Az Emberi and Dirk quietly exit the old barracks and enter the hallway. A set of stairs lead up to the North, a hallway you haven't been to yet that goes East and West.
To your immediate west is the stairs down to the cave of water where the skull was sacked. A faint green glow is noted from the stairwell, and quiet chattering peppered with intermittent cackling echoes from that direction.

-We are all just one failed saving throw away from someone else's fantasy...
Heading away from the chattering noises that may or may not be the reemerged flameskull, Az and Dirk lead the party quietly North to a T intersection. Az Emberi hears sounds to the right, like rocks being thrown about, then a voice barking orders in common, "Be careful! If there is something good down there and you break it, the Black Spider will have your head!"
Az moves down the stairs and peers into the open natural cavern. A wide rift fills the eastern half of it. A stream pours out of the west wall, probably from the pond, then tumbles down into the rift. Several ropes are secured to iron stakes along on the western edge of the rift, leading down. You cannot see the chasm floor, but you hear the rocks being moved around from within it, and two figures to the North, a bugbear and a male drow. The Drow is focused on what is happening in the chasm, the bugbear is actively scanning the cave. 10 They haven't seemed to notice you poke your head around yet.
Whispers You may not need it, but I love it... (I cast) invisibility (on myself). I start moving towards Az, angling to head north along the wall, quietly.
Az Emberi rejoins his companions in the hall way. "The last drow we came across wasn't. I'll hit him with moonbeam. Hymir and Fjolnir should hit the bugbear. Dirk, Absinthe, and Dustfinger cut the ropes to limit their reinforcements first then join the fray. We hit fast and hard"
If you're attempting a surprise round, everyone write out what they want to accomplish in one round and I'll roll for the Bugbear's perception to see if he notices you coming or if he's facing the other way. If he fails I'll say your surprise actions all happen at once, if he succeeds everyone rolls initiative and it happens in that order.
As soon as Az brings the Moon down on the drow's head, Dustfinger quickly summons up his mirror images and makes a break for the rope closest to the bugbear. If he can't cut the rope in time, at least he can be prepared to engage the furball so someone else can cut the rope. Before he launches away, he whispers to the party, "Don't stay too grouped up. All drow know faerie fire, and we'll soon be lit up like a halfling's wedding."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fjolnir sighs audibly and pauses a moment.
(In a Ritchie-montage, he plots out his actions- He plods down the stairs whispering a hail of thorns conjuration, emerges cursing and spitting, and looses one arrow at the drow, and immediately follows sailing another at the bugbear.

Step into the big room cloak billowing and summon a moon beam on the drow. Needs to pass a con of 14 (disadvantage if its another shape changer) or take. 12 Radiant dmg. Also if its a shape changer and fails it reverts to its natural shape.

The bugbear doesn't see it coming in time, he is looking the other way even as Dustfinger's foot slides on a loose rock. The echoing scraping noise alerts both the bugbear and the drow but by the time this happens, the party is out in the open releasing their attacks.

A lot of things happen at once. Az Emberi calls down a beam of moonlight that the drow fails to withstand, and it appears that its skin melts away as it reveals the familiar visage of a doppelganger. Click here:
Hymir strikes with a chromatic orb but misses. Fjolnir looses two arrows with deadly accuracy. His hail of thorns only hits the Doppelganger, though. Dustfinger makes copies of himself and rushes toward the rope nearest the Bugbear, however he only makes it to the stream at this point. Absinthe races across the cavern at blinding speed and shortswords the doppelganger's nethers. Dirk sneaks along the West portion and once he sees the shape changer still standing, he fires a beam of light at its eyes, retaining his invisibility but the creature manages to shield his eyes.
Initiative: Doppelganger: 17 Taken 33 damage, looks hurt Bugbears: 13 #1 taken 9 damage Absinthe: 6 Az Emberi: 8 Dirk: 20 Dustfinger: 9 Fjolnir: 20 Hymir: 18
We did all this not specifying a light source for Absinthe and Hymir, but I'm going with one for each due to the size of the cavern. If we retro Absinthe's new mace for his sword, it's the same to hit and won't effect anything, except that now he has light. Hymir can cast light on anything, so not a big deal. We'll say that's what happened.
Hymir, Fjolnir and Az Emberi are up again before the bugbears.
