The illusion of Zinnwalks farther and farther into the dark chamber and the ballistae remain inert somewhere in the darkness at the far end.
(based on the aforementioned rabbit hole, I’m betting the illusions just don’t work on the ballista and we get shot when we go out there :p).
“I think the ballista are immune to illusions,” Kaltent tells the others. “Unless anyone things they just happened to stop working...” he eyes the others skeptically, perhaps lingering on Bronx a bit longer than the others.
"Yeah, if we can work out a way to disable or destroy them, that doesn't involve being shot multiple times while doing it, I'm keen."
Shift waits by a wall, absent-mindedly scratching at the wall with his acid claws, while trying to think of approaches to the problem, and failing at both.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Zinnbecomes increasingly frustrated and angry as long moments pass without any suggestion of new tactics to deploy. Upon hearing Krennic's prodding his eyes bulge and he screeches out at his employer "What the HELL are we supposed to do!" He winces as soon as the words leave his mouth, and meekly mutters his apologies as he sulks off to the corner.
He grunts and squirms as he rubs his temples and tries to recall any known weakness of these constructs.

Martus Krennic sighs and shrugs out of his pack. He turns to Statueand holds out his hand. "Stay here," he says to the golem.
"You as well," he says to the Black Blades. He then walks forward about fifty feet, just out of range of the ballistae.

Krennicdarts into the darkness. The crew can hear bangs, crashes, and see flaming bolts flash briefly in the distance. And within 30 seconds, everything falls silent. Krennicwalks back to the party, picks up his pack, and orders his golem forward.
"Let's go," he says, leading the party past the destroyed ballistae at the end of the chamber.
(Post your reactions. I will post what lay beyond the ballistae in the morning.)
Kaltent arches an eyebrow as Krennic returns after wiping out the ballistae in under half a minute. He shifts his attention to Shift as his friend whispers in his ear, then nods back in response and follows.
The room beyond the ballistae are much as they remember. A stone pillar in the middle of the room has a ring of six copper spigots jutting out of it, 3 feet above the floor. Carved into the walls are twenty bas-reliefs depicting drunken dwarves in different poses. One hand of each dwarf protrudes from the wall. Three of these hands grasp copper tankards. A brass plaque bolted to the western door has the following words stamped into it in Dwarvish, which Shifttranslates for everyone: “BREWERS ONLY! Others keep out! By order of Garrux, Master of Ale and Provisions.”
"This is fine," Krennic says, dropping his pack. He orders Statueinto the corner and secures the doors.
"You've done well," he says to the Black Blades. "I need you to deliver a message to one of my contacts on the surface and bring back supplies before we go deeper. I will wait here while you accomplish these tasks. In seven days, return to me and we will delve deeper."
He hands Kaltenta small wooden box. It has no lock on it and Krennicnods when Kaltentlooks at him quizzically. Opening the small box, he finds a single a small card with a name on it (Byrat) and a location in the Waterdeep Dock Ward. There is also a single gray pebble wrapped in a scrap of cloth.
"Byratwill know what this message means. He will also pay you our agreed upon sum for your work so far," the monk says. "Any questions?"
Kaltentnods at Krennic's instructions. "We'll go directly there," he says, closing the box and putting it in his pack.. "I'd ask if you'd be okay down here alone for a week, but..." he gestures vaguely back towards the door.
"On this level, I will be fine," Krennic says with a smile. "That may not be so as we delve deeper. I thank you for your assistance and I expect to see you promptly in 7 days."
With that, the party bids their employer farewell.
Will the party check on the other point of interest on the way out or shall we end the chapter here and assume they all leave the dungeon at this point?
Kaltent is happy to simply leave at this point, and not worry about the other point of interest unless something comes up where they have to deal with it.

Bronx frowns. "We're not gonna smash 'em?"
"That's certainly always an option," Kaltent says. "Though it involves a certain degree of risk to ourselves..."
(What are the dimensions of the room they're in?)
(NM, I see it looks to be 90x10. How tall? About 10' as well?)
180x20x10
(Ahh, 10' squares, right)
Kaltent shrugs. "My illusions don't seem to be of any use here. How do you guys want to handle it?"
"Yeah, if we can work out a way to disable or destroy them, that doesn't involve being shot multiple times while doing it, I'm keen."

Oops didn't see your post.
"Do you and Zinn want to try plinking at them from max range?"
"If they cant attack back, you may be able to wear them down safely, but who knows how long that might take, if they even take damage from it."

As Krennic darts off and dispatches the magical constructs, Shift just stares after him.
As Krennic returns unphased and heads back into the brewery, Shift lean close to Kalent and whispers.
"Remind me, why did he hire us? Whenever he decides to take action it's always so very evident that he can take care of himself just fine."
Shift raises his eye browns with a knowing look, before smirking.
"But a jobs a job and the moneys nice, ah?"
Shift shrugs and winks, before following Krennic and Statue into the brewery.
