"Not in this cacophony in such a lively inn." With a smirk, Ree'lyn replies to Cairn barely hiding his frustration. "Maybe there is a parcel of exhaustion, due to the journey, taking its toll on me. I would think I could resist harsh conditions for longer, given my previous experiences with long dangerous travels."
He looks down at his ale wishing Elsa would have brought him her best wine and winces slightly. "I might use sounds, smells or objects to distract someone as needed. Even visual effects. What do you have in mind?"
Cairn pulls oyt the best of the bunch of venison jerky (out of his rations~deer btw) and hands it to Reelyn.
"Ye know, we wouldnt have gotten as far as we 'ave without you Reelyn and Flynn. Me and sildar by ourselves woulda' been pretty screwed. Thank you fir coming along. An' Gilliam? Where ye at lad? C'mere. Were gonna have a little talk if ye dont mind cause um sure we all 'ave a few questions.
Furst where de ye come from? Then why was ye on the road? AND THEN, how did ye survive by yer lonesome?
Just curious. Im not tryin to pry, but we lkke ye. At least i do. So id just like to know ye a bit before u say stick around."
As he speaks he hands them both flagons of ale that he paid for as they are brought to the table.
"And the dangers we have faced together, Cairn. Teamwork!" eating the jerky Cairn has offered him. "Thank you! "
"Very good questions, by the way. Let Gilliam share a bit of his tale." He looks at Gilliam welcoming him to get it started. "Keep your eyes open for suspicious behaviors. Who are we drawing attention from as we speak? What are the looks and words going on around us?"
"You want to know my story? Well, I don't see the harm in it, maybe it will provide tonight's entertainment." "Thanks for the drink. Let's see, I was born in Greenest, small city on the Sword Coast, nothing too special growing up there, it's a relatively peaceful city."
"Why am I on the road you ask? It's part of my training. My order takes helping others very seriously, so once we get our basic training done with, we get send out into the world to see if we can be of any help and to further decide our path, after all actions speak louder than words. I haven't been alone for a long time, up until ...I believe it was last week, I was travelling with a merchant who needed some help escorting his stuff trough the area...apparently the occasional bandit attack is rather common here,
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Last people I saw before meeting you were very arrow-free as far as I remember, so no I'm guessing that was a different person."
The moment Gilliam is not being bombarded by questions, he is going to have a look around and check out the place, seeing as the others seem to feel the need to stake out the place.
Perception 14
((So i had filled in the wrong modifier (standard +1 wis instead of my +3 in perception tried to edit it, but then i just got worse forgot about that edit clause... Guess there's very little way for you to see proof of this so take it as you please but the original roll was 17,which +3 would be 20))
Flyn swollows his current mouthful with the help of a swig of the ale he had been given. Putting the glass down he wipes his mouth with the sleave of his travellers coat.
"Hello. I am from the city of Neverwinter. Well that is, or should I say was, the place I am...was living."
When looking up at Elsa, Ree'lyn's smile is broad and his eyes lock up on hers for a brief moment to realize how she reacts to his chivalry. "Thank you for the choices for meal and drink. Back in Ched Nasad, we have our own exquisite Underdark ingredients to prepare all kinds of dishes. I would like to offer you, as a sign of gratitude for your good services and looking out for us." Saying that, he gently and discreetly hands her two small rolled up parchments, which, when she unrolls them, will have one recipe each inscribed on them. A delicious soup made of deep roots, mushrooms, rothé meat and spices and a sweet crusted pie made of minced Underdark berries and minced leaves and fermented flower petals.
"I am curious, is your inn always well frequented by well mannered people deserving of your good hearted attention?"
"Well since ye asked so nicely, (cairn winks at Elsa) im from Baggalir. Small little dwarf city mostly. Some men and civilized folk. But it was more or less under marshall law of the soldiers. Being around them so much i joined up with them for a time. Thats about all that i can say about home."
(Adding to what Reelyn said)
"Aye. This is a refreshing difference from the description we 'ad gotten. We were thinking it was mostly ruffians 'ere"
Elsa: To answer your questions, you gentlemen happy to come at a most unfortunate time. The town has seen better days and we are kinda at the mercy of the Redbrand Bandits. They have given so many of the businesses including this one problems.
Ree'lyn's look doesn't change after listening to Elsa's words, still with a kind expression and in a low and welcoming voice he replies: "Now, pretend we are still ordering something, do not look around, keep your beautiful smile on your pretty face and tell us if there is any one member of those Redbrand Bandits in here now. And if anyone has paid too much attention to any of us since we arrived."
She doesn't see any Redbrands in the place and no one has paid much attention to you guys. Everyone in town seems to be on about a couple of different issues. Elsa could tell you more about the towns issues if you guys roll for investigation for her
Cairn finds Reelyn once again after getting his ale, (quietly, but with a smile) "see anything yet?"
He shifts his weight over to one foot, loosening up a bit.
"And know ye any illusions that could cause a distraction?"

She isn't really paying attention to you as much as she is Cairn.
