"Kids!" Phaedra beams. "You came to visit after all... I am impressed that Lif here did not send you running for the hills! Have you had breakfast?"
Lif looks over to Phaedra and feigns offense, then winks. The two boys hear breakfast and head over toward Phae, the girl quickly notices and follows. Jenks answers, "No, we haven't eaten yet. We were hoping we could do those chores some of you mentioned so that we could buy some food."
He just looks at the kids running around and gives a faint smile "After you all eat, how would you like to earn some coin? We have some chores that need done around here." he says holding up six silver pieces.
Squiddly looks over to Silver, "Can we do the chores first. We don't have money to eat yet."
Vassa looks over to the group, "Glad to see you all do know these kids. They didn't seem to know anyone's name but they gave some... creative descriptions of you so I figured they were in the right place." Looking back at the kids he continues, "Come on over to the bar here and have a seat. I've got some breakfast cooking, should be enough for everyone..." He quickly looks around as if looking for someone. Sees that Bason and Jorn have gone back into the kitchen and turns and mock whispers, "as long as you get your plates before Jorn does."
From the kitchen you all hear an "I heard that!" followed by some muttering about people singing all day and not working.
Vassa grins and heads toward the kitchen but stops at the door and looks back, "And we really need to discuss when opening night is going to be folks. We've sank a lot of coin into getting this place ready. It's time to start making some of that back." And with that he vanishes into the kitchen. Moments later Bason comes out carrying a box full of various liquors and sets it on the bar and starts unpacking. "Don't mind him. Vassa is just in a hurry to have his own stage to perform on. Though it would be nice to have something more than coppers to my name again."
Selinae suddenly started awake from where she was against the wall from last night, she smiled at the kids.....wiped drool off her chin and went to find coffee, feeling much better....though her cuts were still tender.
Silver just nods as he sips on his rose wine "Why don't we soft open next week, get some buzz going, and then hard open two weeks from that? or we can just go hard and open next week and adjust on the fly." he just looks around "If we need some waitresses I might know where to get some from."
Bason seems crestfallen by Kestrell's brush off. He takes a deep breath and looks to the group. "Tomorrow be the holy day Starfall. Tis a celebration of new and lucky beginnings and, for tha superstitious, it's a great day ta start somethin' new... like a new business. Now i ken see that be too soon and we are nae ready. But it just seems like it's nae important ta anyone but Vassa and me that we get this place open." I get that ye had ta find tha people behind tha explosion right outside our doors. But that's been done and ye still be out gallivantin' around. Do ye realize ye've spent more gold fixin' this place up and gettin it ready than what I and most others in this city earn in three years? Because ye act like it ain't important to ye. I get that most of ye be members of secret organizations and lookin' ta change tha world but i dinna know if ye get how important this place be as well. At least to some of us." Finished with his speech, Bason grabs a bottle from the box he was unpacking, pulls the cork, pours a shot and hands it to Silver with a head nod of thanks, then takes a long swig straight from the bottle as he walks to the stairs heading into the basement.
Vassa comes back into the room carrying a servers tray. On it are bowls of eggs, plates full of various meats, and biscuits piled high. He lays it all on the counter and then sets a stack of clean plates and silverware next to it. Looking to the kids he says, "I cooked it but you gotta fix your own plates." Looking to the adults in the room he just shrugs and says "Bason is struggling with some things." Smiling he continues, "I am interested in hearing how you all ended up in the sewer again?"
Kestrell sighs and heads back to the bar. He puts his pack on a table and takes out his rapier and daggers and a whetstone and begins cleaning them up.
"Well, it's probably not good to have sewer water on our equipment anyway. Time for some cleaning and polishing."
"Yes lets get this place open and make sure it is running well with the right staff. I will bless the establishment in the name of Mystra but as it is not really an establishment suited to magic and the preservation of knowledge, I will also ask fellow priestess' form the temples of Waukeen, Tymora and Lliira to bless it as well.
