Madam, given your expressed sympathy with our cause, and apparent understanding, I expect you would be telling us of what you specifically are aware of in regards to the missing relic. Insight: 10. Therefore, the only question I have for you, is do you know anywhere, other than his room, that is special to the boy, where he might hide such an object? Other than that, I would ask your permission to search the boy’s room, by both conventional and magical means, and failing that, to search the remainder of the orphanage.
I do not know anything about any relics stolen, or otherwise, from the temple. If I did, I would surely return them to Father Petrovich.
You have my permission to search where you must, but I do insist that you do not make a mess, and that you do not disturb the children while they are resting.
There are two windows on the wall behind her, and a third on the wall to your right (her left), overlooking the front of the orphanage.
Barnaby does not gain any new information with his Insight roll.
You are welcome to ask more questions, if you like.
Also, roll Perception checks.
If you roll a 14 or higher, read this:
There is a series of matching, unlabeled volumes - perhaps, judging from their size, ledgers - on a shelf near the headmistress. That shelf is covered with a glass pane, with a latch at the bottom. It looks like there is a small locking mechanism on it.
Also, the headmistress has two texts on her desk, one of which appears to be related to illness, and the other appears to be related to the curative powers of various herbs.
I just type out what shows on the screen when you use the desktop button. I do almost everything here on my phone. I am rarely at a computer that allows access to dnd beyond.
Lucento’s stoic expression masks a heightened anxiety as he casually, but deliberately, scans the room for the source of the evil presence he detected earlier. There are so many books in here, I wonder what’s so special about the volumes on that shelf behind the locked glass case.
"Forgive me, but I couldn’t help but notice you have books on illness and the healing power of herbs out on your desk. Have you found anything that may provide insight into Mili’s symptoms?"
"That’s unfortunate, though I can’t say I’m surprised. I’ve never seen anything quite like it." Lucento leans back and crosses his arms in thought.
"Grave-digging seems an odd occupation for someone so young. Has there long been a relationship between this institution and the temple? Or, between you and Father Petrovich?"
“Certainly he might consort with anyone, when he is not here. He helps all his little foster brothers and sisters here, and sometimes he helps out at the temple. By digging graves, among other things.”

If I were a grave digger, and I needed to hide a body, I would hide it in a grave. Let's see what clues we can find here, and then maybe consider heading to the grave yard.
May we borrow the shovel? He asks addressing the matron.
You nitwits gentlemen have gone way far down this rabbit trail without considering other clues you have. I won’t stop you from pursuing this angle but there are other things you haven’t expressed the slightest interest in.
Ben, is this the room from whence came the evil?
Yes honored matron. Føpé says chastised.
Yes. The very same.
Are there any windows in the room?

Perception: 13
Edit: Blue: God I suck at this game.
Edit 2: The roll was accidentally manipulated. It was way suckier before, but still fails with the cheating.
How did you do the die roll from your phone?
I just type out what shows on the screen when you use the desktop button. I do almost everything here on my phone. I am rarely at a computer that allows access to dnd beyond.

I don’t understand why you guys are so bad at Perception. At least when you were dragging Ireena around you had someone to make these rolls for you.
Lucento, can you bail these turkeys out?

Sadly, no. I do not think these herbs grow anywhere in Barovia, unfortunately. She gestures at an ancient tome on her desk.
And he does not have any sickness that I can find in here. I anticipate returning these books to the town later today or tomorrow.
Barnaby, if he asks, receives permission to study the books himself. They don't have anything useful in them.

Has he consorted with any sinister characters of late? Anyone out of the ordinary? Føpé asks hesitantly.
