Nate, Sildar frowns at you slightly when you mention the Lords' Alliance. There's no response from any of the others in the inn.
He leans in a little closer to you. Now, lad, it's not exactly a secret, but as I'm an agent of the Alliance, perhaps you'd allow me to handle Alliance business. He grins, to take the sting out of it. Everyone will learn soon enough of my business here, but I'll have words with the Townmaster first. It's a courtesy, that's all.
Nate (and anyone else who's interested in the other patrons of the inn), make an Insight check.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nate becomes flustered and is clearly not the most charismatic human out there. He was thinking he was doing something good (and also not thinking logically as he is still drawn to learning about this magical artifact) and so Sildar's frown surprises him. He doesn't understand why mentioning the Alliance is over-stepping his boundaries.
He then instantly becomes shy and quiet and mutters back to Sildar "Right.... right. I apologize. Should we seek out the Townsmaster then before we go to the manor tomorrow morning?"
Nate then slips back into his chair and just watches the other patrons trying to get a read on them, happy that he isn't talking anymore, doing what he does best.
Nate and Omnia, you notice that the group of miners, who had been having a normal conversation before Nate spoke up, seem to be having an argument afterwards, though you are seated too far away to hear any details.
Omnia whispers to nate "I am going to see what the commotion is over there" she stands and makes her way close to the miners just close enough to make out what is being said.
Omnia, as you head over to the miners (and you are not being stealthy), they stop and turn to you. You want to be careful here miss, you and your loud friend, says one. Keep your heads down, and make sure you don't cause any trouble.
In the Gods' name, now it sounds like you're threatening her, one of the other miners says to the first, before turning to Omnia. Apologies for my brother here. You folk look like brave and adventurous sorts. Maybe you could do this town a favour. You might want to speak with the Townmaster tomorrow; there's word of orc raiders in the east, messing with trade along the Triboar Trail. That of interest to you?
Yeah, says the third. Good idea. Head east, and get out of town quick. Safest that way.
Omnia glares at the first brother before turning towards the middle one "yes that does sound like something we could look into, we managed to dispatch of some goblins up there so orc's should be fairly easy enough. Is that why you was all arguing over here is it disrupting local mining operations?"
There's no trouble with the mines, miss, says the first miner. The others nod, and the second adds, The Townmaster's Harbin Wester. Townmaster's Hall is south down the main road, easy enough to spot. They look at each other, and then start talking about the day's mining.
Omnia will go back and tell nate all that she has learnt "perhaps we can chat to the townsmaster in the morning sounds like he might have some work for a group like ours"
"Sounds good... Sildar also needs to speak with the townsmaster, so how about we enjoy tonight's meal and company and then tomorrow morning after breakfast we can head over to the townsmaster and then to the manor?"
Nate will chat the rest of the night away with the others about nothing in particular - mostly about the recent battle with the goblins in the cave, and just some stories of when he was in the bandit camps and asks about Ophirinn's past as well.
Ophirinn joins in on the idle chat of the recent events. when Nate asks him about his past he a says "Well, I not as impressive as yours friend, but I used to live in a dragon folk village. It was a small village but we had rich mines, but this would sometimes bring unwanted attention. One day we were raided by bandits. The bandits targeted the houses with fire, but I was able to defeat them and limit the damage to the village. From that point I knew I had to put some order in this chaos we live." Ophirinn then looks to the others "What might your stories be? If you wish to share."
Nate listens intently at Ophirinn describes his past. He never would've imagined meeting a dragonborn, let alone hearing of an entire village of them. Nate is happy that Ophirinn has joined the party and looks forward to seeing more of his magic, specifically the fire breath which has engraved in his memory from the previous battle.
"My past is one of ups and downs. I was born at our family home but my father soon passed away due to illness. I have 5 siblings 4 older and 1 younger than me. My oldest brother is not doing so well with relationship difficulties but he his trying to get back on his feet, the others are doing very well. Where we lived they was very few prospects so i left the family home and became a sailor. I thought that i was joining a ship with a good and honest crew but how wrong was I. It was on board The Culgoa that I learnt my trade as a rogue and I quickly became very good at it. I eventually settled into pirate life and rose through the ranks to become the ships bosun. One evening when I was on watch I saw a falling red star and a face appeared in the mist. I am sure this was a omen to us all so at the earliest opportunity I left The Culgoa and made my way inland. Using my old contacts I found out that The Culgoa soon came into trouble and is lost at sea somewhere, no wreckage has been found and I have not heard from anyone off the ship since. One day I would love to try and find The Culgoa and maybe reclaim her as my own."
A pirate, is it? says Sildar to Omnia, with neither an approving nor disapproving tone. I've known many good friends who started out in less... honourable activities, but found their way to doing good in the world. I hope I will count you as such a friend in the future. He takes a swig of ale. And you, sir. He directs this at Brom. What tales have you to tell?

(Let me know if you want to interact with anyone else in the inn, or when you're ready to head up to bed. :) )