I will also talk to the Harpers to enlist there aid in tracking down our quarry... ohh I think some of Kestrell's hunting terms are rubbing off on me"
"Very well. I'll procure some supplies for the opening."
"Bason, don't get your dwarven knickers in a bunch. How much gold have we spent fixing this place up?"
"Vassa, we ended up in the sewers again looking for this fellow called Fin Castlestormer because he has the stone we are looking for. We got into some nasty stuff."
Kestrell looks around at Elon and Sliver: "Hey, by the way, did we split up that coinage we found in the sewers?"
OOC:
Over the next several hours Kestrell goes through his weapons, oiling and sharpening his knifes, rapier, and making sure his bow and string are taken for. Then he sets out shopping.
First he will buy another 20 arrows to top off his quiver. Then he will shop for magic studded leather armor to see what his options are.
Then he'll shop for the opening. He spends some time sampling ice cream from at least three different creameries to find the best one, and orders several dozen gallons of it delivered to the manor.
Over the next day or two, he will investigate to see what he can find out about: - The Bregan D'aerthe and Jarlaxel. Is what Jarlaxel told them true? - Fenerus Stormcastle. Why did Lady Greyhound give it to him? Confirm that the Xanathar Guild kidnapped him. - Why does the Xanathar Guild want the stone.
Are we looking for two things? The stone and the missing gold for Waterdeep?
" What can I help with, Bason?", Selinae said guiltily.
Bason is heading down the stairs into the basement when Selinae offers her help. He motions for her to follow and leads her to a stack of wooden boxes with jugs of, presumably, ale. "Aye lass, these here be me best batch of crimson ale so far. If ye ken carry a few boxes of it up ta tha bar, I'd be appreciatin' it."
"Bason, don't get your dwarven knickers in a bunch. How much gold have we spent fixing this place up?"
When Bason doesn't answer Vassa looks up, "At last check, over 1,400 gold has been spent. But a fair bit of that was paid by Ranaer in exchange for us holding a table for him and his friends."
"Vassa, we ended up in the sewers again looking for this fellow called Fin Castlestormer because he has the stone we are looking for. We got into some nasty stuff."
"Fin Castlestormer eh? Never heard of him but I'll keep an ear out for him."

Kes: give me a Persuasion or Intimidation role for haggling on the price of armor and Investigation, Perception, Survival, and either Persuasion or Intimidation for your investigation into the three items you listed. As for your ice cream...
Your ice cream sampling goes amazingly well. All the ice cream you tast is top tier. But when you attempt to order such a large quantity you're told that they sell only direct to consumers per guild law. After speaking with the manager and eventually to the owner you're pointed to the headquarters of the "Splendidly Magnificent Order of Confectioners and Sweetmakers". You're told it's on The Street of Silver, next to where White's Famous Footwear used to be. The owner also tells you that if you make a deal with the guild to buy the ice cream you'll also need to hire a wizard to build a freeze box for you to store it in or it'll all melt.
Selinae knows little about running a business or information gathering but she heads to the docks and does her best to ask about the gold, the stone the man they're after........and of course to promote Trollskull as a Sailor-Friendly tavern.
Ice Cream: At the place he likes the best, while tasting: "Wow, hmm. I'm not sure about this one, I better try another sample to really see if I like it." Deception: 10.
"Yep, that is pretty good."
When he talks to the owner:
"Interesting. And do you know where White's new location is?"
"Regarding the magical ice box, I think you are underestimating my ability to ensure the ice cream is gone before it melts. But, to appease your concerns, I'll look into this magic cold box. Do you have any wizards you recommend for this type of thing?"
Silver will spend the next two days with the following:
Day 1: Working to get bar maids for the bar and getting the word out about their opening
Day 2: Working to find out information about why Xanathar wants the stone and any potential news about a slaughter of Xanathar guild members in the sewer
Kestrell stumbles downstairs, nursing a slight headache from all of Silver's whiskey.
He groans at the kids: "What are you kids doing here? Where did you come from?"

Kestrell gets up, wipes mouth, dons his pack and checks his weapons before going over to stand by the door.
