"Word travels almost as fast as this airship! I saw you in port as we returned from patrol and decided I would stop in, say hi and see what news from home you bring!" and he'll approach Captain Fletch and extend his hand in greeting "it is true however, we ship out soon, perhaps as quickly as this night even. I have a meeting after this where I shall learn more of my fate..."
”There is news. Grand news, in these dark times. So, is it really that grand?” Fletch’s smile turns sour as he continues, “We’re building a new ship. One that uses...two elemental rings. Our artificers are hard at work right now! And they said it couldn’t be done. Can you imagine flying on that?”
“I just wish, more than anything, that this War will find it’s end. Busy is good, but st what expense?” He walks to the bow of the ship and looks out over Faderock and to the landscape below. “The only time I feel free from the battle that has ravaged this world is when I’m in the clouds. Then my only problem is staring too closely to the sun.”
”That’s why he always squinting like a Molly on her rain day, Captain.” Lars says with a chuckle.

(All this analysis is almost tempting me to make Percival into a Battle Master instead of an Eldritch Knight. Almost)
Percival notices Silas backing his left foot up further than it usually is. He's going to counter when I press the attack. I suppose that I've grown too predictable. Percival changes his footwork and attacks from a different side, hoping that the switch will throw him off and truly force him on the defensive and that he didn't miscalculate and isn't about to feel the familiar sting of a training sword.
((OOG lol 😂))
Silas is pushed back with your attack, but there it is again; the left foot planted. His sword parries yours, but just enough to give you both room. You see his sword wing around in the Swan Fan maneuver. Not the best attack for the defensive footing he has set up for himself. His right arm is weighted with the swinging of his sword, just enough to keep his balance. But barely.
He swings his sword wide again, using the Swan’s Fan to push you back. But as he pulls back his blade he leaves an opening if you can see it. No words come from his mouth, the concentration on his strained face shows you how serious he takes training soldiers such as yourself. This is a true master. Maybe one of the best swords you’ve ever seen.
But even the greats make mistakes.

"Good job, Master Silas!"
The words of those that were standing around watching fade away as Silas walks up to you. "You're getting a lot better, Private Percival. I am impressed, remember this; keep your footing. You lose your balance, you lose the fight. Do you think those Thrane paladins are going to let you stand up after they rush you? No, they will run right through you, with their swords. After eating chow in the mess hall, you make your way to the Red Room, also known as the map room. This is where orders are given. The room itself is modest, benches form three (3) rows of two (2) aisles. At a large illuminated three-dimensional map is standing the LT. ((OOG This is not a hologram, just a nice terrain map with good lighting.)) Standing next to her is Major Rivers, ranking officer at Faderock under General Hessel of Aundarian Forward Command.
As you file into your seats the Major starts speaking.
"Welcome, Greywind. Aundair dares!"
His tall frame is covered by his military dress blues. Medals adorn his chest in neat rows, meticulously shined. Red hair cut short goes at odds with the long beard he wears. His tanned skin shows signs of wear and tear, battle scars from fighting on the frontlines during the Scion Sound campaigns. He's even missing a finger on his left hand, his pinky finger.
"The Queen's Army is at her beck and call. What we do for our Queen is for the betterment of all Aundair. The very soul of our country and the lost Kingdom of Galifar are at stake. On the western side of Aundair, we have seen repeated instances of Rebellion. The Ashbound have made life hell for our citizens there, who seemingly have been vilifying them and also protecting them. To top it all off, there have been raids on the Eldeen farms that supply our men and women the food they need to fight for the Queen's honor. "
"We must protect the farms from these raids, find out who is behind them, and protect the people. At all costs. I know this isn't the most glorious of assignments. You won't be fighting off Karnathi undead or protecting the realm from the threat of Thrane battle clerics. But you will be servicing your country in a much greater way, making sure that our armies can be sustained. protecting the people of Aundair, the women and children who can't fight our battles. The men and women who work in the fields. They must be protected. But if they are found supplying the enemy, then the Queen's justice will be swift."
"You will ship out of Passage on the Wrogar's Vexation, an Aundairian brigantine sailing to the port town of Cree. From there you will go to three different farming villages. Delthorn, Gregorsin, and Tall Vine. Find the bandit threat, beware of Ashbound rebels, and make sure that the shipments of supplies and food are sent to Cree to be shipped out."
"Lt. Winehand, you have control of the mission from here. I expect to have results, you're some of our best recruits we've had in some time. Aundair dares!"
He walks out of the room and leaves you alone with the LT and Sarge.
