Game: The dockworker you persuade into talking to you doesn't know who your talking about when you say the name Floon, but when you describe what he looks like and also provide a description of Volo, the man nods slowly.
"Yeah... I remember him. Was in here night before last but haven't seen him since. After the guy he came with left, he drank by himself for a bit, but then this man came in. Fancy clothes, red hair, sounded upperclass. Two of them knew each other I guess. Drank a bit, played some three dragon ante, then left together."
Talking to the kid sweeping the back step gets you some more information.
"Yeah I remember the two red haired guys." She'll lean in conspiratorially, "Five guys got up an followed them out. Tough guys. They work at the warehouse with the snake on Candle Lane. That bunch hasn't come back either."
With the information he gathered, Game would return to Gaz in the tavern and sit next to the goblin and nod his head slightly. Before boredly beginning to strum at his lute. "Oh, Vol is okay vith me doing zis forrr now. Ee surrre he vill send Eskandorrr if ee needed."
"I guess now we just wait, see and relax. Chill for a minute, we know what to do." With that Gaz relaxes, kicks back, orders a drink and prepares to wait for the other 3.

As requested by Ira, Standobras will take the lead, realizing that he’s pushing his sister a little further than he thought he would be. Once at the watch post at the corner of Sail and Fish streets he will proceed as follows;
If there are watchmen controlling entry into the watch post, he will openly display his holy symbol of Angharradh, reveal the fact that he’s a holy follower of her teachings and request to speak with the ‘’duty officer’’ (or whatever the actual correct title would be. If that doesn’t do it, he’ll attempt to use his signet ring – which has the family crest indicating he’s a noble – and try to gain entry that way. If all this fails, he will look disappointed, thank them for their time, and then head for the Skewered Dragon.
If he’s simply allowed in, he’ll use the same procedure above to try to get the following information from the ‘’duty officer’’;
Has anyone matching Floon Blagmaar’s description has been seen or – Angharradh forbid – recovered in the last few days;
Are there any places, whether it be streets, alleys or buildings that they should avoid at all cost (in other words, places even the watch avoids)?
He will explain the details regarding Floon’s disappearance (leaving out the name of his friend – Volothamp Geddarm) and ask if there’s anybody (i.e. watch contacts, reliable citizens, etc…) in the vicinity of the Skewered Dragon that may be able to lend assistance on this search.
If successful with this, he will make sure to thank the ‘’duty officer’’ by shaking his hand (with a flavour of from one serving person to another) and address him/her by name, telling him/her that he’ll remember them for the assistance they provided to them (the party). All the while he will or course be sporting his best smile.
Here are some Persuasion rolls just in case: 16 : 24 : 9
Notes
He’s more than happy to explain the reason behind Aegis’, Ira’s and his appearance.
He is being honest with all of the above.
If asked about the identity of the concerned friend (i.e. Volo), he will decline at first, asking for the person’s wishes for secrecy to be respected. If pressed, he will give away the name but he will visibly disapprove of whoever is asking.
Standobras enters the watch post (no one stops you from going in). You talk to the Sargent on duty, and your friendly respectable manner persuades him to answer your questions.
"I haven't seen anyone by that description during my shifts. Let me check my records..." He'll pull out a ledger and look over a few pages, "No, we haven't had any dead come through here that match that description. As for places to avoid, we maintain order up here, but frankly we don't have the man power to deal with all the... gods know what that's down in the sewers. I wouldn't advise anyone to go down there unless they're looking for trouble."
When you ask about aid, he frowns a bit regretfully. "Ordinarily I would see if a patrol could keep an eye out. But with the- all the mess going on I'm sad to say I've got no one available. I've got another wagon as we speak that's going out to collect more gang members who need processing. If you do go out looking for this man, be careful. So far no bystanders have been hurt, but I worry it's only a matter of time."
Satisfied with the answers and sincerely thankful for the Sergeant’s willingness to help, Standobras will thank him as previously described and then turn around. Looking at Ira and Aegis he’ll say; very well you two, to the Skewered Dragon we go. Focusing on Ira he’ll add; Ira, please don’t stand up so straight, nobody has that posture in the Dock Ward, at least none that live here. You should either slouch over as if every day is a struggle or, if you prefer, you can keep your current posture but you need to look perpetually angry at life in general. And, with that, the three stooges will head for the Skewered Dragon unless Ira or Aegis want to do something else at the watch post or on the way to the tavern.
Unless there is anything Ira wants to do, the three of you continue toward the Skewered Dragon. On your way there, you pass a curious sight. A building with a bright purple facade and a sign over the door that says, "Old Xoblob Shop." Even though it's past dark, the lights are still on inside, indicating that it's still open.
The Skewered Dragon is just down the street- and you see the same thing the others saw. A rundown building with broken windows and... for some reason a ship's anchor lodged in the roof.

Standobras will usher Aegis and Ira AWAY from Gaz and Game, heading towards an empty table. Once there he'll order drinks for the three of them and start small talk while taking in the atmosphere of the taproom Perception check 9. After a while, he'll try to engage the occupants of nearby tables in idle conversation. His aim will be to validate whatever the others are saying in order to keep them talking. He might even make a small bet about something innocuous but that will result in him losing so that he has to buy a round for their table. The ultimate intent is to earn their trust (or at the very least have them drop their guard a little) and then start asking questions about Floon. All the while he'll keep a close eye on happenings in the tavern.
