Slate Ironhand appears to be looking his water skin over as Lancel collects pieces of stone nearby to cast his Mending spell.
on the bottom of your water skin, it appears there are six small puncture holes. At first glance it looks like you may have sat it down on something sharp, but after rotating the water skin around, you realize the six holes are positioned perfectly to design a smiley face!
Redemption seems perplexed at the impasse the investigation has taken and studies the carriage longer. The tiefling holds up one of the shirts towards Lancel as he walks by and towards the front of the carriage to continue his mending of the carriage's straps for his horse to pull.
Redemption nods as he puts the clothing back into one of the boxes inside the carriage.
It seems the clothing size would be more appropriate to fit someone like Lancel or Slate rather than that of Mixum's size. You are pretty sure from this information that this carriage's owner is likely to be a dwarf. It does not appear anything else at this time to provide helpful direction to deduce further.
Ever since the group started discrussing the idea of taking the carriage along to Werflowe, Delilah has been wearing an uncomfortable expression across her pale face. "I don't know. There's a lot of unknowns - perhaps this cart was stolen by an as-of-yet unidentified thief. If we roll in, band of armoured mercenary types that we appear to be, It wouldn't look good, and we may even be implicated in a serious crime."She looks distant for a few seconds after speaking, before airing a suggestion, "I suppose we could move the cart closeby to the town, and then inform the villagers that we found it while exploring the woods nearby. It wouldn't be entirely untrue, and it would at least allow us to collect more information before we go announcing that we have it, without leaving it behind and never knowing."

"Take the whole cart I say... that way when we find its owner we can give'em all their property back at once" State would say looking up from his water skin as it is repaired. "And if we find out the owner is dead or doesn't want it, then it can be our new company transportation" The dwarf would say with a harty laugh. "The thing we need to worry about is what type of tiny creature punches holes in the shape if a smiley face into water skins... some kind of Sprite maybe?" Golver would ask as he runs his hand through his beard.
to Red: "Actually I know a bit of Sylvan, but finding the prankster to talk to it could be difficult. I've heard stories that offerings might work to let us pass in peace."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nyars would like to search her memory for any knowledge of fey creatures that might be relevant to the situation. She also would like to see if there are any other signs or evidence in the area that support or disprove the fey hypothesis.
Not sure what/how many rolls are relevant, so I'll provide a few of d20 rolls and let Wraith apply appropriate modifiers from my sheet to the appropriate number of rolls: 7513

Mixum takes a shiny, pretty marble from his pack. He crafts with his [magical tinkering] ability. He has Red sing the compliments once more-- to the marble-- while he helps him with phrasing it into Sylvan.
The [magical trinket] will now, when pressed or activated sing the compliments.
Mixum takes the marble to a rock that is just a ways off from the group and calls out in Sylvan. "We come in peace and mean you no harm. We just wish to pass through this area. We have a gift for you." He places the marble on the rock and turns away and heads back to the group. He does not try to 'see' or catch the prankster. He gives the prankster space and privacy to accept the gift.
Redemption glances away as he notices the unwavering attention forward Mixum Upgood the gnome gives as he returns back from the offering ...
You know the offering was seen, whether it was accepted is another matter. The chaotic nature of a potential fairy prankster could truly amount to a delay if not dealt with correctly. Just as you are considering your next action, you hear a cry from the woods towards the south. Just as you considered it to be a female, the second call is definitely a male, and you are sure it is more of a cry of disbelief than anything else.
The eerie feeling of the little hairs standing on end is a mutual experience as the group looks coldly to each other hearing the shrill screams of someone in trouble. The second cry out sounds more like an shout of disbelief. Slate and Lancel recognize the Dwarvish words...
...as an expletive, "To hell with you blighter bugs"
The commotion seems to be coming from the south through the woods.
Nyaris Elenlith nods as her expression tells of a pondering thought.
Arcana - The normally carefree Fey creatures of the world would ferociously attack evil creatures and unwanted intruders. However, it is likely you are dealing with a tiny Fey creature, most of tiny creatures would take full advantage of their invisibility and other abilities to drive away opponents typically by harassing them. It is likely with the tiny holes among other clues, this is either going to be a Sprite, Pixie, or perhaps a Troupe of Fey creatures working together. If it is a Sprite or Pixie, jokes, pranks, and shiny gifts go far to gain the good side of the merry pranksters. A known weapon of the Pixie is a magical arrow capable of memory loss, you look to Slate.

Where there is mystery,it is generally suspected there must also be evil.
She relays the relevant info about fey attacking evil or intruders to the party.
We could go in b-b-blazing, but we really do not know the situation - neither how many fey creatures nor the intentions of the t-tr-travelers. I am willing to recon, try to better ascertain the situation.
If we want to approach the situation without violence Red could engage them in a wordplay game that most Fey find ir-ir-irresistable. The elvish name is Dwsins. It is translated in Common as The Dozens. Proving worthy in Dwsins could give us an opportunity to negotiate passage, if we are intruding on their territory.
OR we do what most would consider the smart thing - m-m-mind our own b-b-business. Move on, assume our offering is accepted and hope they let us pass without f-f-further harrassment. Let these strangers deal with their own situation.
I think we have at least been seen - so we may be judged on how we react. I am suspicious of this cart full of cages - pixie hunters?
"Blessed are the peacemakers" and all that - plus if we help the wee ones we might Earn some information. If we don't we could get harassed all the way to Werflowe. And if we are hearing the cart owners we could get some answers from them too.
I say we go slowly with the horses, and try and rescue the good guys (or more likely, everyone from each other)

I agree with Red, I think we need to help out those dwarves, but at the same time, if they are hunting these creatures, they need to be taught that just because you are bigger, does not give you the right to rule over or capture the smaller creatures of this world.
Lancel
Thats a lot for us to carry, I have an idea.
Lancel will cast Mending on the straps of the carriage and hook up my horse to the carriage so that we can take the whole thing with us.

The clothes inside are dwarf-sized, not gnome, so this is likely not Mage Fizzlefing's carriage after all.
Still, bringing it along is probably the best way to get it to a rightful owner, or at least get some clues in Werflowe.
