-
"Keep your eyes open- That beast may try to return with a vengeance, id rather we don't end up-.. I will be alert for the early morning."
"As if. I bet it's gone back to whatever hole it came from." Asphodel comes over and begins poking the fire with a nearby stick he found. He puts his hand on his hip and tilts his head in curiosity, looking back over to Makani.

Ria raises an eyebrow at Asphodel's question. "This should be good..." she murmurs, packing up her things with military efficiency.

Katznii, having reached his daily limit for excitement, leans back and falls asleep.

Makani, still in a meditative relaxed position- recoils his wings slightly as Asphodel approaches.
"Um.. Yes- yes to both, In moderate amounts."
Makani then squints a bit. Only now realizing that Asphodel is also of Elven blood- despite the drastic physical and.. Behavioural differences.
He nods in response. "Sort of like fins.. would you mind if I touch them? I've never actually 'felt' feathers. Dry ones anyways - I'll be gentle!" He adds on quickly, seemingly a little more conscious about how strange the topic is.
"S-sure?" Makani replies, obviously unsure of whether or not he chose the right answer
