The intent was that Barnaby was speaking loudly through the door backing up the statement made by Misalyk, but he will happily present the deed upon request. Here you are madam. Now, how do you come to be taking residence and/or running a business out of this establishment?
She ignores you, as she studies the deed. Well, that's nice, dear. I've been baking here for over 20 years. And now with my daughters, and it is our home! And what do you intend to do with this place, when it is yours? Will you be baking pies as well? I think not. She twists her lips in thought.
Could you wait for a moment, please? She closes the door in your faces. If you look through a window, you will see her moving around pastries in the oven. She returns to the door, and opens it again. Well. It will take us some time to gather our things. And to secure a new bakery! So. Here, take these, and come back tomorrow afternoon. We will have left by then.
She gives you a cloth bundle with three pastries in it, warm and flaky, and swings the door shut again. You may act before it's closed, if you want.
"Unfortunately my dear lady tomorrow will not do. Gather your things and keep the pies you can sell them to help bolster your future. We will of course come along to ensure you do not take anything that is part of the mill. Not because we think you would but we must follow procedure of course." Misalyk will move to keep the door open.
Barnaby will ritually cast detect magic before approaching, but definitely too far away for now. He will cast mage armor on himself though.
Anything from detect magic? If so, location and school of magic within 30 feet please.
There is a moderately powerful source of divination magic toward the center of the room.
Kif catches the door with his heavy boot, and the party forces its way in. The woman backs up a few steps, hands in the air in a gesture of submission.
Wait, wait! I think we might be able to work something out.
You see, we are trying to do something good here. I think that the children in Saint Andral's Orphanage in Vallaki, if you know it, are in terrible danger. We want to rescue them, but we do not have the strength. Can you bring the children here, and we can protect them?
It's difficult to get a good read, but she does appear to be scrambling for ideas, rather than speaking from a completed plan that is ready to execute.
The ground floor, Area O1, has been converted into a makeshift kitchen, cluttered and a bit messy. Baskets and old dishware are piled here and there. Adding to the clutter is a chicken coop, a heavy wooden trunk, and a pretty wooden cabinet with flowers painted on its doors. There is an open barrel in the center of the room, which does not appear to be occupied.
^ What you already knew.
Now that you're in the room, Barnaby would guess that the open barrel - the only thing in the center of the room - was the source of the magic. You can go to the map. Misalyk, you can borrow Lucento's token, but at some point soon please fetch your own. I suspect you know how, but if you need help, I volunteer the services of my brother Josh, aka Barnaby/Chubs.
The door is now open for everybody on the lighting layer. It's a nice looking bakery. A bit messy. They don't appear to be set up for anything other than those pastries you've seen for sale in Vallaki, and there is the mysterious barrel in the middle of the room.
Yes, it's a small space, and the barrel is full. There's a liquid in it, something swirling with different dark blues, greens, and purples. It also has an unpleasant acrid smell. Not like anything dead or rotten. Just acrid, like plastic smoke.

Bringing children to witches is never a good idea, but for form’s sake,

do we see anything more in the room now we're inside?

Misalyk is going to try and push further into the room looking around for why she's so worried that we would come in.
Acrobatics to try and slip past and start poking around? 23

Misalyk, I am happy to help with a token if you'd like.
DM, you will have to open the door on the lighting layer if we are to see inside or be able to move inside.
Barnaby will stay just outside the door while Chubs follows Misalyk's lead attempting to slide through the door. Acrobatics: 19
Barnaby calls after them: Careful boys, there is a distinct arcane stink rising from that barrel.

Misalyk has a beautiful token, which he made for himself! Please put your AC in the blue and your HP in the red, Misalyk.
OK, lady, I believe it's time for you and yours to find a new place to squat and make you creepy pastries.
Is Kif close enough to look in the barrel?
