Silver takes the sword walking to rejoin the party having missed the comment "Interesting that someone would just leave perfectly good swords around."

DM Rolls:

Attempt at botting Phaedra: The cleric walks up the stairs behind Kestrell and Selinae and smirks at Sel's comment on Kestrell's age but remains reserved. One would guess that the lack of being able to use magic is likely bothering her, but her expression just shows determination as she holds her mace and shield.

 OOC: Silver, are you holding the sword you picked up or did you slide in into a belt or back or something?

As you all walk up the stairs you notice several arrow slits in the walls, and pigeons nest in the rafters above you. As you eyes break the plane of the floor you see three figures moving about. They all appear to be Drow wearing studded leather armor and carrying Lantanese pistols as well as swords and shields.

Kestrell arrives in time to see one of the Drow pull something from the cauldron hanging on a hook in the fireplace. You all hear, "I found the stone, let us leave while we can." Another voice replies, "You two go ahead. I have a score to settle with this group. Two of the Drow head for an arrow slit and start to squeeze through while one pulls his pistol and sets himself before the head of the stairs, blocking your path. "I had hoped the bard would be with you for I owe him most of all. I suppose I shall have to pay him a personal visit later on. Any final words you'd like me to pass along to him?"

As you all form up at the top of the stairs, you all recognize this Drow as the one that was killing half elves some nights back. Glancing around you see that this room appears to have formerly been a wizard’s laboratory and contains the following features:

• A soot-stained fireplace has a lidless iron cauldron hanging on an iron hook in its hearth and a wizard’s portrait on the wall above the mantelpiece.
• The floor is littered with shards of broken glass, burned scraps of paper, twisted pieces of metal, and bird droppings.
• Other furnishings include a rocking chair, a trellis table, and the charred remains of a bookshelf, all shrouded in thick cobwebs.
• Arrow slits line the walls, and pigeons nest in the rafters. Each arrow slit is 4 feet tall and 1 foot wide — big enough for a Small character or a slim Medium character to squeeze through.

As soon as he has line of sight, Elon fires off his crossbow then tries to make his way to the mysterious bottle of potion.

Kestrell uses a bonus action to cast Hail of Thorns on the middle Drow, then follows this up with a shot at the middle Drow:

If the first shot lands, a rain of thorns sprouts from the arrow, and the middle drow and each creature within 5 feet of it must make a DC13 Dex save or take 1 piercing damage (half on a successful save).

Selinae moved around the closest drow as he was pumelled by Kestrells attacks, stabbed him as she passed and stepped in next to the drow at the window ( SW of Silver Hair) slamming into them with her dagger.

No AoO due to Fancy Footwork.

Phaedra will strike with her mace at the closest enemy, making sure she can not be flanked by keeping herself up against a wall.

Silver notices the two trying to escape and rushes towards the nearest arrow slit trying to dive out and then maneuver around to the arrow slit they would be coming out of.

Movement: 30 ft to the opening to the left of where the two exited from

Dash action to move around and cut them off as they come out of the arrow slit

If necessary, using a cunning action to dash and make up the rest of the distance.

When they arrive in the room at the top of the stairs, and Kestrell sees the Drow pull something from the cauldron, he shouts "Drop it!" and then replies to the Drow "It's you!  No, you won't be passing along any messages."

While Kestrell is saying this Elon slides to the side to fire his crossbow, but misses his target. Elon then hurries to the side of the room and picks up a potion bottle.

Kestrell casts Hail of Thorns on the middle Drow, then follows this up with a shot at the middle Drow, hitting him but unfortunately misses his follow up on the lead drow.

Selinae moved around the closest drow, attempts to stab him as she passes but misses. Selinae then steps in next to the drow at the window slamming into them with her dagger.

Phaedra slides beside the lead drow, keeping her back to the wall and swings her mace. Soluun sees the blow coming and simply leans back out of the way, letting it pass by.

The lead drow aims his pistol at Kestrell and pulls the trigger but nothing happens. He looks confused for only a moment before he holsters the weapon and lifts his shield while mutters and "damn antimagic fields".

Silver rushes to the arrow slit to the side of where the drow are attempting to escape and lunges out. He falls about twenty feet before landing on the roof of the entrance, performing a forward roll as he lands, coming up just in time to see the two drow landing near him. (No AoO on the two drow as they disengaged) As you move toward them, the drow hop down and run toward the next building over. As Silver gives chase he sees them start to float up to the roof of the next building. Silver e feels that same chill feeling he felt earlier and assumes he's has left the antimagic field. He's then distracted as the sword that he had picked up inside the tower floats up and starts to attack him.

 OOC: Elon, an unknown potion was added to your inventory.

