Vail speaks in undercommon and although it’s been awhile since he had worked as convoy lead shipping goods to the underground, the words quickly come to him.
”Hello there. We’re quite lost down here. You have a beautiful home. Could we trouble you for a pint or two of ale?”
he lowers his sword as well to appear unthreatening. He would sheath it but of course needs the light to see in the cave
Tordal steps forward, spreads his arms, and starts in Dwarvish "sorry to intrude in your wonderful cave home here. We won't be more than a moment, have you heard the good news about our Lord?"
Tauriel gives a friendly smile and waves to the Dwarf she recognizes and does not think of them as threats at all. "Yes Mr. Vail, ask them for alcohol please!"
Hearing Vail speak their language they look surprised and pleased. The smith chuckles a bit "Of course we have ale! Do you think we're some kind of primitives down here! Hiding away because we're inferior? Huh, speak up now!" Nodding to the other two. The one that Tauriel saw up top follows up with "You must be lost for we never look to have visitors. Did you fall in a hole during the quake?
It seems to be fairly amiable and then Tordal tries his missionary routine and they all look very suspicious all of a sudden, saying almost in unison "What Lord?"
“No no of course not! I would imagine you make the best ale, the underdark would be perfect for making beer. Excuse my accent, I used to help cart some overworld supplies to a large tunnel complex out east when I needed some work.”
he says with a smile and nudges Tordal with his elbow, hard.
”forgive my friend. He has a.... unique sense of humor? My name is Vail, these are my friends...”
he points to each one in the group and introduces them.
”you’re correct my friend! We fell into here! Are these all your tunnels?”
(We're out of initiative for the moment. Depending on how this goes well continue with the same order)
The blacksmith grunts and puff out his chest "The best for sure! You I like. That pale Dwarf.... you should kill him now. He'll poison your mind.. tell you ale is no good. We may have to kill him anyway but you should do it"
Looking to the rest of the party "We've not had contact with the above for some time. We know there's been building. What is above us now?"
Seeing how amiable the Dwarves have gotten to Vail, Tauriel runs up behind him and makes a drinking gesture with her hand, attempting to get some alcohol from them.
Estes will take a bit of his mushroom stash and begin fooling around with his druidcraft, growing it and separating some just trying to look harmless but have an excuse to have his hands out and moving.
The blacksmith nods to the 2 others and makes a hand gesture and they lower their weapons. He grins at the Minotaur who obviously wants a drink then looks back to Vail "Well, spose there's no harm in having a little break for a mug o ale. I been in front of the forge many hours. Lot's of to be done ya know." He points of to the side of the room and you see some benches there "You can sit if ya like" He then turns to his helper. "Well, whatcha waitin for dullard, get us a cask!" The helper runs off to the back of the room and retrieves a small cask.
Now that things have calmed and you have a chance to look around you see that the room your room in a well set-up forge but also has 2 open side rooms (caves) that look to serve as a bedroom and an eating area. You can see there's little nooks carved into the cave walls with assorted doodads and personal items. There's a weapon rack with over a dozen of the war pick looking things. There's also javelins and spears. In another area there are several structural steel pieces. Looks like the kid of things you could use to build support beams, bridges, that kinda thing.
The blacksmith asks the Duergar that Tauriel met to grab a table and he returns from the kitchen room with a table and mugs that the flask is set down on. Once mugs are poured for any who want them the blacksmith says "So lots of trouble in this city above. Doesn't surprise me" he scoffs "Buildings never stand in this area long yet they keep trying top build them"
Tauriel, seeing the forge and what are apparently a group of blacksmith dwarves, goes next to the forge and puts down her greataxe so the handle is sticking straight up in the air. She pretends to be swinging an imaginary axe while pointing at between the forge and her greataxe every now and again.
She looks at Saada, "Hey Mr. Saada, you can speak to them right? Ask them if they can do anything to get me an upgrade."
She then places 2 Daggers, 2 Leather Armor, 4 Longbows, and 3 Longswords (from the Tiefling camp) in a neat pile on the floor. Tauriel puts her hands together and looks at the most muscular dwarf and makes a begging gesture with puppy-Minotaur eyes.

(Good roll, we'll see if its good enough)
Ooc: thanks! Lol Tordal.

Ooc - it doesn't look like the missionary approach is going to be very convincing...

“There’s a small city above. One of these kind.”
vail points to Estes and Saada to indicate the Tieflings.
”they’re good folk but many were lost with the recent quake. We were the only ones willing to take a look and here we are. My friend here....”
Vail points at Tordal and gives him a pat on the head.
”...he doesn’t really think right. He’s had his head hit a couple of times...
have you ever been to the overworld? This is my first time here. I would love to swap story’s with you. My name is Vail.”
Vail steps forward and extends his hand to the smith and gives an uneasy smile. He is nervous, and scared of course.
Estes will take a bit of his mushroom stash and begin fooling around with his druidcraft, growing it and separating some just trying to look harmless but have an excuse to have his hands out and moving.

Saada grabs a mug and sits at the table.
"Why is that?" She asks in tone of genuine curiosity.
Tauriel, seeing the forge and what are apparently a group of blacksmith dwarves, goes next to the forge and puts down her greataxe so the handle is sticking straight up in the air. She pretends to be swinging an imaginary axe while pointing at between the forge and her greataxe every now and again.

"Mister?" Saada raises an eyebrow. "I was actually hoping Vail was translating."
Vail grabs one of the mugs and takes a long swig of ale. The warm beer isn’t the best he’s ever had, but cave beer is better than no beer.
”Yes I know, we build and they never last as long as the tunnels you have here. The recent quakes, you’ve been feeling them to?”
He catches Tauriels eye and what she’s doing with the armor “let’s not over extend our welcome” he says to her in common.
in under common to the Duergar “Sorry about them, hehe”
Infernal"the bbq called you he...."
Infernal: "Barbecue?" She grinned.
