Something about what he says strikes a nerve in Asphodel. His heart pumps in his ears as his expression drops into a stern tone. "Honestly? I'm an entertainer - not a hero. I don't go around... doing whatever it is we're doing here. But - someone somewhere who had given me a second chance at life told me to come. I don't personally have anything for this prisoner. However someone in need like this? You better believe I'm gonna do something. Anything. It sucks being trapped and no one comes looking." His face contort into a scowl, filled more with hurt than anger.
"Another thing - don't you dare talk about him as a creature. Look at us -" he gestures to everyone. "Do we look like we'd all get along by race? For real? You've got nerve. Normally I'd applaud it but suggesting that a life isn't worth saving based on what you think you know is.." he bites his lip in annoyance, suddenly conscious that others are listening. He sighs and lowers his voice. "Don't be so down. We've got enough talent, looks and skill to do anything. One way or another this will end. It isn't a hopeless battle until we leave." He's as confident as ever.
The man’s eyes only seemed to be able to watch the soaked dirt. He ate quietly as the rain noticeably stopped, or began to slow down long enough for the ground to drain.

He wraps up his rations, still having barely touched them. "I'm gonna go find some more sticks for the fire. I doubt this will last." With a flip of his hair, the sea elf rises and starts towards the direction they were heading in, being sure he's still within earshot of the others. He knows he's not the strongest of people so he can only effectively carry a small stack.
Kathleen stops eating and looks at the half-elf as he comments about the Minotaur and then to Ria as she comments about employers. She shakes her head and turns to the half-elf, "I go where adventure is. If this captain Fang is the type of guy you're saying he is, then it might be better for everyone he doesn't roam around being free to do whatever he pleases." She lets out a small chuckle and says, "I'm not scared. The Minotaur may not be as bad as you suspect he is. After all, the cruelest monsters to walk the earth are people but you don't hear tales about them like you hear about other creatures." Kathleen then turns to Ria and says rather coldly, "People don't always have the option to choose their employer or work. Furthermore, people don't always know the kind of monster their employer truly is until it's too late."
“No. . .” Barossa hummed, twiddling his thumbs looking down. “I knew after a our first voyage what kinda men I was working with now. I could have left, but...” He fell silent.

The place was still very wet as the sea elf did their best to find good fire wood. However, the glow of the place began to catch his attention, stumbling into an area where fungi seemed to glow as he so often did.

Asphodel wonders lost in thought, kicking himself for his temper. "Nothings changed, always running your mouth.." He continues to go, not ready to go back empty handed, he keeps his eye out while. His mind drifts, when he cools down he hums a quiet tune he use to sing to his youngest sister.
"Hm? Well what have we here." He curiously goes to get a closer look at the fungi.
As Asphodel watches the almost jellyfish like movements of what appear to be simply benevolent fungi, something moves along the trees, further away from him. The soft glow from the fungi make it hard to see what it was, but it was enough to fill his mind with horrors.

The ear splitting roar echoed through the jungle before Asphodel has time to completely warn them. Makani could see from the perch the large lizard charging for the warm glow of the fire. As Trinity stumbled to snatch his weapons, the large carnivor was upon them.

Bursting through the trees, Kathleen instantly recognized the juvenile Allosaurus, it’s large body dappered with blue streaks along its charcoal hide. It charged, going for the person closest.
”Holy sh—“ Borassa said, standing up as the carnivore pounced, it’s claws digging into him. Before the the first arrow was strung, a blood curdling scream was silenced when the jaws closed over half of the man’s body.
The arrow zips through the humid air and land in the thick hide, the sauropod’s attention turning from his meal to the others near.
[You guys are semi grouped near the fire, the Allosaurus about 10 feet from Jason and Kathleen, 15 feet from Ria, 20 feet from Trinity, 70 feet from Asphodel and about 90 feet from Makani.]
