Chadwick Bernard Gloomblast is from a noble family of wizards. He always tries to do what is best, but sometimes his actions are less than stellar if he can look cool by doing something else. Chad was interning with a famous adventuring group, but after a few disagreements, broke his contract. On his way out, he stole a cloak and lapel pin from his wizard mentor hoping to bring luck on himself. Chad is dressed in a purple cloak with a gold lapel pin covering an off white shirt and brown leather riding pants. On his belt is a wand in a holster for easy access. Since his exit from his internship, he aims to bring honor to his family as his ancestors have for decades.

The island was too small for her to think clearly or process what she had learned, so she made her way to the mainland in search of space, time, and redemption. She tries to right the wrong she sees in the world, even if that means breaking the laws of the land -- lawful does not always equal just. She wears a deep green cloak around her shoulders and a wide brimmed hat of the same colour pulled low over her dark eyes. Her skin is olive and just as warm as her smile.
New to 5e and returning D&D player from the 90s here. I'm trying to start out with PbP campaigns. I'm not available for discord but should be fine with PbP. I'm very interested to start out with a campaign to get me back into the game.
Vormash was the son of two prominent human adventurers, conceived and born in the Feywilds. Vormash's parents thought that they could never be able to take care of their child while caught in a conflict between Fey and the dragons of the Feywild. They briefly traveled to the Prime Material Plane to leave Vormash in the care of monks. Having been brought up by monks and trained to be one, Vormash thought that the monks' rules and tradition keeps him from something greater. One day, Vormash decided it was time for him to go out to the world and explore it's vastness. Chasing after the thought of something bigger than himself, he left the monastery with only a pack of essentials and his quarterstaff. Being kept in the monastery has taken a toll on his social skills and Vormash tries to avoid big cities or towns and travelling on side roads avoiding interactions with people. Only time will tell if he is destined for something greater, if destiny has a path for him, and if being born in the Feylands has anything to do with all of this.

In the city of Neverwinter, a dwarf named Gundren Rockseeker asked each of you to bring a wagonload of provisions to the rough-and-tumble settlement of Phandalin, a couple of days’ travel southeast of the city. Gundren was clearly excited and more than a little secretive about his reasons for the trip, saying only that he and his brothers had found “something big,” and that he’d pay you ten gold pieces each for escorting his supplies safely to Barthen's Provisions, a trading post in Phandalin. He then set out ahead of you on horse, along with a warrior escort named Sildar Hallwinter, claiming he needed to arrive early to “take care of business.” You’ve spent the last few days following the High Road south from Neverwinter, and you've just recently veered east along the Triboar Trail. You’ve encountered no trouble so far, but this territory can be dangerous. As the sun rises you all slowly wake to continue your journey. Enjoying a campfire breakfast and breaking down your camp while collecting the cart full of supplies. What do you want to do?
(Since you all have been traveling together for a few days if you would like to start with anything the party has gleaned of your personality in the short time they have met you and also how you know/have come to be employed by Gundren.)
As we're breaking camp, Poxl is certainly helping to clean up and do what needs to be done. She's wearing her green cloak and hat, she's got an easy open smile, and while she's armed, she seems to not really notice the weapons she carries, or at least, you've never seen her use them. She would like to take a look around, just check if there's anything she should be aware of (perception 9 ) Otherwise, you've noticed that she's really keen and helpful, but she doesn't really seem to, like, know a lot about the world? She's not quite naive, but something like that. When asked how she got involved/employed by Gundrun she says:
Oh, I had just gotten off the ship in Neverwinter and out there on the docks is a posting board with all sorts of ads on it, wanted ads and the like. And one of them was an offer to secure a transport job to Phandalin and well, since I've never been there, it sounded fun. And then we all met and he said that it would pay 10 gold and that sounded like a good deal, so here I am! How about all of you? Where are you all from?
Chad wakes from his slumber and drapes his purple cloak over himself, adjusts his lapel pin and exits his makeshift sleeping quarters. Chad will help clean, not by lifting dishes or heavy things, but rather by casting spells. Chad cleans up dirtied cooking utensils using [Tooltip Not Found]. Chad wipes his hands off even though he touched nothing. "Well let's press on. The sooner we get to town, the sooner we can get paid." Chad jumps up on the back of the wagon and practices his magic during the trip. "I was sent out to adventure and gather information about the surrounding lands for the adventuring company I am employed with." Chad taps the lapel pin on his cloak.

