“What are you doing? Get out of my way! Rycider has made it clear it’s everyone for themselves. This isn’t the prison... the tower is.” We will cast blur on himself, while sending Petunia to scurry around the feet of Tanakir (hopefully giving himself advantage and Tanakir disadvantage for any sort of grapple through spell and “help” action from his familiar)
I nevah! ..Well yes I did. But ah was talking about my little self. You boys need to work together if we're ta leave this place. Do we need to take out these beasties to release tha staffs? She directs this question to the team as well as the Charred Beholder. She gingerly slides her dagger over the throat of one of the scaly one eye summoners, poised and waiting.
Nodding to Fumbles Karst strides forward towards the cage, taking a moment to stow his shield whilst stil holding his battle axe he grabs one of the Staffs and attempts to pull it clear.
"Fair point gnome, I'll trust you in this, let's just hope we aren't being played."

Tanakir snarls and glares around the room as everyone moves to try and release the beholder. "Beast! I have one last question for you. Where do I go to stop this before it's too late?"
Wes, Karst, Aradurk, and Fumbles manage to tear away the staffs that hold the cage together, and the gnome holds his bag of holding open to collect them. As the last staff is removed, the structure of the cage simply falls away, as does the metal plate covering the central eye of the broken beholder. A wave of antimagic washes over the party as the beholder's gaze takes in its surroundings. "I am finally free," it says, floating high above and out of the vault room.
The five still figures break from their trance, turning their own singular eyes to the party to strike.
OOC: Before combat begins, giving Rycider a chance to make an attack at one of the creatures as a readied action from the previous round.

Rycider connects her dagger with the scaled hide off of the creature's neck, but the blade does not sink through it, and it pulls its head away unharmed.
All five of the creatures tilt their heads curiously toward the party and charge, raising long-clawed hands high in the air.
OOC: Players win initiative! As a reminder, when it is the players' turn, any character can act in any order, no need to wait on a specific turn order to post. I will resolve posts in order.
Wes looks to find any sort of cover, even if it is behind a teammate. Looking for a line of sight that doesn’t pass through the beholders anti magic field.

Rycider and Tanakir are forced back by their target's speed, unable to land a strike. Claws rake across Rycider's arm as she pulls it back, dealing 7 slashing damage. Tanakir's target misses its first strike badly enough for it to lose its balance, and its follow up only grazes the genasi, dealing 4 slashing damage.
Aradurk has better luck, slashing across a nothic's arm as it reaches for him with its claws, severing its arm.
Wes allows the beholder to pass overhead, into the next room, and feeling his magical energy once more, unleashes a blast of pent up fire that screams past Aradurk, slamming into the nothic's head and turning it into a charred mess. Catching the gaze of another nothic, the gnome feels an unsettling wave of energy roll off of him to no effect.
Karst pulls his first cut to parry an incoming claw, then turns his axe toward the nothic's midsection. Channeling radiant energy into the blow, his axe sears through thick nothic flesh, and it hisses while its blood begins to spill onto the ground, following through with its attacks and raking at the paladin's armor, dealing 5 and 6 slashing damage.
