Feytok's ax slices cleanly into the last wolf's neck and it falls with a gurgle to the ground. Only the sounds of the panting victors and the roaring of the nearby waterfall remains. If there are more beasts in the forest interested in the party, the scent of blood is in the air. They won't have much time to tend to their wounded and figure out the mysterious bridge into the waterfall before curious predators make themselves known.
Nature3 might be more cathartic than functional, still putting some little mangled strip of fur tucked in my belt. As Feytok does that the last of his rage fades and his mind clears, he runs to Dog pulling a healing potion out as he slides beside him and pours the liquid down his throat.

Dog pops up with 5 hp and a huge thankful clap on the back to FeyTok once his vision clears and he realizes the wolves are dead. He's pretty happy to not be wolf chow.
He doesn't want to tarry or be stuck at the edge of this pool, so he turns right back to the bridge and immediately begins poring over the granite block's surface, edges, and the surrounding area to look for markings, buttons, levers, or anything that might do something to activate the gears he's heard about under the bridge.
"I get the feeling that these statues want us to go across this water -- otherwise why bring us here? Does anyone know what deity that monastery was built for, and does anyone recognize who those statues are supposed to be? I'd really like to know who we're dealing with here before we figure out how to get to them."
He's also interested in the role the statues play here - what are they standing on/standing near? Also what does he see to the left and right of the bridge? Is it a riverbank/canyon? A pool? Could it be walked around? What does he see around the waterfall... is it an island? He doesn't pull any lever or activate anything until he tells the others and they decide if everyone should be on the granite block. He's starting to suspect the block is what someone could sit on and be conveyed to whatever's on the other side of the waterfall as the "bridge" retracts, but he's not going to say that to the group until he knows more.

"Anyone have actual climbing gear?" As he asks Feytok begins looking for a switch or mechanism. 14 "maybe we don't need to move, maybe the bridge moves" (if I'm still inspired 4 it may help)
Dog, newly revived, pores over the granite block, finding no mechanism of any kind. However, his thorough investigation does reveal two faint parallel scrapes along the top of the top of the block that suggest something heavy has repeatedly move back and forth over the surface of the granite in the direction of the waterfall.
Feytok does not have anything meaningful to add, although he sports a nice scrap of dire wolf hide now as a trophy.
"Right, so, look here everyone," Dog says as he points to the scrapes. "It'd take a lot of mass, er, heavy stuff, to make these marks, and it wouldn't happen with just one go, there's something that's usually here that's not here right now. Might be big enough to carry people, like a carriage. How do you get a carriage when it's not here? You call it, right? Or the carriage driver needs to know you want them. Nev, you and Gentoa were what the statues wanted, right? Know any good calls?"
Nev shakes her head. "I barely understand how it is we ended up here. Frankly, a few hours of sleep isn't enough either. Maybe whatever it is that is supposed to happen is broken. That doesn't help us, of course."
(OoC - so on top of the granite block is a pair of faint parallel grooves leading in the direction of the water fall, and under the bridge are gears and mechanisms of some kind? But the gears are broken? Do the faint parallel lines run along the bridge as well, or just the granite block?)
"I think we all need to be close on this granite, let me reach out to the traveler for an answer" Lucien will sit and meditate, to see if the Traveler will provide some assistance.
The statues appear to be little more than statues, until Feytok tries to drag one of them from its spot. At which point, it and the neighboring two statues draw their swords and face him. After letting go, they return to their silent vigil, sheathing their swords again.
Meanwhile, Lucien prays for guidance. Lucien:
The sounds of the waterfall fade as Lucien finds himself standing on the shores of the great river that birthed the desert nation he once called home. The river here is calm, barely flowing in any noticeable way. On the other side of the river sits the traveler, leaning against a tropical tree trunk, disguised by the copious shade. Lucien feels the heat of the morning sun beating down on his back and it is only going to get hotter. With Lucien are half a dozen children, some holding onto his clothing and one holding his hand. They are dramatically complaining about the heat. The Traveler motions for Lucien to join him.
Shaking his head and gesturing to the children elicits a slumping posture from the Traveler, no doubt accompanied by an eye roll, if Lucien could only see his eyes. The Traveler motions toward a longboat on the far bank that Lucien did not notice before. He looks down at the children again, some of whom have sat down on the bank of the river, defeated. He lets go of the child's hand, motioning for them to stay, then walks into the river. The sounds of water come roaring back as the coolness of the river turns into waterfall spray. Lucien opens his eyes slowly as he ponders the Traveler's meaning.
(The scrapes are only on the granite, btw, although they do go all the way to the edge.)
"Maybe if we ask them nicely..." Gash nervously approaches, "Excuses me, would you mind moving for my friend. I think he has an idea. Or maybe you lot could just help us across. Got any tips?"

(Combat has ended!)
Dog's still unconscious with spare the dying and medicine checks, right?
Yup
(Short rest everyone even unconscious can roll hit dice?)
Feytok starts skinning a wolf. " the bridge. We need to figure it out."
(Short rest runs a risk of an encounter..Give a nature check on skinning the wolf.)

The statues remain as silent and motionless as statues.
Tock is coming up with random ideas, "What if we all climb on the granite block and push ourselves off and slide it across?"
If anything, the granite block appears to be an anchor to the bridge column.