As we break camp, Vormash quickly rises up from "deep meditation" trying to do some warm up exercises and stretching his legs for the journey ahead. He quickly rolls up his bed and arranges his pack to prepare for the long travel to the next town. As usual, Vormash rarely interacts with the group, just nodding and agreeing to what Chad had just said. Waiting for the rest to get ready, Vormash leans on his quarterstaff staring at the long road ahead trying to see if there are any dangers up the road ahead. (Perception 6).
As we start to travel along the road, Vormash stays just to the left most side of the road next to the tree line trying to stay, as much as possible, out of sight of the rest of the group. (Stealth 17)

Baerlinn takes his time packing his things away, too busy watching everyone else, making sure everyone is OK and happy. "ill keep to the front and keep an eye out, don't worry, I'll look after you laddies" (perception: 12)
Being a fellow dwarf Baerlinn has heard of the rockseekers prior, but didn't know any of them personally until meeting Gundren when following the post for a job. He will more than likely try to spend most of his time on the road so far talking to Gundren, until Gundren and his friend make off ahead. With just the small party alone Baerlinn will mostly keep quiet about his past, but will occasionally come out with "you alright laddie" to everyone.
Poxl, Vormash, and Baerlinn you look around your campsite and see the lush untamed forest around you, the sun barely cresting and shining through and over the treetops, the sky a beautiful combinations of oranges and red with just a tint of the blue hue of the coming day. The area where you camped last night is a little ways from the Triboar Trail and has a thick thicket around it make a natural dense foliage wall around the camp. Baerlinn and Poxl you sense movement in the thicket that instantly throws you on guard heart pounding with a burst of readied adrenalin until a small rabbit peeks its way through the brambles. Your heart beat slows and you look to your campsite with the smouldering fire almost out and your current companians on your new job finishing up there breakfasts and packing up.
(ok while we wait for Les can i get a marching order on how you want to set out, two can ride on the cart with one driving it and at what pace do you want to proceed slow normal or fast?)
Vormash is walking right to the left side of the cart away from the other companions that he has recently met trying to avoid any awkward conversations following the pace at which the cart is moving (which I guess is on a normal pace, not wanting to strain the beast of burden pulling the cart).
"ha ha, its just a little rabbit, what you all getting flustered over" as Baerlinn wipes a small bead of sweat from his brow.
Baerlinn will take the front and act as though he's a kind of leader/bodyguard to his troup. "let's take it nice and easy from now, who knows what devil's may creep in the trees! Eyes and ears open everyone!"
(Just a small note but if your walking Baerlinn the party will have to move at a slow pace so you can keep up 25 movement😂 vs horses 40 even heavily encumbered)
Les has been up early to greet the sunrise along with how usually prayers. Once done with that, walking back into the group still holding his amulet of a six pointed sun. He quietly packs his things, waves his hand over the dwindling fire and snuffs it out with thaumaturgy.
Turning to Poxl “I’m a far away from home, on a pilgrimage by myself to see the world and see the light of Pelor.... wherever it might be.” As he sets of to travel with the group
As you set off onward toward Phandelver(Animal handling check for whoever wants to drive the cart next to Les, Also need marching positions for Poxl and Chad) the sun slowly rising in the sky you spend your time conversing and keeping watch around you while passing in the time.
(I need three perception checks for who ever is keeping watch at the beginning, middle and end of the days journey.)
