Are we ever sure that we exist? Do we have feelings? Or are we just NPC's designed to think highly? If so what is our purpose? Why are we here? Who are the players? Or are there Players?
Asariel's magical effects freeze the beings in their tracks for just a moment. After a moment, one of the kenku look at you all and in a high pitch voice says "You are" then in the gruff voice of a dwarf "blocking path". And other kenku picks up the sentence in a chirpy voice "move we leave". As they finish speaking you realize that you are standing in front of the door and near the loading bay door. It's obvious the creatures don't want to walk past you to exit the building.
As Kestrell and Asariel move away from the door the four kenku cautiously walk out toward the large loading bay door. When they hear Kestrell's question, one responds in a deep voice with an orcish accent: “Xanathar sends its regards.” Another says in a thin, nasally voice: “Tie up the pretty boy in the back room!” and “Follow the yellow signs in the sewers.” Then the fist one says “No time to loot the place. Just get him to the boss.” in a scratchy voice.
After they answer they start unlocking the large door.
Kestrell, I'd say speaking with them would be a bonus action. So you have some of your movement left and an action. If you wish to take it, do so soon. Enemies used most of their movement just to reach the door and they're using their action to help each other unlock and open the, comparatively, large door. On their next turn they will flee. Aenio, you're up.
Kestrell watches them go, bow pointed at the floor about halfway between the kenku and him. After they answer, he looks at Vassa and raises one eyebrow.

[OOG] I thought about letting this one go (sorry for OOG stuff in thread DM), but it probably warrants a response
He does have class (allowing for the subjectivity of people's interpretations of the term, of course), but the bard is neither prudish or hung up on overtly moralistic stances of what is or isn't proper... especially from those he has little or no respect for. He see's nothing creepy or demeaning in appreciating beauty in all its forms, though his somewhat short attention span and hyper-create flair mean that he's given to flights of fancy and fantasy both.
In short, he wouldn't care that Aenio thinks that... so long as the Wizard's made a perception or insight check to even notice his wandering gaze. Unless of course it's not Aenio speaking... in which case he still wouldn't care in the slightest. :D

'Vassa sees Kestrell's nod, but somewhat distracted by strange conflicting thoughts, merely nods in affirmative and mouths the words 'let them go', hoping that the ranger recognises his intention to let the creatures leave.'
[OOC] Not... my... turn... yet. Unless we're out of combat/initiative order, etc.? *Clasps a hand over his own mouth, holding the words in...*
*Edit - DM question - I can't see any other doors on the battle map. Can Vassa see any other door in this room?

[OOC] Still in a loose combat/initiative order until the enemies next turn. Vassa and everyone else can see a staircase at the north end of the room and what appears to be a door leading to one of those under the stairs closets. Additionally, you can all see that there's part of the room currently unseen due to it being around the corner.
Aenio raises his staff before casting light on one of the kenkus faces trying to blind them
(yes, I pulled this in the first fight. But interrogation might lead to some discovery’s)

Just as the door opens Aenio's spell lands on the closest Kenku. The creature let out a blood curling scream as he grabbed his eyes and fell to the ground. The other Kenku bolted out the door and were gone from sight in seconds. Aenio realizes that the Kenku could only scream like that if it had heard someone else make that scream.
"Get that thing out of here!" Kestrell shouts to Aenio. Not waiting for a response, Kestrell walks over to the far right wall and begins walking up it to see what is around the corner and up the stairs.
“Not yet, we need one to interrogate *cough*or eat*cough*”
Aenio then asked the group “Is anyone a good interrogater?”

'Looking around at the carnage and recalling the bird-creature's talk of 'the pretty one', Vassa is worried that they've delayed too long already and stealthfully moves to back Locky and Kestrell up further into the warehouse. The half-drow will pause only long enough to toss a pair of manacles near where the stricken creature fell blind and say,'
"Here, you can bind it with these and we can interrogate it later, but we dare not tarry any longer. The pretty one needs us, if he's not to wind up in the clutches of whoever these creatures call master!"
[OOC] perception check 16 and stealth check 14 for looking around further into the warehouse.

Kestrell rounds the corner and heads for the foot of the stairs. He is not going to go up the stairs, but wants to see what is around the corner.
'Seeing Kestrell move to the base of the stairs and recalling mention of a 'back room', Vassa moves to the door below the stairwell, listening for any sounds and studying the door to see if it's locked or trapped.'
[OOC] [Tooltip Not Found] check 14 on the door. Investigate check that is. Vassa would be standing on the square diagonally left of the door.

As Kestrell walks up to the foot of the stairs he hears a noise from behind some creates to the north. Slowly making his way near the crates, Kestrell peers over them and sees a wounded Kenku, leaning against a crate straining to breathe. Interestingly enough, this one was not wearing a matching cloak as all the others had been. The Kenku notices and looks up with sadness in his eyes.