Tempted though he may be to stay and help Selinae through the arrow slit, Kestrell slings his bow, and runs for the arrow slit that the two drow went out, shouting "Stay and take care of Vassa's friend!" to Phaedra and Selinae, and elbowing the drow in his side as he runs by (taking an AoO if the drow chooses).

Kestrell dives out the window, hoping to make up time.  Acrobatics if needed: 5.  Then he'll Dash after the two Drow.

Selinae turned back towards the murderer, " Ready for a rematch, Arsehole?"

She leapt to attack....

Phaedra yells out, "We need to stop those other two with the stone..."

As she does so she swings at Soluun with her mace.

Elon sees Silver go through the arrow slits and hurries to follow with crossbow ready. "We are on it! You take care of him!" He yells out to Phaedra.

Silver sighs as he just rolls out of the way of the sword "Knew it was to good to be true." he says as he begins to give case of the two.

Kestrell dives out of the arrow slit but his quiver of arrows catches. Instead of a graceful dive there's a lot of flailing of the arms with a tumble on the lower roof and then a falling to the ground. Unfazed Kestrell still manages to roll to his feet as sees Elon laying on the ground next to him haven fallen as well. They both rush in Silver's direction and see see the rogue dodge a floating sword as he climbs up a wall.

//OOC// Assuming Silver wants to climb to the roof to follow the Drow. Acrobatics check: 14

Flying Sword: Attack: 6 Damage: 8

Silver quickly scampers up the side of the building with the floating sword right behind him. He quickly spots the Drow about 40 feet ahead and still running. He gives chase but then realizes the blasted sword is still trying to attack him but he manages to dodge it.

Selinae and Phaedra launch attacks at Soluun who easily parries their attacks and counters striking them both. The drow sneers at them, "Pathetic. I could have killed your whole party. The two of you will be no problem."

• Some of the dice rolls changed as I was editing. The flying sword missed Silver. Both of Soluun's attacks hit. He critted against Sel for 10 and hit Phae for 6. I've already updated the character sheets.
• 2 drow are still running along the roof tops and are currently 40 feet away from Silver, who is being attacked by a flying sword
• Kestrell and Elon are standing next to the building Silver climbed. They are outside of the antimagic field.
• Phae and Sel are in the tower with Soluun.
• No maps for the roof top chase. Pick your favorite roof top chase scene from a movie and substitute two dashing drows as the villains. (My recommendation https://youtu.be/u31OjOPF-ZI?t=155)

 Kestrell shakes his head and then takes off after the Drow, Dashing a second time.

Elon looks up and sees Silver climbing the building, he looks for another way to cut them off. As he begins to feel his power return, he mindlessly drinks the potion he found.

Silver just continues his chase sprinting as hard as possible to catch up.

"We need to leave this fool Sel and get the stone. Otherwise it's all for nothing. He's just a distraction. Run with me."

Holding her shield up high, Phaedra backs away from the drow and spins in a flurry of silver and blues as she runs down the stairs towards the door.

OCC: Disengage and then full movement down the stairs and towards the door out onto the street.

DM Rolls:

Elon looks up and sees Silver climbing the building, he looks for another way to cut them off. As he begins to feel his power return, he mindlessly drinks the potion he found. He feels lighter on his feet as he runs down the street next to the buildings Silver and the Drow are on top of. Kestrell runs with Elon down the street.

Silver just continues his chase sprinting as hard as possible to catch up. The flying sword takes another swing at Silver and hits for 6 hp dmg, and then attempts to keep up but is left behind. Silver closes the gap between himself and the drow. Seeing this, one of the drow yells to the other in undercommon "Keep going, I'll slow them down!" and then he turns, pistol out, and fires at Silver but misses entirely. Silver ignores him and runs right past him. As he does so, the Drow attempts to shove Silver with his shield but Silver nimbly spins out of the way and continues his pursuit.

"I thought you'd hit harder honestly....been skimping on upper body work? Too busy murdering folks?" Selinae says as she stabs in with her short sword. Solunne blocks but leaves himself open to Sel's dagger that sinks into his side. "You'll pay for that!" he yells at her. No sooner does he finish speaking then he's hit by Phaedra's shield and she makes for the door. Seeing her go Solunne grins at Sel. "Great friends you have. They just left you to die." And he lunges at her with his sword striking her twice seriously injuring her.

Phaedra is in the door way of the tower. So, 35 feet from the building Silver climbed and 95 feet from where Elon and Kestrell are.

Fel'rekt: A crowd blocks your way. Make a DC 10 Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check (your choice) to make your way through the crowd unimpeded. On a failed check, the crowd counts as 10 feet of difficult terrain.
