The screams were the final straw. In a brief few moments, the flail comes out as the giant moves to place himself back to back with Song. "Qu-..." Whatever else Orilo intended to say died in his throat to the sound and sight of bats bursting into the church through some stained window. An instinctive rise of a shield proves pointless as the source of the bats materalize off a ways.
In the face of such great evil, even Orilo -- for all his experience and resolve born from suffering -- felt his spirits flag. It took the shock of the slash to start his heart again. Time slows, the two lock gazes, and in the next... a light long thought too corrupted and quenched started to rekindle. In the fleeting time the two have Orilo's eyes turn completely pitch black, the air about him grew warm still, and though clearly painful despite being translucent, bones began erupting from his back.
Whatever transformation that had begun halts as Orilo again reactively raises his shield as if expecting the bats to rush him. "... Strahd."He says coolly breaking the silence between him and Song after standing there staring out the re-opened church doors. Groaning, Orilo forces the phantom bones back into place and looks to Song with faded and blue eyes. "We need to inform the others." He says as he lead the way out and onwards to the Inn.
Strahd's attack has caused quite a panic. The screams attract the city guard, and anyone that was in the Church is in a hysteria. As you try to leave, a few guards converge on your position. You can try and run, or stand your ground and explain.
Anborn hears the screams and sees guards rushing towards the church as he and his companions head towards it. "******* hell. What is it this time?" He sighs as he pulls out his hammer. He casts Aid on Winter, Corrin, and himself, giving each of them 5 additional hit points for the next eight hours. "Just to be safe."
Hearing the screams caused her ears to perk up as she watched Elya and Anborn rush for the church, running behind them without missing another beat. Once inside the building, she takes a look around to see the situation, her eyes locking onto the dead body on the ground, then to the giant. "Orilio, what happened?"

Even knowing or anticipating what may come to pass, Orilo decides to hold his ground at the doorway.Though he kept a hand away from any weapon, the shield stays in place and ready to spring up to deflect any blows from overeager guards. Winter's rush ahead of them (probably from another angle) takes him aback for a moment, though not nearly as much as seeing the others quickly closing the distance.
"Strahd 'appened. Though not without help from someone here making off with a saint's bones." He gives her a sidelong glance. "When the time comes you may wish to distance yourself. Song too."Assuming there's no time more to say anything, he stands resolute to wait for the guards inevitable bum rush of his position.

When Anborn arrives at the church, he freezes for a second when he hears that Strahd was responsible for what happened. "Not even the houses of the gods are safe in this blasted country. Were you at least able to learn where the thief went with the saint's bones, so that we can return them?" He looks at the guards who are advancing on the church. "You sure you can handle this, big guy?"
(The graveyard where Milivoj would work at is just a very short distance out of town, north. Since you all went to the Church where the guards converged after the attack, you all might be considered suspects as, at least, Oreo and Song were there.)
The guards all tell you not to move while they look around, one of them comes up to you for questioning.
Orilo had simply nodded in turn, and silently thanked his good fortune for reasonable guards. "Mercenaries with misfortunate timing" The giant replied calmly. "And-..." He catches himself, looks over to the body, then with a sigh turns back to her. "You are the captain of squad?" Whether she responds in the positive or demands for him to get to the point, he looks again to the other guards, then at a volume meant for her and any party members immediately next to him adds, "It was Strahd, or so I believe the... creature to be. Found his way in because of some stolen bones according to the hu--head priest here."

"Very well." The guard says. "Be about your business then. We'll take it from here. This is a city watch matter now. All will be well. Go on." She says, and shoos you all away.
"Good day officers." Anborn says as he starts to head off. "Come on, we have to go find the stolen bones and bring them back so that this doesn't happen again."

Orilo grunts in agreement to Anborn. "Settle, Elya. We have nothing concrete."He replied to the water genasi. Though its clear in tone there's a "Yet" to follow those words.
Turning back to the officer, he adds to her. "May next we meet is under... better circumstances. And if needed, you can find us at Blue Waters."It's a small one, but he tries to smile in thanks at the end there. Unfortunately(or fortunately?), it /could/ come off as more alluring(?) than originally intended out of the half-goliath. Whichever way it's taken, he doesn't hold up Anborn in leading their group away; only waits until some distance is put between them and the guards before asking of their own activities.
"Fun time."He deadpans without meaning to. "Oh right. The lead... We need to go see a gravekeeper by the name of Melikivoj or something. Head Priest had-..." He sucks in a breathe as if girded himself. "Reason to believe he might've made off with the bones. Said this Meli did not believe so many fenstivals really helped anything."

The groundskeeper Milivoj is just a short ways north of town, at the graveyard. It is now late at night. Updating.
"I know the night is nefarious and all, but it might not be a good idea to let this Milivoj get a night's head start on us"
