Perspicacious will shout to Tony,"Forget the crowd, let's go! Maybe we can find a way out of here." Then she'll yell back to the party, "Cover our butts!"For a second, she's taken aback by the sound of her voice. She's still in Ted's body, but that was definitely her intonations and not his. Strange things are afoot at the Devil's Arcade, indeed. She heads into the tunnel, summoning an invisible spectral hand as she does so. You never know when you'll need an extra helping hand.
Tony grins mischievously, “Speakin’ my language!” Tony will follow after her!

The five of you dash into the tunnel. The ghastly crowd behind you wail as one, but they're too late: The arcade gate closes behind you with a firm CLA-CHUNK. You're now surrounded in that green swirling fog. Horrific acid-green shapes coalesce and dissolve in the emptiness around you. Oddly enough, aside from the fog, the surrounding darkness feels very much like the Void- that blank space that exists within and around Porphyrion and the punch-out lounge.
For the first time since the plane of air, you hear the Fatal Susurrus- that fel whispering that accompanies the opening of a leap gate. The green fog fades, giving way to dark granite walls, a golden, shining ceiling, and a plush red carpeted floor at your feet. You find yourselves in the Maze- you're inside of Mammon's Gold! The whispering continues a moment longer, and then, without warning, each of you feels a horrible twisting sensation. Your vision is doubled, but a few moments pass and the susurrus and twisting cease.
You now find yourselves in your bodies- your REAL bodies. Of April O'Neil, Jason Yi, Patrick Bateman, and Ted Logan, there is no sign. Fiorello, you are corporeal once again- however, Ty Rockasaurus still floats over your heads. He floats as though lying on his back, idly strumming a few power chords on his axe.
"THAT WAS A WILD RIDE, MY DINO GROUPIES. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU, BUT I'M FILLED WITH A FEVER- A FEVER FOR GOOLLLLD!"
(Okay, back to your typical character sheets! Penguini- I'll control Ty for the time being. Your objective is pretty clear: wherever you're trying to go is likely at the end of the maze. Perspicacious and Tony: remember what you learned when you played the game, and don't die!)
The tunnel stretches ahead into the distance. (2) Behind you, you all begin to hear a faint hissing...
There's a sharp SNKKT! from the rear of the party as Jean unsheathes her Blade of the Tower. The golden glow of the ceiling is magnified in its reflection, casting aside the encroaching darkness and bathing you all in its light. The red-haired warrior hoists the Greenghast shield, as well, her devil-may-care smirk directed at the still-unseen serpents racing toward you all. "You lot carry on ahead," she booms, "I'll take care of the early birds."
You all dash forward and come upon an intersection! To the north (in the distance) you can see a mountain-sized pile of gold To the east there is enormous pocket watch, loudly ticking The snakes are to the south and closing fast
(Just a friendly reminder that Tony and Perspicacious died instantly when they took wrong turns in the maze earlier. So...)
Ty Rockasaurus wails rockingly. "YO! Nobody said there would be SNAKES at this gig! The Rex is OUTTA HERE!" and he flies ahead of you toward the mountain of gold.
Amaruve, Burble bubbles up and out of your vest pocket, gurgling excitedly. Is there anything he can do to help?
Amaruve prepares to drag Jean along, but she seems insistent on staying behind. He lumbers ahead with the others.
As Burble flits into the Air Amaruve considers the options. None seem great. He nods toward Ty, and the wisp follows after the chaotic spirit.
(Is there any indication if any of us including Percie have any extra lives at this point?)
Amaruve, feeling his connection to mother return, expends a spell slot to Detect Magic.
(Just to clarify: Jean isn't hanging back so much as moving along with you and protecting the rear. You have no reason to believe that you have extra lives. You could roll insight, but you feel as though you are in a real place and in your true selves)
Amaruve casts detect magic. The air is thick with necrotic energy- so thick, in fact, that it takes a moment to adjust your sight to your surroundings. You see those briefly materializing ghostly shapes all around you now, Amaruve. Beyond that, you don't see any other obvious magical auras within the radius of your spell. Juuuust at the edge of its boundaries, however, lies the giant ticking pocket watch blocking your path. Abjuration and transmutation magic appear to be slathered thickly upon it.
The party makes its way up to the pocket watch. The hands move swiftly about its surface, stopping at specific points just as before. Jean hustles up from the rear, sheathing her sword. "I can kill a snake, but... that's a lot of snakes. You all know how to get past this thing, right?"
The hissing wall of death behind you grows louder and louder.
Tony is perplexed for a moment. Then he finally notices the weight hanging from a strap on his back. It takes a moment to unhook the device and, small as the goblin is, he has to cradle it in his arms to aim it properly.
It's an enormous cyberpunk laser cannon. Flashing (seemingly pointless) LEDs line its silver barrel, and a chunky red safety trigger glows from within. It thrums with energy as Tony hefts it. A tag near the trigger reads "One-Shot Power Boost!"
The snakes are behind you. The clock bars your path. Stone walls are to either side of you, and the gleaming golden ceiling is directly overhead.
Tony, drawing on familiar shades of any time someone gives a goblin a laser cannon, cackles madly, “The snakes reappear if they die.” Tony cocks the cannon, “Don’t feel great about bringing the ceiling down.” He aims the cannon, “Walls probably have more snakes, which means...” Tony pulls the trigger at the clock, “Mr. Mammon, TEAR DOWN THAT CLOCK!”

Tony's laser cannon blasts him back and off of the clock (where he's caught by Amaruve- who is in bear form once again, just as a reminder). The purple laser punches a 10-ft hole in the middle of the giant pocket watch, plenty of room to allow the party to pass! However, before you do, there's a howl of pain from within the clock. Emerging from the still-smoking wreckage you see a familiar, corpse-like, horse-headed figure. It's Tikbalang, holding a hand to his laser-scorched side and glaring at you menacingly. Clearly, he's upset that you exploited a loophole and avoided solving his tricky puzzle.
He turns to vapor and races away, apparently toward the center of the maze (unless, of course, someone attempts to do something to stop him first...)
If you let him go, the maze continues ahead to the next intersection! Regardless, the snakes are nearly upon you!
Apparently the rules are't what they were before, thinks Perspicacious. She looks around herself to see if she has one of those fancy laser blasters...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Fiorello rushes through the newly created tunnel behind Tony. "BTW," he asks, "How's everyone feeling? That last encounter took a little out of me." As he asks the others, he says a quick prayer, making a sign with his free wing up toward the heavens as he attempts to cure his wounds. (2nd Level: +14HP)
