Thalia has moved back toward the center of the main room, gaze fixed on the boulder currently pinning the bed to the floor. Giants... had there seriously been giants attacking Nightstone? Throwing boulders and everything? But what could they possibly have wanted with a quiet little town like this? They didn't seem to be around now—not that Thalia could see all that far in the dark, but, well, presumably you'd hear stomping or something, right?—but where could they have gone? Would they come back? Would—
The dragonborn looks up when the gnome returns from his scouting and suggests finding a place to rest. "Oh, what?" she says, blinking away a daze. "Oh, uh, yes, that's a good idea... as long as Gum-Gum was right and the giants are no longer in the area, at least, although this damage certainly doesn't look years old to me. But should we wait for, um..." It takes Thalia a moment to remember the name herself. "...Frixori to make her way back? She scooted off to the temple to retrieve something, I think she said. I'm sure she's capable of taking care of herself, but at the very least she ought to know how to catch up with us."
Rat does a quick mental inventory of things seen so far and says, "We should check upstairs in this inn, see if some room can be warmed up and take a rest right here."
He then grabs the goblin corpse, drags it out the back door and closes and bars it.
Frixori returns to the inn stuff some envelopes into her pack. "So, shall we continue searching the town? No point in resting now if there are more of these things lurking about," she points to the goblin with the slashed throat.
Rat replies, "It was already evening when we were 10 miles away in this rather unpleasant weather. I'll gladly take the first watch and create buddy corpses for this one if that makes you sleep easier."
(That's for you to decide, but if you neglect to take at least one short rest for the duration of the night you will each suffer one level of exhaustion.)
Iz collects the bag that the goblin was trying to run off with and will clamber up the stairs to try to find a room that still has all of its walls and shutters and a fireplace and can accommodate everyone more in relative comfort. Once she finds one that works well enough, she chews on a muffin and hums her happy tune, starts a fire and sets the pot over it and starts trying to make a serviceable chicken stew occasionally running down to the kitchen to look for potatoes, barley, carrots, salt and other seasonings. If there are any seasonings left over, she'll collect them and add them to her pack.
(OOC: If there are no objections, I'm adding all this to my inventory; a frying pan, an iron pot, a bullseye lantern, two flasks of oil, a set of cook's utensils, ajar of cloves, ajar of saffron, a dented silver jug)
After Iz has warmed her belly with some of her own lackluster cooking, she will sit down near whoever is taking first watch, wrapped in two thick human-sized blankets, and idly pluck her lute. She plays the same tune she's been humming since the group has been walking together on the road, practicing it a few times and writing notes in a small journal. When it's the next watch she will go back to the room with the fire, try to stoke the fire without waking anyone, then find a drawer that seems about her size and roll into it for the evening.
"Actually, I wouldn't mind taking the first round of watch," Thalia says, trying to keep her tone bright and conversational as she scouts the room for a spot that looks at least a little comfortable. "I've got to get a head start on my letter to Mr. Zaratan, after all—especially after all of this... well... this." She gestures around vaguely at the abandoned inn and grimaces before finally choosing a spot to sit, then opening the spare cloak to inspect her parchment and make sure it isn't too damp. "Since I'll be up a bit late anyway, I'm fine staying awake a little longer to make sure nothing happens, and I can nudge Rat or Druug when I'm tired. Unless someone else would really rather go first?"
"Since it seems everyone is in need of a rest...," Frixori makes here way towards the stairs. "Someone wake me up for the last watch. Going to do a little light reading to help Dallas asleep I suppose." When the tiefling gets to her room she takes a moment to browse the letters from the temple to see if there's anything interesting.
Iz finds a comfortable, if damaged, room. Most of the furnishings in the room were destroyed when a rock flattened the northwest corner of the inn, but the bed remains. Hanging on the east wall is a tapestry depicting a mountain landscape, and tucked under the window in the southeast corner is a locked wooden chest. What remains of the floor is safe to walk on.
Frix finds a vacant bedroom containing two beds, an empty wardrobe, a desk, and a matching chair. An oil lamp sits on one corner of the desk, and another rests on a small table tucked between the two beds. A bearskin rug lies on the floor.
The room Druug finds has been devastated by the giants. A falling rock has punched a hole in the roof and torn away most of the floor before coming to rest in the dining room. It destroyed two beds and a wardrobe as it passed through the chamber, leaving a desk and chair tucked under the window in the northeast corner of the room unscathed. A human woman with blonde hair writing at the desk turns when you enter the room. She wears the simple clothes of a traveling monk, and she has a purple bruise on her forehead. A winged snake is curled around her left arm.
"Thank the gods, I'm not alone!" She exclaims. "I don't remember seeing you in town before the giants came." She adds, cocking her head.
Druug blinks in surprise at seeing the woman. He narrows his eyes at her as he takes in both the bruise on her face and the snake on her arm. "I was not here before. Giants did this?" he asks, sweeping his hand at the destruction of the room. "Why? And where did they go?" It suddenly occurs to Druug that he may not be the best - er, envoy, to be parleying with this human woman. He stomps loudly on the floor and then shouts, "Frix! Thalia! Iz! Rat! Come quickly!" He will move to block the woman from fleeing, though he is careful to not appear threatening.
Frixori comes running from her room, crossbow ready to fire on the threat the cleric has located. "More goblins?!" Upon turning into the room she drops the lowers the weapon, immediately noticing the symbol on this one's arm and shows her a like symbol carved into the stock of her crossbow. "Oh...!? What are you doing here," she asks bluntly.

(Frixori would return from the remple as quick as possible, waiting until later to read the letters.)
Rat would like to lead the search for a place to stay for the night. (120ft darkvision, stealth, perception, City Secrets background)
All of Rat's various features point to one conclusion... You're in an inn! :P
The rooms are just upstairs.

(Sorry, I should have been more clear... What time if day is it? I know it was dark when we got to town, but evening comes early in the winter.)
(It's approaching midnight.)

Druug nods at Thalia. “Wake me for the next watch,” he says. He heads up the stairs and looks for a suitable place to rest.
