"Shali is a warrior, and thousands of years old. She knows more about battle than any, save perhaps the gods. When I feel her during combat, we are as... one fighter? She warns me, guides me. I seek to strengthen our bond when I am awake, that we might more easily connect. I know my mother and sister, and my grandmother, and her mother, and so on, they all have or had strong bonds with Shali. The joke among my brothers is that it makes the women in our family... difficult." She smiles a little ferally.
"The Quori do not bring visions, as I have heard them described by others, they are not gods, but rather people of Dream. While I do follow the Path of Light, some Kalashtar are given to the priesthood, as my sister is. She has spoken of visions, but not from Shali, to whom she is also bonded. I think... well, do you remember Jackie Four Fingers? Yes, that lout in town who wouldn't enlist, but insisted he was every bit the fighter a soldier is? When I faced him down at the canteen that night, he said later he saw... something. He described it as fearsome. I think it was Shali, surrounding me, or behind me. I gather from others, this is a thing that happens. I see her only when I sleep. But I feel her when she is with me." Again, she shrugs.
"You will think less of me if I tell you I have never been much one to read. But I understand it can unlock great stories, and great secrets. I think we will need all the power we can gather in the time ahead, and am glad you see this path for you. I expect Kashkaval would delight in showing you his tricks, but that creature he summoned... that was something I have never seen!"
"You have spoken of your father before. What would he think of this path for you?"
Percival chuckles at the mention of Jackie Four Fingers. "Yes, I saw him after that. He was white as a ghost. The rest of us wondered what you did, since he didn't have a scratch on him. Now I understand what frightened him. You not reading does not lessen my opinion of you. You're a brave woman and you have a deep connection to something that's ancient and powerful. You have access to secrets that I could never dream of and that will be just as necessary as anything I could learn of in my books."
"My father was a man who believed that the gods gave us our gifts so that we could protect those under us. He made sure to impress that upon me as I was growing up. The gods gave me an inquisitive mind and I think that he would be proud of the fact that I'm using it to protect Aundair."

The creatures attack had caused havoc, but the ship crew were more than capable of getting everything back together. Each of the others had seemed to find a place helping the crew, and making themselves useful, since the attack. In combat too each of them seemed to work well together, help each other, even saving other deckhands and sailors as they dispatched of the fish creatures.
'What did I contribute?'Sylrie asked himself as he thought back. Just before the end of the combat there was a moment, a couple seconds that felt like hours, where he did nothing at all, just watched it unfold beneath him. No one blinked, no one noticed, no great upset occurred because he hadn't participated. But why had he not participated? He wasn't scared, it was more like being hyper aware, and in these few seconds he had watched Kash's magic with great admiration, watched as it summoned a powerful machine creature to aid the combat. Had it turned the tide, or were they always destined to overcome the creatures?
Sylrie spent the days in contemplation, going over what he had seen, 'What was that word the Kash had said to summon that hand? Did he move his hand like this?" he practiced the movement and saying the word from his hammock before bed each night. Then, each morning, he got up and followed the mages around, even if just a few steps behind. He watched them cast their wards, practiced saying the words, at one point even swiping one of the tiny bells and and a piece of fine wire and practicing the spell for himself. 'I have to get better, I have to be able to contribute next time'
He hadn't mastered the spells, no where near close to mastered, but by the eve of the fourth day after the attack he had watched, practiced, and learned a veritable toolbox of spells from those on the ship. Even modifying the one he had started with a small bit. His own Mage Hand was fast, responsive, and best of all completely invisible. Ironically Sylrie couldn't wait to show his unit what he had discovered, but at the same time was fearful it wasn't enough. He had learned in a few short days what most took years of training to uncover, and he worried it would fall short of what they needed.
OOC: During the course of the few days Sylrie would be up early in the morning, sleep probably mid day, and then spend the evenings practicing while taking on watch duties in the crows nest or whatever he could do that would be helpful while giving him the time alone to hone his nearly acquired craft.
"I am sure he is proud." She pauses, then smiles, "At least, I always chose to take my mother's silence as pride! Usually when she had just disarmed me." she quirks an odd smile at that. When Percival just looks at her, she continues, "Because my mother has just one arm. I know I have told you this before! I swear the unit has decided to straight face me every time I tell that joke."
She will chat a little longer, then make her way to her hammock to sleep.

