After buying his vest and huge bear cloak that runs down his snout and completely engulfs the kobold and drags along the ground about three feet behind him, Rend would bounce his way back towards Herbert, ready to hit the road. On his way out of town he would ask if there was a place where he could send his letter before mounting up to head up towards the mountains.
There's an active mail service that has a pickup at the ink shop. Lots of folks send letters from here. Normal delivery to Tessaria is 1gp. It will take up to a week to arrive. You could also hire a special carrier that will get it their in 3 days for 10gp.
So Rend would stop and purchase a climbers kit on his way to the stables and once there he would give Herbert some rubs and hop on his back as his thick bear skin cloak just barley dangles above the ground and covers not just the kobold but also all of Herbert except the dogs head as it hangs down over both of them.
Once J'Anna has her furs set and has paid for hers and Klessals she is ready to hit the road once again...(just let me know how much to deduct for the 2 sets)...and makes her way to the stables and await her companions there.
The furs were 1gp per set. (It's defiantly a good price but there's plenty of supply so prices are low)
On the way back to the stable Kleesal says that he's made friends with the stable master and he's sure he could get free blankets for all the mounts. He says "While I was hanging around I helped the stable master figure out that there was a thorn that had gotten infested in one of the horses legs causing it to limp. The stable master was very happy I had helped and said anytime I needed anything just to ask! Boy that horse was so happy once we got the thorn out! He kept nuzzling me and bumping me with his head. Silly old fellow!"
"Did you miss me Herbert" Rend would whisper into the dogs ear. "I know I kind of look like a bear but I am not.. I am still a kobold... don't you worry" The kobold would say with a smile and a wink as he waits for everyone else to mount up so we can start heading into the mountains.
Halizthan moves to step up into Roach, petting the horse as he pulls up the hood of his cloak to hide his features from most onlookers. "Let us move on. I am eager to find our cartographer.
All mounted up and ready to go you make you're way out of town based on the directions Rend wrote down. You know that you'll be following a large stream and some trappers trails up into the hills for a while as you make your way up the mountain and the nice shopkeeper who gave you the directions may have mentioned to keep an eye out for wild beasts.
I'm guessing it took maybe a couple hours to get everyone up, fed, geared etc, so it's probably getting close to mid morning at this point.
Halizthan well finihs his meal and as he usually does every day will cast Mage Armor on himself, keeping his staff gripped tightly in one hand even as they ride. "Keep a look out for anything that seems out of place."
"Yes you do seem out of place. Stand still so that I can blast you with a fireball or lightning." Halizthan deadpans at him as he rolls his visisble eye a bit to mess with the small dragonkin.
Before they left, Felicity will have recast Gentle Repose to keep the demon corpse preserved in her bag. "Let's enjoy this warmth while it lasts. I hope we don't run into anything until we reach the cartographer."
You all make your way up the stream and through some trapper trails. The terrain is getting more rugged and the trail more steep. On the way up you pass a couple trappers who tell you your wasting your time going out today. Nobody has had any luck.
Eventually (after around 6 hours of travel, assuming you stopped for food and tending mounts at some point) you get to a spot where the trail pretty much peters out in front of a waterfall. It's a long rolling waterfall, tumbling down several drops. The directions you've gotten say you'll need to skirt around the falls for an hour or so until you can make your way up and back to follow to stream.
Felicity's winter clothes are light, warm, and flashy. Most of it is light browns and tans of various foxes and bear pelts.
ooc- Yeah just stayed up late and did a lot over the weekend.

Rend was thinking a cloak like this... or one that he can wear more over his head.

J'Anna would look similar to this but long straight hair
Rend would have paid for the special delivery and dropped the 10 gold and an extra gold piece to make sure nothing bad happened to it.
Sweet!

"You mean like a kobold dressed up like a bear riding a dog" Rend would say with a snicker.
