Hildigrim's eyes go wide as Jorin stomps to the door. "But ... we're in the Docks. The Watch doesn't —" He briefly looks around as if to hide, but then resolves to stand up straight as a board right where he is, a slight whimper escaping him. "Oh, I hope this goes well."
As Jorin walks towards the door, calling out, it opens (Drusk wins!) and City Watch spill in. There are at least a dozen of them, and they fan out, truncheons pointed at you, "Hands away from your weapons!" "Stand back!" "Stay your place!" etc. One officer stands out, a tall well-mustachioed human male, who immediately takes charge.
"Well then," he takes in the dead bodies, the freshly dead Kenku, the lot of you, then his eyes land on Renaer Neverember, and his manner changes subtly. "Lord Neverember! I am... I did not expect to find you here... what is the meaning of," and we waves, "All of this? Are these people with you?"
"Captain Staget!" he says. "These heroes have saved me from these Kenku thugs, the others are dead of each other, and my friend taken away! I would have the Watch seek him out, he is in grave danger." Renaer approaches the Captain and they speak for a bit. Meanwhile the Watch lower their truncheons and begin surveying the dead. The conscious Kenku is taken into custody.

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
As the guards enter, Ilena tucks her journal away swiftly, then slowly raises her arms. She can't help but smile when they say 'hands away from your weapons' but she quickly changes her expression to stoic. She makes eyes at Pascal, (that's their thing now), and tilts her head slowly toward the unconscious Kenku with a questioning look. She hopes he gets her meaning.
Jorin stands relaxed, hands folded across his chest. He says to Neverember and the Captain, "We were hired to find Floon, we will aid in the hunt until he is found."
Captain Staget looks over Renaer's shoulder at Jorin. "You'll be keeping your noses out of trouble, citizen," he says firmly. "There's war on these streets, and you'd do best to remove yourselves from the Dock Ward and keep to your own business." He dismisses you and goes back to speaking with Lord Neverember.
One of the Watch approaches him and says a few words, to which Captain Staget explains, "Xanathar and Zhents! Let's get these thugs to the station and see what they have to say."
Another, leaning over the unconscious Kenku says, "Captain, this one's alive!"
They put the conscious Kenku in manacles and bundle him out of the building, and a large Watchman throws the unconscious one over his shoulder and heads out. Captain Staget directs a few to stay with the bodies until a crew comes, and a few to search the building, then with a few words for Renaer, he turns to you all.
"Mark my words, citizens, you'd best keep clear of this and keep your weapons sheathed. The City is grateful for your rescue of one of our Lords, but we'll handle it from here. If you've any concerns, take it to the magistrates at the Palace in the morning. For now, be about your way, back to your beds."
Renaer looks less than pleased with the result of his conversation with the Captain.

Ilena puts her hands in her coat pockets, to sheath her weapons.
"Renaer, you look displeased. What was that conversation about, and do you have any idea where we might find your friend Floo-Floo?" anyone who has been paying attention notices that she speaks to him familiarly, while she has been calling everyone else 'Master or Lady <Insert Name>', and it you're really insightful you might be able to tell that it's because she doesn't respect him, and is inadvertently treating him like a child.
Hildigrim breathes out an unconsciously-held breath when the Watch lowers their truncheons. He watches the men survey the room, but doesn't move. At any command by the well-mustachioed human male, the halfling nods obligingly.
Hildigrim scowls at Ilena's tone of voice when speaking with Neverember. In the end, the rogue offers to the captain, "I would feel safer escorting m'lord home. He has had such a harrowing experience, I would feel better knowing he returned safely."
Pascal is just sitting back and letting the rest of the non-lizards have their conversations. He is, however, watching for anything distinctly unusual.

OOC: You guys like to post a bunch between my posts during the week, so I'll just say Hildigrim wants to question Neverember further about who took him: if he heard them say anything that might be useful, or if he saw anything that might be useful (clues, my dear Watson). He's also curious why they're after Neverember, since he said they've mistaken Floon for him. Finally, he'd ask the lord if there's anything he can do to help them find Floon — monetarily or equipment-wise. Also, perhaps the lord would put them up for the night? He also wants to ask Ilena why she doesn't like him, but that can wait until tomorrow if the opportunity to ask her tonight doesn't present itself.
As the Watch goes about their business, tidying up, exclaiming over the paintings (there's a minor hubbub over the silver, too), you all gather to speak to Renaer. He does his best to answer your questions.
He seems unconcerned by any attitude Ilena might be giving him. "Captain Staget seems to believe he has his hands full with the murders in the Dock Ward and elsewhere, and with just one witness talking, and that a Kenku, he doubts the Watch will be able to be much assistance. He said I should ask 'some of my friends,'" and he looks around at you.
When Hildi offers to take him home, he says, "I would be grateful for an escort out of the Dock Ward, but I should like to see Volo, if he set you to find me. Do you know where he is?"
When questioned about how and why he was kidnapped, he says, "Floon and I were beset a block west of the Skewered Dragon, by four or five Zhentarim," and he indicates the dead bodies being organized by the Watch. "They brought us here, but were immediately jumped by a dozen or more of the Xanathar goons. In the ruckus, I hid, but Floon was not so lucky. From where I was hidden, I heard them asking Floon about my father's supposed treasure, but then they came looking for me and I hid. I guess they took him away. Did you get nothing out of that Kenku about where they might have taken him?"

OoC - Did we actually find a back room with someone tied up in it? The one Kenku kept saying that and i don't think Neverember was tied up?
Jorin is unaccustomed to being talked to in such a...ordering-him-about...manner. He initially bristles but before he could say, or possibly do, something that would only stir the pot more, Neverember pulls the group aside to answer Hildi's questions. The momentary distraction is enough to tamp down his rising anger and he replies to Neverember, "We were hired by Volo while taking in the sights at The Portal. You might find him there still, though that was earlier this evening."
OOC > You have seen all the rooms, it would appear nobody is tied up anymore. Ilena did a thorough search upstairs, and if you'd missed anything, the Watch would have found it now. Floon is not in the warehouse.

"We can take you by the Portal on the way," Hildigrim says. When Neverember asks about where Floon might have been taken, Hildigrim's brow furrows. "All it said was something about following yellow signs in the sewers." He looks around the group to see if that makes sense to anyone.
Ilena shrugs and shakes her head. "But one wonders if we shouldn't investigate the lead as soon as possible. Who knows what they could be doing to poor... what was it?... Floon, if they think he is withholding information."
Pascal gestures to the door, as if to say, “want me to get that?”

Jorin says, "We have saved a man and got rid of some thugs in the process. I think we have nothing fear from The Watch."
He stows his axes on his belt and calls out, "Hail City Watch, I am opening the door." before headings towards the door to open it.
