He also spends some time trying to strategize with Nev about how she has power to negotiate an arrangement to remain Genny’s mother in everything but law, and guarantee time with her, etc.
Then the secret part of the strategy is once Genny is old enough to be queen, she could make whatever rule she wanted and re-adopt her mom as her legal mom if she wanted.
Neventi is somewhat sullen to Dog's efforts to study and plan in anticipation of meeting King Haddian. She seems to want to just spend time with her daughter, resigned to their eventual fate.
And so another day passes and the helm is fully charged. With 6 mounts to transport, 8 people to transport, and Gash, who has to go every time, only Gentoa and Neventi can remain behind with the mounts while the rest of the team scouts ahead.
Gash activates the helm and the six adventurers appear in a small workshop strewn with instruments. Lutes, flutes, violins, drums, pipes, and more rest on work benches half-completed or hang from hooks or lines around the room. It smells strongly of sawdust and lacquer. A white-haired gnome sits on a stool at one of the work benches, stunned at the sudden appearance of the six adventurers...
Would we keep one adventurer with Nev and Genny for protection?
Only if you take a mount with you in place of who you leave behind or leave a mount behind permanently. Gash can only take eight with him, so 6 mounts, Gentoa, Neventi, and himself is the max he can do on the return trip.

As the adventurers stare back at the elderly gnome blankly, he finds his voice. "How...?" He says, looking at the weapons and armor glinting in the dusty light. "Who ...?" He then realizes those questions are unimportant. "Please don't hurt me! I have very little of value!"
Dog drops to one knee and gently raises his empty hands in a calming gesture. “I am sorry to surprise you, we mean no harm, master craftsman. We needed to get to Alciondria quickly and sought the use of some powerful magic. Can you tell me if that is where we ended up? We will be out of your hair.”
Looking around the shop he tries to remember if Nev ever made use of any instruments like this, and he awkwardly asks if the proprietor is a follower of Milil.
"Yes we need to see the king. Do you have anything that we could bring him as a gift? Seems only proper... Oh um sorry... I know we're a bit strange but please be calm we are kind people. Just... okay..."
Gash lays down 5 gold, "I'm really sorry for startling you and the inconvenience."

Gash- Lvl14 Goblin Wizard - The High Court of the Aasimar Queen
The gnome continues to cringe for a good 10 seconds before he realizes nothing inevitable isn't happening. Only then does he processes what was said to him. "A-Alciondria? Yes, this is Alciondria," he says. On Milil, he says, "I have donated to the temple in the past. I suspect I will be visiting there again very soon!"
When Gash mentions the king, his eyes go wide and he says, "I...I don't think the king is in the capital right now. One of my instruments in the hands of King Haddian would be a tremendous honor, though!"
"Not in the capital? Do you know how we might find out where he is? And would you mind telling us if that's a normal occurrence? We are from far to the east, not accustomed to such royal activity." Dog says, still crouching and trying to smile in a comforting manner.
"I...bwuh..." the gnome says sputtering. "I am but a humble instrument maker. I have no knowledge of the royal ways. The king does travel frequently, as I understand it."
Dog smiles. "I don't believe I needed an exact itinerary. Just what you had heard. We've bothered you enough, thank you again for your time."Dog walks out of the shop with a small bow and takes a look outside, trying to get a sense of the city. "If we are here, we can message Nev with the sending stone and let her know. Unless we need to go somewhere else with the king potentially not in the city!"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Perhaps the finest instrument that Martin spies is an exquisitely carved lyre. It is freshly lacquered and engraved with depictions of devas and solars playing lyres of their own. With some bargaining, Martin is able to acquire the fine instrument for 61 gold.
Alciondria
The capital city is a sight to behold. Temples, bell towers, and other buildings loom over the city from unimaginable heights. Every street is paved and well-maintained with bricks or stone. A well-designed sewer system keeps the rainwater and filth away, leaving many to do their business in a clean and pleasant environment.
The streets are crowded, despite the cool breeze chilling the winter morning. Scents of stew, scones, fresh fruit (in winter!), fish, and savory meat pies waft through the streets. Stalls and businesses line the cobblestone streets in every direction, at least where the band of adventurers has landed. Alciondria thrums with a vibrant energy that is both invigorating and overwhelming at the same time.
To the west, towering over even the tallest temple peak is the palace of the Mage King. Haddian's palace sits atop an incline that ends at a cliff overlooking the vast sea to the west. Many have remarked at how the throne sits at the farthest point from literally everywhere else in Alcion. But in many ways this perception is mistaken. For one, the palace overlooks an entire section of the city at the base of the cliffs where healthy fishing and ship building industries reside. Additionally, Alciondria is a major port, with routes leading to everywhere else in Alcion and beyond. With the addition of Haddian's Long Road, the capital is closer than ever to even the wildest lands of the vast country.
Looking at the watchful palace glinting in the winter sun with golden trim and stark white stone, Neventi replies via her sending stone. "All is quiet here. Glad you arrived in Alciondria. Ready to go when Gash is."
“Let’s find a safe, quiet, out-of-the-way place to bring them in, like an inn or a temple to Milil. The instrument craftsman - I actually forgot to get his name - might work if we have trouble. But not for the horses.”
Dog starts asking absurd navigational questions to friendly-looking passers-by to try to get a basic sense of: where things are, where decent inns are, if there is a temple of Milil, and if anyone knows where the king went and how long he should be gone for.
Temples of all the heavens exist in Alciondria. Inns abound and you can get them with stables or without, ranging from the most run-down poor excuse for an inn to those that rival a royal estate. Name your price and you can find an inn to fit it.
"I think the temple would be a good plan. Let's make our way there. And let them know the situation. THey should only be excited at the prospect. Right?"

Dog begins asking around for the temple to Milil. “So what do we tell them when we get there? The whole thing? I think they would be excited, if they believe us. Maybe we should have asked Nev before we left.”
He will help Bulwark keep an eye out for observers.

Martin looks at the instruments, seeing which one to buy to take to the king.
