Suddenly the tranquility of the campsite is replaced with the tension of a magical threat. Watchful eyes and attentive ears detect nothing other than a distant owl hoot and the crickets, but an eerie feeling as if someone had violated your minds is certainly lingering on all of your thoughts. Three more days to Werflowe, a strange magical encounter already, what else lays on your journey to the village?

After several minutes in relative silence, Delilah speaks up."We were prepared to pack up, sleep, and hit the road in the morning. This interruption has discouraged that, it has put us on edge. It'll be hard to sleep knowing that someone's out here messing with our minds." Her words carry a sort of mixed tone about them, as if she is thinking. "If I were trying to get rid of a band of adventurers, I'd keep them from sleep, exhausting and confusing them before separating and picking them off one at a time."She continues,"If we stay on defense and don't take the offensive, I fear such a plan will bear fruit. If that is what is happening, they will likely come again next nightfall. Nyaris, your kind don't need sleep, right?"
No signs of anyone or anything that doesn't belong in the immediate area.

All beings need their rest, but elves n-need less than most folk. I typically spend 4 hours in a meditative trance to refresh myself.
Louder, to all
I see no benefit to p-pushing ourselves to exhaustion. I p-pr-ropose we take watches thu the night. P-perhaps R-red, La-lancel, Slate, M-m-ixum and I cover the night. De-delilah should take the p-post-dawn shift since she doesn't see well in the d-dark.

"Sounds like a solid plan to me - it probably would still smart to set out just after first light and breakfast, that way we can cover a bit more ground. We can formulate a counter-move to this family's treachery during our ride."

"What family you talking about Dellilah?" Slate would ask curiously as he moves closer to the fire looking at his companion, the flames casting dark shadows across his face as he prepares to take watch.
Once we are all accounted for, Red will take a look at our horses and gear - but not leave the position until we agree to.
Lady Thorne is probably right about the risks of inaction. But we have nothing to attack, and I am halfly glad of that. I could not do this with less than seven times my bard lore - and then only to one at a time up close. And Brother Lancel won't be able to fix it for nearly that long. So if this is a person or a fiend we are way out of our depth. If it is fey, well, maybe we could bargain? If it is this place, we ought to move or find the disabling mechanism if it exists. And if it is something we ate - what moron brought up hunting? Oh yeah, boy is my face red.
So I count four reasons to leave, two to look around, and one to find an antidote (there is some overlap). But traveling through the dark, not knowing where safety lies or how far, needing to rest sometime, seems pretty futile. Setting double watches and trying to sleep seems like the dumbest thing to do and yet the only thing I know how to do at this point.
Ideas?

We can speak of this more when we are rested during our ride tomorrow. I’m going to get some rest, wake me for my watch.
Lancel will go over and add some wood to the fire and stir the ashes to keep it going thru the night and keeping them warm from any nightly chill (Survival check 12 )
He will then lay down in his same position as before and wake for his watch (Perception while on watch 4 )

Furthermore, there's no reason to think they wont follow us if we leave. Sleeping now may not be entirely advantageous, but if we travel through the night and come up exhausted, our enemies will find us easy prey. He will place his hand on Slate's shoulder and cast Guidance before heading back to his sleeping spot.

Her action will depend on the information at her disposal. If she spotted something, it is highly unlikely she would do anything without alerting at least one other party member. Delilah does awaken, taking a moment of privacy before returning to the camp and hearing Nyaris' question."It's not really the magic itself, but more the feeling. The tension, constantly watching your back, being prepared for a knife in the dark at any time."Her eyes wander lazily as she explains."My family is not the only branch of the Thorne family out there - we are christened the 6th, far lesser to the main branch of the family who directly control most of the entire family's assets. If our branch, however, could be eliminated, another would be able to stake a claim to some portion of the wealth and property we are designated, depending on what all need be distributed. There were constant negotiations between the branches, attempts to take power from one another through guile, and of course, a couple of suspiciously timed attempts on my fathers' life."Despite the gravity of what Delilah is saying, she looks almost bored with herself speaking."The feeling of ongoing, ever-present pressure makes me think of those days before Canheim, when we were more... embroidered in the political landscape."Trying to shift the focus off of memories that she seems less keen on, she cocks her head lightly before questioning,"I am to assume that elven families lack such dynamics, then?"

Nyaris wake the others after Delilah finishes her morning prep and after their conversation.
With the nudge from Nyaris, he wipes the sleep from his eyes.
Good morning ladies. Nyaris, would you allow me to place a blessing on you for this day? As our eyes and ears on the road ahead, I would like to help as best I can.
If Nyaris is willing I cast Ceremony granting her the coming of age, this takes me an hour to cast, but figure breakfast and packing is being done during this time.
So it was decided, certainly a strange arcane interaction but no clear motive or individual to assign suspicion to. The group of adventurers from Canheim take caution to be diligent during their watches but it is clear some are more distracted by the events than others. As sleep befalls everyone, you notice your dreams return to your childhood. Appearances made by your family members and friends, then beyond to when you all entered training. Each of you, advised to set upon your discovered talents by your mentor Arkalis. Dreaming of what Arkalis would say in this very moment realizing you are adventuring forth with the very talents he saw in all of you. Eventually the sounds of birds chirping invade your dreams and you realize it is morning.
Some of you have already continued last night's conversations, others have started getting the horses and equipment ready for the travel ahead. It isn't long before the group travels forth.
It is another sunny day, the roads become start to branch off into less traveled trails and you are surprised you haven't saw any other travelers along the road since your journey from Canheim.
Passive Perception - As you are traveling, you keep a watchful eye out but can't help but notice just how beautiful the day is. If it wasn't for the unsettling nature of the missing memory of leaving Canheim, you would say the travel was going perfect. After traveling for roughly an hour or so, you spot a small carriage that seems to have parked just off the road within a clearing of trees.
Passive Investigation - It seems the carriage is meant to be drawn by a single horse which is apparently missing. It is also clear that the visibility of the carriage from the road was only mildly difficult to see as it was lazily or hurriedly disguised with sticks and leaves.
Passive Perception - Birds are singing and the sun is shining, but you did not forget that the mysterious magical threat may still be nearby. Confidence in your group's diligence grows as you catch members of your party looking about as you travel.
Passive Perception - "Better watch your back" you remember Varkas saying. While the child bully meant it in a threatening way, you took many lessons from the harsh tutelage of the bullying you endured as a child. Today, you watch your friend's backs as well and grateful that you have them to look after yours. So far though, today is proven to be as peaceful as a travel as was yesterdays. After traveling for roughly an hour or so, you spot a small carriage that seems to have parked just off the road within a clearing of trees.

Also assuming she can get back to the group and stay out of line of sight of the carriage. If it is open terrain, that's a different story.
Two real alternatives if my assumptions hold (plus a really bad third option)
1. Ride straight up at the ready and check it as a group.
2. She (and anyone else who can reasonably sneak) can go in and investigate. See if they can spot an ambush. If no sign of ambush or other nefarious activity, investigate the carriage.
3. Ride past and just try to slug it out if it comes to it.
