This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Drusk init: 20 DM rolls:
11, 18, 11, 17, 18, 14, 18, 14, 14, 14
The blue area is difficult terrain for this round, due to the ice storm. The wagons, horses, and trees are cover and difficult terrain.
For the first round, you can move your character 5' for free. (They were talking and standing around the back of the wagons, but didn't have to be in that arrangement.)
W = warlord (plate + shield hobgoblin), D = devastator (leather + staff hobgoblin)
Initiative: Hobgoblins 5-8 go first, then the the party, then the remaining hobgoblins.
The hobgoblins on the east side of the road are firing their bows, 1 at each party member except for Jorin. (Everyone gets +4 AC due to cover.)
To-hit vs. Quillary: 7, Drusk: 8, Hildigrim: 5, Pascal: 9
Arrows "thunk" into the wagon around the party, one of them a finger-span away from Hildigrim's head. Quillary is hit critically, for 9 damage.
Everyone can post. I'll adjust the order for best effect. (For example, Hildigrim using Help will go before someone else.)
Beegred Thornpost - Lvl 8 Halfling Ranger - Out of the Abyss by Kerrec Drusk - Lvl 8 Half-Orc Life Cleric - The Long Road: Dragon Heist by Mingofaust (player & current DM) Hunferho Aelorothi - Lvl 5 Half-Elf Bard/Rogue - Baldur's Gate: Descent Into Avernus (by Pokepaladdy) DM - Frontier City of Nunkreet (ended)
OOC > And remind us, what are our capabilities? We are in form human acolytes of Imix or the like, but in function ourselves?
I went back and found the answer, “You all find yourselves in bodies that are not your own. You still have your original forms (OOC: hit points, skills, equipment), but at the same time you are humans in robes. You feel as though you have full control over your bodies. (For example, Hildigrim is able to move around normally, in spite of being twice as tall as usual.)”
Before anyone else in the group acts, Drusk casts a 3rd level Bless. Everyone gets a d4 added to any to-hit roll or saving throw.
He also smiles at Pascal. "You know how you are always complaining about not being able to cast Fireball?"

OOC > And remind us, what are our capabilities? We are in form human acolytes of Imix or the like, but in function ourselves?
(OOC: That is it. Move and act as you normally do, including HP, AC, and spell slots.
The "dream logic" will adjust to having human acolytes somehow doing strange things. For example, Hildigrim can still use Halfling Nimbleness, even though that will make it look like his human form is slithering around other creatures.
It will be disturbing the first time Pascal uses Hungry Jaws as a "human", but it will be waved off as evil acolytes being insanely evil.)

"Here's hoping this works." Hildigrim calls Volo from his pocket dimension and the tiny owl appears, fluttering above the approaching hobgoblins. "Huzzah!" the halfling in human form cheers. He directs Volo at whichever creature Drusk is targeting (probably H8?) to give him advantage and then points at the same creature, giving Pascal some insight on how to attack it as well.
(OOC: I'm not sure exactly what happened, but through dream logic, Hildigrim's familiar is there... I'll have Volo and Hildigrim wait a bit to see who to Help with their attack. Drusk cast Bless, and Pascal or Quillary might do an area attack with saving throws.
Pascal/Quillary/Jorin: At least 2 of you are getting Help for your first to-hit roll... And don't forget Bless.)

Quillary looks the field over, grimacing from the arrow that hit her, ducks behind the wagon she is next to, and casts a spell, making the ground around the northern hobgoblins sprout in spiky thorns. "Jorin, stay out of the field! Make them come to you!" she warns the others.
Action: Cast Spike Growth at the grid intersection just northeast of H1 (sorry nameless dream horse!) so that Jorin is just south of the edge. (Is difficult terrain and 2d4 piercing every 5 ft of travel)

she/her Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands.
Action: Cast Spike Growth at the grid intersection just northeast of H1 (sorry nameless dream horse!)
(Dream horse isn't moving, so no harm to it.
OOC: I still feel like Spike Growth is massively overpowered for a 2nd level spell... Don't be surprised when chain mail clad figures are jumping into trees and onto wagons, to make the damage more manageable.)

Jorin vaults over the wagon, moving just to the east side of it vs where he is now. He roars a challenge at the warlord hobgoblin, "You look worthy, come, fight me!"
Move: 2 squares left
Bonus Action: RAGE
Action: Hold attack for first creature that enters his range (rolls in spoilers)
(For Jorin: is he jumping on top of the wagon to the left, or onto the spike-spelled ground to the left of the wagon?
Is he looking to throw javelins at the first clear target, or waiting with his battle axe for something in melee range?)

Waiting for a melee combatant. I was trying to put him on the left side of the wagon, not in the spikes...if thats possible. If not, i'll reconsider my move.

(OOC: Actually, you are fine. My bad. I was thinking of a spot further southwest than what Quillary said.
NE of H1 will keep the area of effect north of Jorin's starting position, so him moving 2 squares to the west is also in the clear.)

Pascal puts on the most evil laugh he can... which is not very evil, “BAHAHA! You’re all just memories of flame! Shattering fragments of a time forgotten!”Pascal leans over to the group, “Y’all think I’m laying it on a bit thick? I feel like I just ain’t believable as being scary...”