For the most part the minotaur will stay in the galley helping Master Killingsworth where he can and attempting to befriend Arya. When not needed below deck he will find a spot along the bow where he is not in anyone's way and stare out across the lake they sail upon. He uses this time to reflect upon the past events and to try and find focus, there is an itching sensation just at the edge of his consciousness that he can't quite concentrate on. It started shortly after they finished defending the ship, but trying to grasp it is like trying to catch a ghost with one hand. Anyone watching, might see him extending one arm at a time outwards while he appears to be concentrating and occasionally he tries to make other arcane looking motions with his hands but there is no visible effects that you can see. Once he's exhausted and frustrated himself he will retire to his hammock to sleep for the night.
(any other character interactions will happen around the above but that is the general way his days go on the ship - I'd also like to think that maybe he's accidentally figured out how to cast Maximilian’s Earthen Grasp but since they are sailing across the lake - the hand has come up from the lakebed where no one but maybe some fishes actually see it.)
Finally, after many minutes in quiet conversation with herself, eyes closed, the young woman lifts her head and runs her fingers through her hair where the wind has tangled it. She stretches and shifts, noticing Percival.
"Oh, hey, Percival. Isn't this a beautiful spot? I hope I did not keep you from enjoying the night coming on. I've found it is out of the crew's way, but one can still enjoy the wind and the waves." She seems quiet, calm, stretchy. She pulls her boots back on.

Isuzu will continue to keep herself as busy as possible during this period helping out around the ship preferably performing duties or odd jobs that allow her to keep a low profile, work alone or off to herself and away from others where possible, at least away from larger groups of people so would wish to avoid assignments in areas of the ship where people tend to congregate and socialize like the kitchen/mess.
So Isuzu will look to volunteer for the dirty/messy unpopular jobs on the ship that most are usually reluctant to perform. Duties which are usually assigned as a form of punishment should do the trick!
Isuzu:
The days go by and the excitement of the battle fades. After the first day, most of the sailors will have quit thanking you for trying to save one of their own. Days go by, Isuzu lending a hand where none is needed, but still well respected. On the second day after the battle, a mage, by the name of Jakcoo is helping you empty the latrines. He will speak on end about how the wards going down were not his fault and if someone would just listen to him without telling him he was wrong he was sure they would see the light.
"You're a quiet one, aren't ya? That's okay, I don't mind the silence," he says as he talks ad nauseam about everything and nothing. "Maybe you're just humble, that's okay too. I can't believe a grunt would put their neck on the line for a sailor. That takes moxy, or is it poxy? I really don't know, maybe I should know, though..." His thoughts trail off in his words as he lifts the slop bucket and tosses it behind the ship. "We've been doing this for two days and you've barely said a word. Is silence a part of your aura? I like mysteries but I also like talking to people I work with. So, what's your story?"

Kora will volunteer her strength for any tasks that need it, but does not want to get in the way of a well-oiled crew. She will spend some time checking on the horses, after the fight and the rocking of the ship, she was fearful for their safety. She will have asked Johnathon for his help.
As the trip progresses:
As the days stretch on, she will fall into a routine of exercise and discipline, rising early, training with Master Rigaby and his soldiers, eating with the unit and/or the sailors, and spending early evenings in meditation on the foredeck, where she can feel the wind, turning in early for bed. In her training with Master Rigaby, she is practicing calling on Shali to infuse her fighting spirit for more effective sword work. She would not do that in drills or with other sparring partners.
She will be easy to make friends with, she'll dice and jest with the crew, compete if there are competitions (arm wrestling!), but be careful to praise the sailors and the Vexation. She is well aware of that while they are all soldiers of Aundair, the different forces have their own loyalties, too. The unit, and the horses, are guests on the ship.
During her evening meditations, she will paint her face with oils, let her hair loose, and sit quietly with her eyes closed. Anyone who watches or comes close, will see her lips moving, and might catch a flicker of something large and ghostly sharing space with her. She is not upset if interrupted, and when she is done, she will clean her face and often retire to her hammock, hair still unbound.

((OOG Dear God no Dex saves, please...lol :P You two seem to have the same progression for your days, horses and training, so I will combine this for simplicity sake if that's okay. If not, feel free to break off. ))
The battle was hard fought, it had its ups (and over the railings) and downs (into the water or on the deck of the ship), but through it all, both of you survived. Either due to fast reflexes or even faster thinking.
After getting your briefing from LT and getting healed up, both of you make your way down to the third deck to check on your horses. As you come down the stairs you see that there is a mess on the second deck, plates, storage, cannonballs...there is stuff everywhere. The sailors down here are hard at work police calling their area, and nod their heads as you pass them by. Walking to the stairs that lead down to the lower hold you can hear the animals down there. Stomping and neighing loudly.
As you make your way back to the stabling area, Kora you hear Mustard before you see him. Midnight John though is standing tall trying to nuzzle Mustard through the wooden gate that separates them. Isuzu's mount is also calm, quiet, and at the back of her stall. Sulking even, trying to stay away from the group.
On the other side of the stabling area, you see Aurala's Pride, Sylrie's beautiful mount bucking up and down. Carrhae is skittish around Aurala's Pride, back as far away as it can get from Sylrie's mount. Finally, Kash's mount Maple Stirrup is eating. Face deep into its feed bucket. Chewing blissfully on the food inside.

Give me a Medicine check on each horse. ((OOG Five (5) will be needed, Midnight John is fine. ))
