Orilo quirks a brow at Elya. "Wasn't the reason why-...nevermind. Just don't jump to any conclusions off cuff." He said as Elya first tread into the water. Soon after with Anborn, he simply nodded at first and started setting up the third for him and Ledandra. "Keep distance and spread to cut-off escape if need be. Until Elya engages. Don't want startle him too soon."

The lake is enormous. The boat and the fisherman are about 400 feet from the shore. The three rowboats tied up at shore will each hold 5 people. Elya, you cannot detect anything suspicious at the moment.
Corrin follows alongside Winter, unknowingly sharing the same trepidation. “Do we really have to go into a boat?” He sighs, begrudgingly moving forward while casting a wary eye at the fisherman.

“Unfortunately.” Winter deadpans in response to Corrin. “The faster we kill him, the faster we can get out of this stupid body of water and go.” Winter sits in the boat and allows whomever wants to row to go ahead and do so. She didn’t know a thing about boats and sure as shit wasn’t going to learn now.
She glances over to the water genasi in her natural habitat. “I am not a fan of lakes and oceans, and I cannot swim—“ She catches herself too late, biting the inside of her cheek as punishment. “I will tolerate being on the boat, thank you.”

"Unless you can come up with some way for us all to walk on water, we have to take the boats. I'll try my best to not tip the boat over and drown us all." Once everyone has boarded his boat, Anborn will begin rowing towards the fisherman. "Good afternoon. How's the fishing going?"
Elya looks at Winter shocked, "You don't know how to... swim? Well, it's important that you learn, what if you fell in the water? Here, I'll teach you!"
She then attempts to pull Winter into the water with her. Atheltics: 19
"I know how to swim Elya, that doesn't mean I care to have you tossing us into the lake while we're busy. Especially while I'm wearing armor. And besides, it'll scare away the fisherman." Anborn will hold onto Winter, if she doesn't object, which will Help her stay in the boat and he'll also cast Guidance on her to give her the added boost. "Just focus on rescuing the kid. I don't really feel like doing any more babysitting than I have to."
"Don't you think a boat full of heavily armed people is a bit more intimidating than someone slinking on the surface of the water? I we'd be able to sneak up on him if we all were swimming. Not that he's necessarily a person who needs sneaking up on, but he might be"
As you all talk, your rowboats approach the fisherman and his lone boat. As you approach and Anborn speaks a greeting, the man takes no heed knowing you're slowly coming, and takes a child sized tied burlap sack from next to him in his boat, and tosses it into the water. Whatever's in the sack is sinking fast.
Strangely, the man doesn't even notice you're there.
"It's only intimidating if we're making a big deal out of being armed. And not all of us are as good at swimming as you are. I for one would not be able to vanish under the water like you can. I do have to come up to breathe after all."
And then his frown gets bigger when he sees the man toss the bag into the water. "Elya, get the child! We'll take care of the ****er in the boat!"

The rogue manages to barely not fall off the boat into the water thanks to Anborn's assistance as his touch was clearly more than appreciated now more than ever, Winter shakily muttering thank you's to the cleric.

As Winter wriggles out of her grip, Elya's eyes go wide as she sees the sack and goes full speed towards it, trying to grab it, open it, and bring whatever is inside above the waterline.

Though he never looked, Orilo had been overheard enough to keep shaking his head the whole time over the whole argument. There may have also been some subtle but intentional putting of distance between himself and the others until the bag goes overboard. Cursing underbreathe, all efforts further efforts to approach and appear nonthreateningly gives way to hurried and powerful rowing until he got close enough to grab either man or boat.
The water in the lake is dark, and cloudy. It's hard to find anything in this water, and whatever the fisherman dropped must be sinking fast. You guys are close enough to the fisherman's boat.
Elya, it's hard to see, you're going to need a DC15 Perception check to spot the sack in this terrible water.

LAKE ZAROVICH
EVENING
The lake is enormous. The boat and the fisherman are about 400 feet from the shore. The three rowboats tied up at shore will each hold 5 people.
Elya, you cannot detect anything suspicious at the moment.
If that's the case, then Anborn will suggest that five of us get in one boat an Orilo can extra space in a boat of his own.

Elya pops her head out of the water and looks at Winter and Corrin a bit quizzically, "What's so wrong about boats? Do you prefer swimming?"
