Red, quietly to all See the carriage up ahead? Odd to be out here - we've seen no other.
Since something has been affecting our memory, perhaps two should investigate together? I'm the next stealthiest after Nyaris.
And whether or not I go, perhaps Master Upgood would be so kind as to Message the scout(s) every few minutes to keep tabs?
If Nyaris and others agree, Red would have sling at the ready and investigate with her.
Stealth 5 Perception 23 Investigation 6
BTW, during the morning pack-up, Red is going to start writing notes on events with pen & parchment in case memories become disputed. He takes input from all - do we have a common narrative so far? or are there different memories? He will note differences
(ooc edit) not sure why it didn't come out red, but if you edit above the dice roll you get a tampering warning. sorry
At the sight of the cart, Slate would draw his sword and shield before dismounting form his horse. "looks like a half-arsed attempt to hide a cart" the drawf would bellow as he points to the cart with the handle of his flail. "Who wants to come with me and check it out?" He would say looking over his shoulder towards his friends before slowly approaching the hastily hidden cart.

Mixum's burro comes to an abrupt stop, nearly tossing Mixum head over heels.
"I say, what seems to be the matter?" He wiggles backwards up the Burro's neck into a riding position, hoping no one else saw his mishap. "That was a bit abrupt Edgur Rice," he scolded.
Red is right Slate, let our scouts do their job, but be at the ready.
Lancel will sling his hammer over his back and draw his spear. He’ll turn his horse ready to charge the carriage should Nyaris or Red run into trouble. He will also cast Guidance on Red before they depart.
"Gaahh! You get to have all the fun!" Slate would reply with a smile that hides a tinge of disappointment. "don't come crying to me if ya get yerself into trouble and it takes me a minute to run over there.. my legs arn't as long as yers!"

Nyaris
I am certain you will hear if we encounter any "fun". The message spell on a regular schedule is a good idea, but i will only vocalize a bird call to indicate no problem. I will not speak unless there is a problem

Nyaris returns from scouting up ahead 23
It appears she is attempting to be unseen as she is bent low towards her horse and stepping out from the tree line towards the group on the road.
OOC
I forgot to include in some of the descriptions that there was also a passive investigation (if perceived), so that's why some got more details than others.
As the two scout up ahead to check the carriage out, Nyaris quickly disappears into the woods she knows where to step as Redemption looks around for places to step.
Nyaris & Redemption find...
It appears the carriage is quite simple on the outside with a few patches to the fabric rooftop. Inside appears to be small cages of various sizes along with empty glass vials and a few crates of miscellaneous goods implying this may be owned by a traveling trader. Nyaris carefully looks thoroughly inside and finds that in addition to the clothing, and empty bottles inside one of the crates, there seems to be two flasks of a yellow liquid, and two of a deep purple concoction. On one of the smaller cages which seems only capable of holding a mouse, although empty of its usual dweller at this time, has a plaque with the name etched into it fancily that reads, "Spinny"
OOC
Apologies, seemed I didn't catch the most up to date posts, the first post was Nyaris originally spotting the wagon from scouting ahead, the second (this post) is the two of them venturing off to investigate the abandoned carriage.

I'm confused - is Nyaris coming back from the initial spotting of the carriage or is this related to Red and Nyaris going to try and suss out the situation?

Nyaris takes the 4 vials and puts them in her pack.
I'm not taking the time to try and identify, but OOC, is it a reasonable assumption that they are some kind of potion, given my background with a druid adventurer for a father? Regardless, she will show them to Mixum when they get back.
Clarification questions: Any signs of struggle or violence - recent damage to the wagon, blood in or around it? Is the inside of the wagon tossed with the empty vials strewn around or is it packed & orderly? Are their cut leads, reigns or anything damaged in the area where the horse would be attached? Trying to determine if it more likely the owner tried to hide the wagon and rode away on the horse (b/c it would be faster) OR whether it looks like some kind of attack and the bad guys took the owner whatever else and tried to (quickly and badly) hide the evidence.
OOC: Nyaris had originally scouted ahead, found the carriage, reported back to the group, then ventured off with Redemption to investigate further
Nyaris and Redemption continue to investigate...
Nyaris is sure the content of the flasks hold some sort of use and decides to store them in her pack for Mixum to look at to determine if they hold some value in adventuring. Redemption looks around the carriage and returns back alongside Nyaris who does notice that the reins have been severed, and due to frayed ends, possibly even chewed through? No other signs of damage seem to taint the wagon, and while some of the glass bottles seem to be laying on their sides instead of upright, the disorganization inside the crates looks to be purposely done. It is reasonable to assume if the owner and horse had left the scene recently, perhaps they left tracks behind ( Survival roll if wishing to track)

Where there is mystery,it is generally suspected there must also be evil.
As the group awaits to hear back from their scouts...
Nyaris and Redemption look around the ground surrounding the carriage...
It is obvious there are multiple horse tracks and foot prints in the dirt but without proper training in tracking, it may be impossible to follow the trail.

Keep it in your pants a minute crusher? Let the sneakers sneak?
To Mixum, wink and grin to acknowledge awesomeness
To Nyaris, still sneak around the back, assuming attention will be on our bellowing guardian?
