Wiping his dagger on a rag, the half-elf notes the look on Nicholas' face, similar to that of a startled deer. "With everyone blundering around this temple earlier, only one of these creatures making their presence known would indicate there are not many of them. Rest now, I will stand watch." He attempts to put on a brave face for his companion, despite his heart also pounding loudly through his chest.
Having been studying the book for several hours, you decide to rest your eyes, as you lean back thinking of what you have been reading, the last line suddenly makes sense, "Direct your focus and release the darts with your trigger word" It's a Spell! Looking back through the book, you realize there are actually 2 spells: Magic Missle & Sleep
"Ah, Lusith, welcome back. Let me introduce you to our newest companion", he says, gesturing to the body on the floor with a smirk. "Took a length of time for it to make it's presence known, so I hope that is an indication of their rarity. It is good to see you are unharmed, too. Were you able to find anything useful in the rest of the temple?"
"I'm glad you're ok, sorry I wasn't here to help. But yes, I found this nifty torc and fascinating book!" Lusith will hold up the torc and show him the title of the book he grabbed. "There were more books, but they were just about animals."
(Would the torc be a size that Lusith could wear? Or is it intended for someone of a different size?)
Stands and goes to wake up Lyle. “Buddy...I think this is a spell book. If I could figure out how to use it...there’s real power here...”
Lyle blinks awake and then glances at the others. “That’s amazing. And hopefully incomprehensible to the others. Best keep it safe, and hidden when you’re able. What sort of power are we talking about exactly?”
Nicholas nods and stuffs the book into his bag. “I just think we can use this to help get us off the island...and maybe it can help us after we get back.”
DM:
Is there a way I can use this to cast the spell or would I not now how?

Denethir
"Not quite the treasure promised to us by Keestake, but it's a start." Denethir manages a weak smile in response to Lusith's enthusiasm. He notices Nicholas and Lyle conversing quietly in the corner, but thinks nothing of it. "Get some rest Lusith, you have been exploring this place for hours, surely you must be tired?"
Nicholas will suggest to Lyle that they take a look at the items they pulled from the ship again, specifically mentioning the statue.
Nic will take another look at the potion bottle and see if he can tell what effect drinking it might have.
Once finished, Nic will double check his armor and blade, gather his belongings, eat a ration thoughtfully, and wait for the others to be ready at dawn.
As dawn comes, the statue raises its hand, the room is suffused with a warm, golden glow. The body of the fallen undead, glows brightly until it is painful to look on. When the light fades, the body is gone. But so are your wounds, every scrape, scratch and scar you have every received is healed. Your raiment has been mended as if it were new, and a warmth you have not felt since your capture fills your body.
The statue, has once again returned to normal.

As the light fades, the raised area of the torc clicks open.
Keestake looks around the room. "Himself was right not to disturb the Goddess," he says with some awe. "Himself was a seaman, and he kept many of the old traditions. When his son died, he buried him in the catacombs they built under the mansion, along with all his son would need in the next life. Remember, I do, the shipwrights built a ship in the catacombs to take his Youngself into the next life. So, there be a boat down in the catacombs, and I remember hearing ocean when I took Himself and his Lady down for their final resting."
Keestake looks at everyone, "Getting to them catacombs means getting into the manor, and it be crawling with Orcs and Goblins, but I know the way. If we can get past them'ms."
Denethir

“Oh, right,” Lyle says almost like he startled himself by remembering he has a statue.
and he looks it over.

Lusith will nod reluctantly, and move over by the entrance to the temple and lay down using the book he found as a pillow.