Perception checks 17 : 5 : 6 and Persuasion checks: 16 : 7 : Unable to parse dice roll..
Ira doesn't spot anything dangerous and no one seems to be following. Despite her fear, she starts exuding a pretty convincing air of hostility and once you enter the bar the patrons give both you and Aegis a wide berth.
Standobras learns some of the same things that Game did:
Floon and Volo were there drinking and a little before midnight Volo left.
Floon drank by himself for a bit until another man came in who he seemed to be friends with.
This new person was also a male human with red hair, who spoke and dressed like he was upperclass.
The two left the bar together about an hour after midnight after some more drinks and a few card games.
But talking to the crusty old bartender who you manage to charm; you learn something extra. "I don't know this Floon guy, but I did recognize the other one. Was one of Lord Neverember's brats." She will turn and spit disdainfully. "Chip off the old block as far as I'm concerned. Coming down here to lord all his money over us- no offense to you. You're alright."
Everyone knows about Dagult Neverember. He was the former Open Lord of Waterdeep before he was ousted by the Masked Lords a few years ago and replaced with Laeral Silverhand. At the time, he ruled both Waterdeep and Neverwinter and it is said the Masked Lords wanted someone who was entirely devoted to Waterdeep in charge. He is still the current Lord Protector of the city of Neverwinter to the North.
Standobras will thank the bartender (he's being genuine), sliding towards her a suitable amount of coin (note to Jackie: Standobras will slide her a decent amount but not so much that she'll lose her shit, also not so little that she'll be offended so please let me know how much that costs so that I can record it). He'll then rejoin Ira and Aegis and will do his utmost best to engage these two in small talk, trying to ease their discomfort. He'll take his time doing so (perhaps an hour or two) before looking at the two of them and say; Well, I hate to be the one to break the fun but we really should be going. He'll get up, hoping that Ira and Aegis follow his lead. If they do, he'll head outside and turn left outside the door, making sure that Gaz and Game will be in a position do see them heading that way. They will proceed at a slow pace, in fact he'll probably pretend to be helping Ira ''stay upright'' as if she was inebriated. The purpose of this is so that Gaz and Game can easily catch up to them.
When Standobras makes his move towards Ira, she'll ever so gently shake her head with pleading eyes. She tries to whisper to him: "Please, not like this." [Standobras, in the time you've known Ira, you would know, she really hates to be touched unless there is an absolute necessity, like say when someone needs to make her look like a Poet down on her luck.] Furthermore she'll take another glance around the room to see if anyone is giving her a little more attention than is comfortable. [[ 16 Perception to see it, 5 Insight to check the nature of that attention. ]]
Ira: You look around the tavern and don't see anyone paying any particular attention to you. One of the female dockworkers looks you up and down and raises an eyebrow in interest... but when she sees how uncomfortable you look will shrug and turn back to her drink. It seems most of the people in here have had a long day of physical labor and just want to keep to themselves.
A minute after the three leave, Gaz will stand up casually and leave without getting much attention on himself 18 (to casual out of the place with stealth, just in case?)
After they’ve exchanged information, Standobras will propose that they head towards the warehouse on Candle Lane. He’ll suggest that, in order not to appear too suspicious (i.e. avoid looking like gangstas), they should keep to the two groups they have with one following the other at least one block behind. On the way, the group of 3 should exchange in small talk suitable to their surroundings while the group of two (the sneaky ones) come up with how they want to ‘’act’’ on the way there. Once at the warehouse, the rear group will rejoin the first group. As for what happens at that point…we’ll have to see what the layout looks like before we come up with courses of action but, if possible, it will likely begin with a perimeter walk where one group goes one way and the other group goes the other way with the intent of meeting on the other side of the warehouse.
The streets are mostly empty this time of night. You see the occasional group of people, either on their way to or going home from a tavern. No one pays you all much mind. Most of the people in this neighborhood are dockworkers and fishermen who will be up with the dawn for a hard days work and have already turned in for the night.
The buildings on either side of Candle Lane are so tall and packed together they almost totally block out the sky overhead. Nearly all the streetlamps have been smashed, leaving the narrow street in darkness. Most of you are untroubled by the lack of light, but Aegis is having trouble seeing in the darkness. The only light is a faint flickering from down the lane, like a distant candle.
The flickering comes from the one streetlamp that is still intact. The flame inside is hovering in thin air and burning without a wick. Most of you would recognize it as a continual flame spell, though they are usually only used for illumination in the wealthier parts of the city.
A warehouse is directly across the street from the lamp. The light coming from it illuminates a black winged snake painted above the door's handle.
(As players, you probably all know this is the Zhentarim symbol, but your character needs to make a DC 10 INT check to recognize the symbol. Your characters would know the Zhentarim are suppliers of mercenaries, weapons, and armor. Historically, they have a pretty shady reputation.)
The building is a ramshackle two story warehouse at the back of an outer yard behind a high fence. The gate on the fence does not appear locked. From the front, you can see three points of entry- the front door marked with the snake, a large warehouse loading door, and a ground floor window. The glass on the window has been painted over, making it impossible to see inside.
Scouting around the building there are no other ground level entrances, but on the North side of the building there are two second story windows. (The building faces West.)
