The sending stones begin to buzz in your pockets. When you remove them from your pocket, the carved nondescript face that was one on the side of the stone is replaced with an image of Chad's portrait. "Come in team. How are things going so far? I'm still airborne, barely, after that barrage. It's going to take an extra day for me to get home at this point.
As you know, goblins are highly frowned upon in certain parts of Waterdeep. They're not necessarily an “illegal” race or anything like that. Certain parts of the city are more used to goblins than other parts. The dock ward gets visitors from all over. They are a lot more accepting of goblins than say the Castle and North Wards where all the wealthy live."
Jallmur has forgotten that there is a stone in his pocket. When it vibrates, he throws it on the ground and hisses. When the stone begins to speak, Jallmur remembers that Chadwick gave him a sending stone. Jallmue begins to talk to Chadwick.
"Jallmur think we are not doing so well. The goblinses and Jallmur tried breaking into tavern, but big fleshy men scared us away."
Jallmur addresses the party next.
"Silly goblinses. Jallmur will be winning the cloak and ring by fighting. Robbing the winner be bad. That goes against Goliath ways."
[Did I understand Chad to mean that we were in the part of town that we could be out on the street, or even enter the fights as goblins?]
Basically yeah. At least here in the dock ward. The city guard will watch you closer but probably won’t bother you any. It’s not uncommon for goblin ships to come into port and the goblin pirates to spend coin at taverns.
Skeekbad picks up the stone again and presses it close to her mouth so that her spittle gets all over it as she speaks and it muffles her voice a bit "Hello, hello, Skeekbad is talking. Goblins break into Bloody Fist human tent and make a ruckus. Big-dogs and mangy humans spotted goblins when goblins running. Goblins making plans to join fightclub. Maybe goblins find big coat and make tall person disguise?"
Skeekbad lowers the stone from her mouth and looks at Gizzmo blankly as if she doesn't understand the question. Then answers after a beat.
"Skeekbad talks to goblins and Chad and maybe Snack if Snack listening. Even if goblins are okay as goblins in the Dock docks, may be best to disguise as things other than goblins in case of trouble."
The flyer has today’s date on it. Judging by the setting sun and the fact the owner arrived to open up shop, you assume it’s starting soon. If there are a few very mundane things you might be able to pick them up before the fight.
"I can start by making Jallimur harder to hit." He activates his tinker's glove and places a small patch of cured leather in its palm. He then slaps Jallimur on the chest. It flares for a moment and then it is gone. mage armor
"I might wait till later to disguise myself. I don't know if it is necessary yet."

"Jallmur can fight if Jallmur wants. Gizzmo or Skeekbad have magic that help Jallmur win? Wensa can try to steal the prizes during the fights."
Gizzmo ponders.
"I don't know what safeguards are in place against cheating but I could make Jallimur harder to hit." mage armor
Alter self also lets a person become natural weapons, but we'd have to hide that somehow [changing hands]
[DM: does alter self drop if attacked? It didn't seem to from reading about it]
No. It will hold for an hour unless dropped by the user.

Jallmur
Jallmur has forgotten that there is a stone in his pocket. When it vibrates, he throws it on the ground and hisses. When the stone begins to speak, Jallmur remembers that Chadwick gave him a sending stone. Jallmue begins to talk to Chadwick.

"Silly goblinses. Jallmur will be winning the cloak and ring by fighting. Robbing the winner be bad. That goes against Goliath ways."
Gizzmo nods, checks that the others are listening. He frets that Jallimur was hit on the head.
"Goliath.? Well right then. A fight you say."

"Skeebad, who are you talking to? Yes, I can disguise myself as a human if it's necessary." He indicates his tinker stilt boots.

"So Jallmur fight and win. Goblins get magics. Good plan. Goblins need things first? Jallmur need things? When fight start?"
As Skeekbad mentions snack. Wensa looks in to her belt pouch. "Snack sleeping. Lazy Snack."

I can't think of anything.
Gizzmo
"So should we make our way back on to the street, just before sign ups end, and see how it goes ?"
I didn't know if you guys needed an overcoat for the tall goblin on stilts thing. Or a suit and a Don King wig.
Maybe Jallmur needed some American flag shorts? Or anything tie-dyed? Leather pants? Faee paint?

”Wensa ready.”
Jallmur
I don't think I need leather pants. Mage armor and goodberry might be useful though.
"Jallmur also ready"
